I can hear the music,
playing in my head...
That brick wall melody,
that leaves me dry and bled.
Back out, unsound, way past
The naive embrace,
clutched like the withering vine,
so doubted in commonplace.
That sorrowful harmony,
with mysterious limbs
running like mad
through my mind, so dim with fog.
In my wake do I hear that music
of the morbid and downtrodden sound...
Sweet, the symphony of my imagination...
the chaos, although so profound.
Stained, my face with the misery
Of this occupation of thought,
not much, yet the burdens are stiff
within the acidic net, am I forever caught.

It's the constant battle between angels and demons.
It's the constant struggle to survive.
You want to get away from the things that tempt you,
you want to follow the less-traveled path.

My trembling hands-
Don't want to come together
I refuse to feel weakness-
Oppress the confessor
I will defy the defeat-
Of my body and mind
And my tears will freeze-
So I...will never cry
I was always told
That I have to be strong
But a child can never grow
When reminded that every decision is wrong
I didn't need to know
That strength was everything
Otherwise I would have given up a long time ago
Because that is my childish instinct
Take back every single breath / Take back those moments I lived
Take back those nightmares I dreamt / Take back those days I wept
I can only take so much / I can choose to give up
I'm not the one who's being the judge / I'm not the one who's being the fraud
I once believed
That resolve was protection
But all forms of relief abandoned me
I crumble upon the footholds of absolution
End RemembranceEnd Remembrance3 years ago in Historical More Like This
Remembrance Day originates at the end of World War I. The idea is to honor those who died in the line of duty, defending their country from enemies. For all its pompous words and fancy granite memorials littered with colorful flower bouquets, Remembrance Day and others like it have failed miserably in achieving this goal.
I've often been criticized as having no respect, and that can be an impediment when discussing certain topics. However, I am often in luck – hypocrisy deserves no respect. What changed as a result of the enormous sacrifice of those who died in WW1? As the first bombs of WW2 fell just two decades later, millions once again obediently lined up under various pieces of colored cloths to slaughter and be slaughtered. It became obvious that absolutely nothing had changed, and that the millions of WW1 had died in vain.
Most would agree that all that lip service paid to the sacrifice between the two world wars wasn't good enough. To truly honor their sacrifice would be

If you could have one wish, what would it be?
Would it be mountains of shiny gold,
the finest clothes in the whole world,
or a giant house filled with the best luxuries?
I would be a bird.
A beautiful, blue bird I would be.
I dream of flying high into the sky,
and chirping at the people below.
Yes, that's what I want.
People gasp and ask me why I would say such a foolish thing.
Why wouldn't I ask for money, for something more valuable?
Because I already have everything I want.
