bouncing words off others' tongues
and find our way by reverberation
concentrated and unstrung
Cartographers within the silence
mapping souls with sonar beams
Illumination brings no triumphs
'cause it's obtained by splitting seams
Who, after all, wants a spotlight on their soul?

And wanted nothing more
Than songs to sing and words to fling
Whilst sitting by the shore.
Once I was a dreamer
And could, not once, deny
That every night, my dreams grew light
And gave me wings to fly.
Once I was a child
Knew not of hate and war
I'd dream and sing of peace, a thing
So many do abhor.
Once I was a lover
Loved life, God, earth and sky
I'd love to say I've stayed this way
But that would be a lie.

A Fear I won't be known
A Fear of dying
A Fear of crying
A Fear of being alone
A Fear I won't live long
A Fear life will hurt
A Fear I won't give enough effort
A Fear of being wrong
A Fear I will fail
A Fear of losing
A Fear of a beating
A Fear I will need bail
A Fear of blandness
A Fear being showed off
A Fear of being scoffed
A Fear I will be worthless
A Fear of drear
A Fear I will lose
A Fear of virtues
A Fear of Fear

Me. Do you know me?What do you see,Me. Do you know me?4 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
when you look at me?
Do you see me?
Or do you see right through me?
See me insides?
See my blood running through my veins?
What do you think of me?
I don't know that myself.
I don't wish to know.
I don't want your opinion.
I only know what I think myself.
Did I wish to know you?
It was random.
Like almost everything else,
that happens in my life.
That or unfortunate.
Do you know me?

Wind brushing by shy hair
Seagulls squeal as they fly over currents
Pushing and pulling in constant harmony
Lying still in tan grains are shells of many
Rocks and kelp scatter in this water
Shining sun gives sunburns
But no one cares, they just laugh
And enjoy the beach.
But there is always one
Hiding in the palm trees.

We are re-users, we are visionaries, we are researchers, we are finders, we are explorers, we are adventurers, all within the confines of our own home.
We are anti-conformers, we are deformers, we are enablers, we are disablers.
We are thinkers, we are seekers, we are tweakers and transformers.
We are growers, we are expanders, we can flourish in every place.
We are editors, we are writers, we are modelers and modelees.
We are imaginers, we are children, we are fighters, we are secret keepers and secret givers.
We are recyclers, we are upgraders, we are renovators, we are innovators.
We can hide in the most intricate ways, and be visible in every way.
We are shadow-hiders, spotlight-stealers, kingdom fallers, and kingdom bringers.
We can bring joy to the solemnest of people, and bring down the happiest from their heights.
We are outlasters, outlivers of every culture, every human, and every king.
We are old and young, dead and alive, and everythi
