Dragonized, chapters 0,1, and 2.Chapter 0- through the fire and flames.
Fire and smoke... that's all that I could remember...
...Everything was hurting.... where was I? The smoke had started to clear some, but my eyes couldn't seem to focus on anything, it was all blurry... something green, I could see something green everywhere, and brown, below all the green was brown.
Red danced around me, coming from parts of gray stuck in the brown... why were my ears ringing so bad?
“Holy... are you seeing this Tanner?” Comes from off to my right, it was tinny, must have been the ringing, I try to look that way and everything flashes red, and I let out a roar of pain, but something was wrong, it was wispy, no strength to it, and my chest burned.
“It's alive too, damn!” Says another voice, something had started up out in the distance... what was it? Barking?
“Agh, we don't have time for this, they're still hunting for miracle man here. Getting close too.” says one I haven't heard before...

The thought kept going through my head, soon followed by seeng the original die, and it still sent chills down my spine. We had been flying back for the entire trip, I had looked out the window, we were going to a different base than before, we had passed over the advancing front lines, yet the base I expected to go back to was across the sea, but I could improvise... The team that I was fooling so well were curious to why I was here and one asked what happened...
"You don't want to know, it would give you nightmares for the rest of your life... but to put it simply, the general sold us out." I read reactions of suprise from behind their visors, though about half the team took off their helmets.
"What happened to him?" The same person asks.
"He tried to sell out his own guard too, I caught him trying to relay our position, so I relay a bullet to his head... I have a thing about betrayers." They keep silent after that, or chatting among themselves, I found out that ther

Myriad scenes flew through through my sight, most dark, alien, and confusing. I could hear random voices, low and just as mysterious as the visions. A roar ripped through the din of the voices and the swarm of images sped up along with the voices, making it almost unbearable.
Then one voice says clear and loud “Wake!” everything went black.
I was aware of the wind, the rustling sound of grass, and my own breathing. Once I opened my eyes I saw an overgrown field of grass. I push myself up onto my knees and see what lay around me. Everything was clear and vibrant, from the grass to the occasional tree, to the city that sat in the distance. There were other areas, a sea could be seen to my right, and a desert went on behind me.
I stand, noting that I had my AE jacket on... didn't I take that off before...? Then I remember falling to the ground and passing out.
“What is going on?” I ask to thin air, but theories start to crop up
My Dragon Family PrologueIt was close to sunset as two siblings, brother and sister were walking home. The sister is named Jessica and she is 17 years old. Her younger brother is named Kyle and he is 10. Kyle is complaining to his sister, "Why do they have to tease me about this bracelet?"My Dragon Family Prologue2 years ago in Settings More Like This
In their family, they had a tradition to make a bracelet of crystal beads worn when a child turned 10 years of age. The beads were of various favorite colors of each family member. Kyle was being teased by schoolmates since he had begun wearing his.
"Well, Kyle, it's our family tradition. Don't let their teasing brother you."
The tradition had a story behind it. Their grandfather had wanted sons to share his passion for hunting and carving. However grandmother only bore him one child and that was their mother. He didn't know what to do with a daughter though he loved her so. One day grandmother suggested that they take up mak

That's about the first thing that comes to mind. My body felt like liquid fire, and my head kept pounding like a drum. I force my eyes open and they take little time to adjust to the darkness.
The room was octagonal and looked scarred. A pedestal in the center held a glowing gold ring... it scared the hell out of me so I get up and start backing away, the thing sent waves of danger coursing in my head... but why? I bump into a wall, the window long since shattered and melted. I look over the edge and stop.
Skeletons in suits and lab coats were strewn on the floor, all in various states of panicking. I could feel the air literally pulling at my back, was it the ring? Nevertheless It encouraged me to jump over the low wall and end up just barely missing the skull of someone. A deep rumble shakes the building and I stumble, kicking the head of a skeleton.
A jolt runs down my spine.
And the fucking skull starts talking!

Chapter 1: spirited away
As usual, I made my way to the library, toting a large bag full of work to boot. I was counting down to the big national examinations, which were but a week away. Left before my first paper, and I was nowhere as prepared as I would have liked to be…
I strolled into the library, the blast of cool air from the escaping air conditioning providing a refreshing respite from the hot muggy air of the outside. I made my way to the second floor where the study tables were. However, I was somewhat disappointed to find most of the tables already taken. I spent some time walking around, looking for a seat.
Eventually, I settled for a seat in a reasonably lit corner, and took out my materials and began to study. I was presently focusing on math, because mildly put, I had done horrendously in that subject in the preliminary examinations and was hoping to salvage the situation. But then again, that was more or less the case for all my subjects… I was t

Vashriel is carrying an enormous leather saddle over his shoulder that looks like it weight a hundred pounds, and outside I see his dragon Chaff already harnessed up. He throws the bulky thing onto the ground in front of me.
I ask, in a good mood from a good night's rest.
"Nope," says Vash with a smile. "Can't afford to feed ya, you're gonna have to catch your own breakfast later. Twilight can grab something quick from the kitchen after she saddles you."
"What's going on?" asks Twilight, standing up and rubbing the sleep from her eyes.
"Flying lessons," answers Vash with a wild look in his eye.
Vash refuses to actually help us put the saddle on, but he offers all kinds of advice and instruction, most of which I think was purposefull
The Seattle 777 IncidentIt was a rough day at Austin-Bergstrom International when our airplane landed, with wind and rain threatening to close down the airport. But somehow, the Thursday Shanghai run always came through. Our Boeing 777-4G9 seemed to glide in to the runway despite hefty crosswinds, before touching and quickly slowing down. Under air traffic controller guidance, I exited at the nearest taxiway and it wasn't long before the 777 was mated with the gate and everyone started to collect their things and disembark. I said goodbye to the people in first class, which was handled by one of three jet ways. I just turned around to grab my bag from the cockpit when a woman spoke. The Seattle 777 Incident4 years ago in Short Stories More Like This

"Hmm... Ye- HOLY!" I shouted, inadvertently getting the attention of my co-pilot, Tyler. We both balked at what we saw. As a green, six-foot, anthropomorphic dragon stood behind of the two older people. I took a step back toward the cockpit as a precautionary (more reactionary) measure. E

The first thing I was aware of was the desperate need for air, lungs burning for it. I gasp in air while in complete darkness. I lay there breathing for minutes at least, until my breathing had stabilized. The darkness had started lifting as the sun rose, casting rays of light through the windows.
I was aware of something at the inner corner of my eyes, all I knew at the time was that it was black. It wasn't until I tried moving that I realized it was attached to me. So the instinct was right. I got turned into a dragon... This was what I thought as the sun really started to put light into the room.
I felt numb at this realization that I became a dragon, I figured I should feel happy, or at least slightly shocked. Instead I just sat up, taking stock of the changes that occurred. The remains of my clothes sat around me, like I figured, since I went through a rather large change in size, at least growing another foot and maybe a couple inches. I looked at the

Huh, well that was kinda weird... I thought.
"Aww!" I suddenly heard behind me, making me roar with surprise and fall out of the bed altogether, to land with a crash on the carpet. I looked up through the tangle of my quilt, to see Zilla hefting a salmon the size of my head off the bed. "You weren't supposed to move."
I got up, pulling the covers off and un-skewering the pillow from my left horn "Zilla! I got an alarm clock you know!"
"But I was boooored" he moaned, the fish wriggling from side to side like.. well like a floppy fish. "Can we go to the airport now?"
I rolled my eyes as he grinned, and chucked my slain pillow to the bed. "Just, one sec to put some clothes on and make a phone call, ok

A small military airfield sat dead in the middle of the forest, the runway was active as a C-130 was being prepared for departure. The only apparent road from the base was made of dirt and easily blended into the trees after a mile or so.
Three miles off a sports bike roared down that dirt road towards the base, it's advance covered by the trees, though it didn't need to be, as the bike's headlight was off and the moon was covered by a dense form of clouds, stretched like a blanket over the entire sky. In a few minutes the bike breaks clear of the forest cover and slows down as it came closer to the entry kiosk and gate. The bike was painted in a camouflage pattern of forest green, tan, and black, so as to blend into the environment... The rider was different. The rider wore black from head to toe, black jeans, black long-sleeved t-shirt, solid black helmet, and black steel-toed boots.
About a quarter-mile out the rider turns the bike abr
Aerie Yet again it was time for plowing. I dreaded this time of year since it meant that I would have to work next to the horses for long periods. The horses always were nervous when I was around, so much so that plowing became nearly impossible. Once I had asked my father why he did not plow while I cleared away the rocks. He had replied that I was too young to be doing such heavy work.Aerie2 years ago in Settings More Like This
So this year, like every one previously, he hitched up the horses, lined the plow up for the first furrow, turned to me as I stand off to the side and said, "Alright, all yours."
I stepped forward, took the reigns, and like every year that I could remember, the horses instantly began blowing and stomping nervously. "Go ahead, ' my father encourages. So I started.
Again, the same story as the years before. No matter what I tried to do, the horses simply tried to get away from me. The plow leaned and jerked, and the furrow veered drunkenly.

Would anyone ever know how the search for oil reserves with discovery of new fields could yield an incredible event in biology? Weirder things have happened where one technology starts or advances another. Even weirder still are when technology and myth come crashing together. Over the years, the well bores went deeper and deeper into the earth, with wider and wider diameters. Technology continued to make the process capable of these extremes, but nature had some advances in store for us as well as a few surprises.

I laid curled up on my bed reading a book Father had given me from his ventures out of the cave. The book I was reading was "Lord of the Rings". It was written by a human called JRR Tolkien. I love reading human literature and I would love to one day venture into the towns and cities and see what other literature I could find from the remains of the humans that used to live here.
My name is Ash, I'm a sixteen year old bipedal dragon. I'm about six foot tall, my scales are sky blue as are my wings. I also look like every other dragon, with me having two white horns protruding from the back of my head.

Right from the first day, being part dragon had never been pleasant. Oh, sure, it might seem like some fantasy geek's dream come true, but take it from me, the whole thing is much closer to a nightmare.
Let's see if I can explain this.
Friday night I was a regular, slightly pudgy guy, and by Saturday, I looked like a giant lizard on steroids. You know what? I hate scales. I hate them. They rub against each other all the time, whenever you move; it's almost like wearing chain mail. Except it's attached to your skin.
Oh, and then there was the actual dragon I'd merged with, who had a nasty habit of arguing with me inside my head.
This is a ridiculous mode of transportation was his current complaint, as I rode my bike down the street. Thankfully, being half dragon comes two-for-one with basic shapeshifting abilities, so I was able to revert mostly back to human form when I wanted. The bad news: I still had two plates of ar

These questions ran through 16 year old Josh's mind. His friends had always said he was like a dragon, even earning him the nickname "Dragon Boy" among his group of friends. Regardless of his nickname, Josh himself loved dragons. Even at 16, he had always wished he could meet one. Oddly enough, Josh could actually sympathsize more with dragons than with most humans.
Some of Josh's "dragon-like" traits were the fact that he was a loner. He didn't have many friends. The reason for his having so little friends was because he was very skeptical about new people, even more so than most others. He also hated being around a lot of people. Whenever he was in a large group, even if it wasn't that many people, he always felt too cramped. His parents and teachers thought he may possibly have had some form of autism.
