Fire and smoke... that's all that I could remember...
...Everything was hurting.... where was I? The smoke had started to clear some, but my eyes couldn't seem to focus on anything, it was all blurry... something green, I could see something green everywhere, and brown, below all the green was brown.
Red danced around me, coming from parts of gray stuck in the brown... why were my ears ringing so bad?
“Holy... are you seeing this Tanner?” Comes from off to my right, it was tinny, must have been the ringing, I try to look that way and everything flashes red, and I let out a roar of pain, but something was wrong, it was wispy, no strength to it, and my chest burned.
“It's alive too, damn!” Says another voice, something had started up out in the distance... what was it? Barking?
“Agh, we don't have time for this, they're still hunting for miracle man here. Getting close too.” says one I haven't heard before...

“Cody, get down here.” Seth says while getting away from the door. Anthony moved the chair back into it's original position while he said this. I hear heavy footsteps and then black claws grip the door frame as an ash-white wolf's head pokes through “What is... oh.” he says with mild surprise “Why didn't you tell me the dragon's up?”
“You were coming here anyway right? Thought i'd let you find out when you got here.” Seth says in his defense.
“Though under different circumstances right?” He looks over at me with golden irises “Okay then, dragon, what's your name?”
“Shane.” I wince as I get up, all my remaining injuries protesting. I brace my arm against the wall to keep from falling.
“Well Shane I hope you can hobble fast.”
“I'm not sure I can even do that anymore.”

The first thing I was aware of was the desperate need for air, lungs burning for it. I gasp in air while in complete darkness. I lay there breathing for minutes at least, until my breathing had stabilized. The darkness had started lifting as the sun rose, casting rays of light through the windows.
I was aware of something at the inner corner of my eyes, all I knew at the time was that it was black. It wasn't until I tried moving that I realized it was attached to me. So the instinct was right. I got turned into a dragon... This was what I thought as the sun really started to put light into the room.
I felt numb at this realization that I became a dragon, I figured I should feel happy, or at least slightly shocked. Instead I just sat up, taking stock of the changes that occurred. The remains of my clothes sat around me, like I figured, since I went through a rather large change in size, at least growing another foot and maybe a couple inches. I looked at the

Myriad scenes flew through through my sight, most dark, alien, and confusing. I could hear random voices, low and just as mysterious as the visions. A roar ripped through the din of the voices and the swarm of images sped up along with the voices, making it almost unbearable.
Then one voice says clear and loud “Wake!” everything went black.
I was aware of the wind, the rustling sound of grass, and my own breathing. Once I opened my eyes I saw an overgrown field of grass. I push myself up onto my knees and see what lay around me. Everything was clear and vibrant, from the grass to the occasional tree, to the city that sat in the distance. There were other areas, a sea could be seen to my right, and a desert went on behind me.
I stand, noting that I had my AE jacket on... didn't I take that off before...? Then I remember falling to the ground and passing out.
“What is going on?” I ask to thin air, but theories start to crop up

I wake to the sound of the A/C turning on with my face buried in my pillow like usual. I push myself up and over to the left side of the bed, I just sit there for a few minutes trying not to fall back to sleep, shaking my head, i reach over and grab my phone turning it on and checking the time " 4:59?" i mumble as I set it back down and stand up. Stretching, I look around my bedroom. In front of me was the walk in closet... nothing interesting there, behind me sat a lovely window that would shine light into my face each morning if i slept in to long, right to the left of it was "the center" a jumbled mass co

"Alright, alright I'm awake! just shut up already!" I grumbled while reaching over and silencing the alarm clock. Needless to say, I wasn't quite a morning person.
Grumbling even more about having to start work so early, I made my way to the toilet and washed up, before heading to the wardrobe to pick my clothes for the day.
As usual, when I opened the cupboard door, a dragon's head stared out at me. It was bright red, with a pair of yellow horns, plus yet another smaller one on the tip of the snout. Along the back of the head, on either side, ran two sets of three slightly shorter white horns. The clear blue eyes stared out at me blankly. It was the head that belonged to my fursuit, with the rest of the suit kept in another bit of the cupboard itself, folded nearly.
I liked to joke with my friends that since the head seemed to stare out at me everyday, I wouldn't be surprised if it started talking to me. However, I was wel

A similarly colored clawed hand reaches out from under the covers for the nightstand next to the bed and feels around for the phone that is causing the ruckus. The front part of the covers lifts to reveal the slim head of a dragoness with two horns sprouting straight back from her head. With lazy eyes she spies the phone and snatches it up to look at the time.

Five minutes later the alarm goes off again for the fifth time and with a reluctant groan she picks up the phone and dismisses the alarm, “Guess I better get ready…” She sits up and allows her clawed feet to touch the floor and rubs her eyes with the palms of her hands. The secretary behind the front desk simply gave him a dismissive nod, and then returned to her crossword puzzle.
“Right…” Sighing, he glanced back at the empty waiting room, surprisingly plain-looking with its whitewashed walls and shiny, checkered floors. Large potted plants and dark grey couches were positioned in neat rows throughout the room, and there was a long table overloaded with various pamphlets and magazines next to the front desk where he stood. Pre-recorded voices greeted him from the ceiling far above: “Welcome to Helena Pharmaceuticals! Your Key to a Better Life!”
The young man grinned at that. He tried not to, but he couldn’t help it. It was just too exciting, especially whenever he stared at the thick metal door on the far side of waiting

The Naga's Bite"Today is a perfect day to go camping," thought Amanda. Amanda was a country girl who loved going camping. If she was given a choice between a shopping day at a mall or a day outside, she would chose the great outdoors. Today she was hiking along a path in the woods, in her native state of Montana, and admired all the wild plants and creatures as she went. It was almost sunset and she was about to head home, then she noticed the strange track in the dust. The track was long and smooth. Chapter 1: chosen
There was a different place, a place where some known but really unknown creatures were living. A place so strange, but interesting, too... That place was around by highest mountains and greenly valleys. The flowers grew up without problem, atmosphere was perfect to live there as a legendary creature... But those creatures weren't classic monsters as you know in fancy tales... They were really majestic creatures... They were dragons. Those dragons had crystals, different kinds of crystals covering their bodies. That reason made them to be called Crystalgons, the most weird and even magic race of all times.
And that place was Drako. The land of Crystalgons... I hope you can be there someday.
Well, I can say I was there. Indeed. I could know many friends and enemies of mine because I was chosen, chosen for a special mission. Eh… I have to say I’m like a kind of otherkin (I mean a soul creature inside of a huma

Today was just the usual drag: wake up, rub my eyes, get up, and actually wake up with a shower. The torture of waking up over, I grabbed my normal wear, which was a green or red T-shirt, paired with black jeans. I finished my dressing, then poured myself a bowl of LIFE cereal, and headed out of the kitchen. I sat myself down and watched some TV on the green recliner sofa.
Unlike what I usually do, I decided to watch the news for a change, instead of SpongeBob and Fairly OddParents on YTV to pass the time. I don't know why, but today I chose to watch the news. Generally I hate watching it since it normally bores me all the time, but for some reason I just watched it. As usual, it tormented me for about an hour until the incredible happened: a news report that was actually interesting! This news report was about a group of thieves that broke into a science lab during the night, stealing a unique device of unknown abilities, and the lab itself wasn't talking.

105 degrees. That was allot of temperature. I laid contorted on the couch in the dark living space of my loft. It was one that I was lucky enough to own after getting into college. My parents set me up, like they always did. It was an awesome space - just one big empty room with bath and bedroom doors. Vast and silent, there was a cave like calm to it - a far cry from the overstuffed dormitories where I had spent freshman year. My dizzy gaze rested on the messy desk against the far wall. Under its wooden surface, a beefy gaming desktop steamed on. Above it propped a crisp Wacom monitor with its matching pen to the side. As evidenced by the worn keyboard and mouse, that workstation was my life. Every major accomplishment I made was done with it as my companion. I spent many nights there, churning away at animation assignments and now the sight of it was exhausting, but the sudden wave of sickness had made sleep impossible.

It was good for the dragons to get their frustrations and grudges out of the way in a much more civilized fashion than the norm. Still, so far this was the worse yet, complete with internal bleeding. Just because I was too tired to think about the events, that doesn't mean that my subconscious wasn't. I dreamed that I was standing at the top of a cliff, and a grand valley loomed over me, large as the eye could see. Below me raged a war. Hundreds of soldiers fought beasts of all sizes and colors, each beast looking at least as terrible as the one I had seen. The soldiers blasted away at the monsters, with weapons that went from assault rifles to miniguns, and even mortars and howitzers, trying to cut down every monster that crossed the killzone. But it wasn't enough. I saw a veritable army of monsters rush the line, just to be gunned down. I thought the soldiers were winning, until I saw the reinforcements. Any attempt to warn them fell on deaf ears, and I was helpless to watch the destruction.
Flying beasts swooped down, massacring dozens, while monsters behind the front line lobbed rocks that did more damage than the artillery. The flying beasts looped for another devas

The alarm beeped and the lights came on in the bunk, breaking me out of the embrace of my slumber. However, I opened my eyes a tad too slowly, for I was promptly smacked in the snout with a pillow thrown by my buddy, Samuel.
“Get up. 5.30 already!” He quipped, shaking me awake. Most of the humans in my platoon were more or less used to having me, a dragon, around, and treated me the same as everyone else. This included rude awakenings.
“Stop it, bitch! I’m awake!” I mumbled into the pillow, as I peeled myself off the bed and reached into my cupboard habitually, to look for a pair of glasses that I no longer needed. I still kept them at home, though, as a momento of when I was human. The change in form had brought with it perfect eyesight, and a slew of memories and knowledge, of a life past as Tano’rath, and I went by both that name and Kean these days. Most of the knowledge was way ahead of it’s time, like faster than

Have you ever had one of those really weird days? You know the kind- when something happens that throws your everyday life out of balance. Maybe it's that day when you woke up and your living room was repainted. Maybe it's the day when you found out your mom was pregnant.
For me, it was the day when I was turned into a dragon.
Well, part-dragon, at least.
The whole thing started out normal - wake up, get dressed, go to school, get bullied, the norm. Alright, I did see some guys in weird cloaks here and there, but they vanished so quickly I could've sworn they were hallucinations. I really didn't pay attention to them.
That was my big mistake.
I was minding my own business, walking home after another hard, humdrum day at school, when I found one of those weird cloaked guys standing in front of me, staring right at me with bloodshot, kind of crazed-looking eyes.
"Uhhh... mind getting out of the way?" I asked. "I need to ge
