Broken Illusions: Legend of KorraBolin knew that if it had been him in Korra's place, he wouldn't have been able to even laugh hollowly like he was trying to do now. But laughing was how Bolin got along in life. No matter how grim the circumstances, he'd always been able to hide behind a mask of optimism. And circumstances were looking grim, indeed.Broken Illusions: Legend of Korra3 years ago in Drama More Like This
He simply could not imagine his life without bending. Even as a young street urchin traipsing after Mako everyday to survive, there had not been a time when he hadn't earth bended, and the thought of living without being able to bend was analogous as to the thought of living limbless. The thought of Korra having to go through that made goosebumps crawl up Bolin's arm, scaring him more than the thought of losing his own bending.
It had only been about twenty minutes since Korra had gone in to see Katara, but to Bolin it felt more like twenty hours.
Deep breath, Bolin, he commanded himself silently. Now, let's go over the plan once more. Scenario A:
Borra :: Fate Makes Our Choice | Part 3"Bolin! Where are we going? It feels like we've been walking for hours!" Korra whined, continuing to be dragged by the boy in front of her.Borra :: Fate Makes Our Choice | Part 33 years ago in General Fiction More Like This
"Just wait a little longer! We're almost there, I promise!" he said, turning his head slightly to give her a large grin.
He focused on her face, her round, youthful features and the way her eyes seemed to glitter in the sunlight the way the ocean would when you were at the beach at either noon, sunrise, or sunset. However, as he continued to gaze at her, her eyes widened and her lips parted slightly as if she were trying to tell him something. But he couldn't hear her words even as she spoke them so loud and clear. His attention was solely on her face...
He let out the small yelping sound as his head crashed into one of the city poles and he fell down, taking his new friend with him. For a moment, the black-haired boy let go of Korra's hand and used both of his own to hold his head, his eyes squeezed shut and his teeth clenched the slightest

A coco-skinned woman sat on her knees, her head dipped down in sorrow as her messy hair covered her eyes. A single tear slipped from her dark, ocean blue orbs that seemed to grow duller with every moment that passed. Her baby... She was being taken away from her and there was nothing she could do to stop it. Her husband was the waterbender, and he wasn't here right now. She sank deeper into the mud that lay at her legs and then looked up, eyes widening as she saw her daughter roughly being dragged away by the wrists. The woman's teeth clenched and a cry ripped from her throat as more silver tears filled her gaze, blurring it and possibly saving her from the horror which she saw.
In desperation, she turned her gaze to the guard who was beside her, gazing down at her with a wicked smile on his face. His grip on her neck tightened as he forced her head down once more, preventing her from looking up at him. She gasped as her wind pipe w
Borra :: Fate Makes Our Choice | Part 2She let out a long breath, panting for a moment before turning to her master with a look that just begged to be praised. And when she caught sight of Katara's face, the little girl knew that she was getting what she wanted. Her master was staring at her, wide-eyed, unable to fathom what had just happened. All she could do was stare and let her jaw gape in awe at the sight before her. A six year old girl had just completely mastered and improved a waterbending technique in a single minute that the elder herself had spent years trying to perfect. This girl, this young Avatar in front of her was truly amazing. When the mother of three had finally regained her senses, she tried to appear calm and composed and gave Korra a small nod, smiling delightfully at her. Affection and pride showed in the master waterbender's eyes, as if she already considered this child to be like her own daughter.Borra :: Fate Makes Our Choice | Part 23 years ago in General Fiction More Like This
"Very good, Korra. I think we're done with training for today. You've more than proved yourself worthy
