The pain stopped her drunken expressionless rhythmic spin. The burn was concentrated and sharp; a pencil point of agony on the center of her cagina, that soft plump white stretch of skin from thumb to index finger. She stood and stared down at the ember still in its asteroid glow embedded in her right hand. The girl who’d shoved a cigarette against her while she had danced solitary in the anonymity of the dance floor grinds herself against the thigh of the muscled round-headed thick-lipped guy she was with and disappears in the bobbing mass.
The orange glowing ash clot drops from her skin and other dancing strangers push against her from each side. She lowers her lids and narrow bedroom-eyes her way through the crush to the end of the bar. “Gheaţă” she slurries at the guy with the miniscule reptilian pleat of black hair surrounded by buzz stubble skull across the bar. “Ame
