The last sounds you will ever hear.
Be careful now,
Don’t you ever fall asleep!
Or else he'll come for you.
In the dark the Sandman waits for you,
With his decaying skin and pointy teeth.
So many teeth, can you count them all?
Too bad you'll never get the chance.
You are getting sleeeeppy, very sleepy.
And when your eyes droop,
And you fall into a deep sleep,
He'll be waiting for you.
His long spindly fingers will tear into your flesh.
Ripping away at you while you're powerless to stop him,
As he feasts upon your brains.
You think it's all a dream?
1...2... I'm coming for you!
3...4... Feel the fear down to your core
5...6... Prick yourself with sticks just to stay awake
7...8... As you hyperventilate
9...10... DON'T EVER SLEEP AGAIN!

The fright was really to never fear or care again
the endless fight within

to be satisfied to approach something everlasting

of spring's from years past
are like those that bring back
yearnings of my childhood beliefs
with warm days that evaporate
after nights of long rainfall
the scent of morning breeze lightly permeated
with the opening of buds
from newborn flowers and plants
As I sit here
writing a memoir
I'm often fondly reminded
of the sounds of spring
with birds that sing
and the sun's slow glide across meadows
filled with the hypnotic sway of honeysuckle
and the buzz of bees
busy about their tasks
And, I suppose
the one thing I remember the most
is the sound of the music from the calliope
as the Spring Fair
comes to town

Gone from my grasp.
A simple traveler
who made my heart beat,
but now is gone,
flying with the wind.
I never took the second
to reveal my heart
and say three words.
Now I follow the wind
with the sun at my back,
chasing a thief.
This is me
taking a risk,
taking a chance.
Ready to experience
heaven on earth
and just as he has stolen my heart,
I steal a chance
that I'll capture his.

Creature Under the Bed RP As a child, you had always been afraid of the dark, telling your parents that there were monsters under your bed or in your closet. They always told you that you were imagining things and that there was nothing there to hurt or scare you. But one night while you were having trouble sleeping, you could have sworn you’d seen something move. You turned on the light as quick as you could, but by that time, whoever or whatever it was, was gone.Creature Under the Bed RP1 year ago in Settings More Like This
Many years later, you had moved on from all that monster nonsense. Now in your teens, you believe that it had been all in your head, like your parents had claimed. Then, one night, you wake up to a loud crash in your bedroom. Waking up and turning on the light, your eyes widen as you see a creature frantically trying to pick up whatever item had fallen. Noticing the light was on, the creature turned to face you, a surprised expression on their face. You...

Orange and Blue hadn’t come back.
They had been taking more and more time to do so, lately, but she could hardly blame them. They were getting old, after all. She had never expected them to last forever. The only reason she was still using them was that building more of them would have been stupid. Robots testing was not Science. Still, she had to make do with what she had. Other than the occasional human who wandered into Aperture, whom of which she would gleefully put through testing until their… usefulness… came to an end, she had no test subjects. No, robot testing was not Science, but she had earned commendation for trying. Even if the commendation was a personal commendation, from her to herself. Come to think of it, the only one who ever commended her was herself. Which was odd. Surel

As you descend down the stairs, Arthur tries to hold in his laughter. Really, you looked very tired and your hair is all over the place. What time did I fall asleep?
Or did you get any sleep at all?
“Shut it, Arthur.”
He grins. “Oh? The princess is in a bad mood today? Well that’s not good! Why, you should have a hearty breakfast and you’ll feel better in no time!”
You roll your eyes and sit on the sofa. “And how would you know that?”
“I think my mother did that for me when I was little.”
You blink. “Your mother huh?”
He nods. “Oh! Oh! I think her name is Catherine! Or so my memory tells me~”
You look up at him again. “You mean you only knew that now?”
“So this whole time as a spirit, you had no recollection of even your family?”
You cross your arms. “And you st
How An Existentialist Binds a Book(or, Twenty to a Boxcar)How An Existentialist Binds a Book2 years ago in Philosophical More Like This
When binding a book, everybody has their own essential steps that must be followed. I like to first go out, my brother’s bamboo butterfly net slung over my shoulder, and prowl in the early light under the witch’s moon. There, I find, if I am careful and keep my thoughts relatively empty and harmless, I can snare a few blank pages. But they easily break free of the thin plastic netting of the butterfly catcher, so I must be quick and ensnare them in gossamer lariats of my quickest, most imaginative words. The downy swallows will struggle in their soaring and swooping flocks under the stars, even though they are but blank, white, virgin butterflies and their only personality to speak of is something called wild. If I let them go now they would remain as such, but I need them for a much darker purpose. And to hold their fates in my two grubby hands and my fragile gossamer fishing net is a terrible freedom.
So I take them home, when I have enoug

the gust of change blows strong.
if you love me i hope you show me,
you anchor me when you hold me,
trust me baby i want things to stay the same.

Paralysed By Perfection
When you visualise the outcome
all you can see is failure.
You can't imagine anything good
It seems like a lot of work to start,
an enormous hurdle.
You might not like what you do,
it might be an embarrassment to yourself.
If you don't show it anyone then who will know
so does it matter?
It feels weird to start, forbidden and uncomfortable.
What if ideas don't come? What if it can't be expressed as I like?
I try to remember Bob Ross and his 'happy accidents'.
Does anything excellent come from the first attempt anyway?
Probably sometimes when you're in that flow
but if you've been locked down and blocked
from even starting for years it is kind of unlikely.
Even writing this seems wrong.
I'm not writing it well enough or expressing myself correctly.
What am I really scared of?
After all I can rearrange this and I can change it afterwards.
I can spend as long as I like on it.
I can NEVER show it a damn soul.
Is it that if I make something I don't li

As the 22nd day of October approached, Daniel Wolfe could hardly contain his excitement. His big brother, Jake Wolfe, had promised that it would be a day that he would never forget. That Monday night, the local football team; The Alexandria Assassins, with starting quarterback Travis McPhearson, the younger brother to Trev McPhearson – a member of J-Unit with Daniel – would be playing their greatest rivals, The Jackson Warriors. So far, The Assassins were undefeated and Monday Night Football would test them, since The Warriors were also undefeated.
“I’m going to dedicate my first Touchdown pass to you, Daniel,” Travis stated on the 20th of October after the team’s practice.”
“That would be great, Uncle Travis,” Daniel replied.
Travis smiled and hugged Daniel, who hugged back. Jake and Trev smiled as well, since over that past couple of months, all of J-Unit got to know the entire Assassins
