This past weekend I had a table at the Lubbock Comic Book Expo in Lubbock Texas, Met some great creators and fans. This was one of the sketches I did while I was there, I sold it to one of the dealers. I used India ink wash and brush on Bristol paper.
Finally some pencils and ink on paper, my favorite medium. This is the cover to my Sketchbook that I will be publishing soon. Will be a few months before it's out as I have some work to get done, but I'll definately give an update on it. After years of procrastinating I finally will do this. I'll be including drawings, sketches from my personal and professional artwork, should be fun.
Model Number: AWX-3 Code Name: Regulus Unit Type: experimental assault walker Manufacturer: Heliadonian Imperial Army Head Height: 9.7 m (excluding the antenna) Average Weight: 25 metric tons Armor Material: black cercronite alloy Powerplant: advanced hydrogen reactor
Fixed: -CGX-10 Gauss gun - an experimental automatic Gauss gun; normally low-powered, but the power can be increased at the cost of the firing rate -Mk. 4 arm vulcan - six-barrel 35 mm vulcan mounted on either or both arms, capable of firing 820 rounds per minute -.50 caliber anti-infantry machine gun
Optional: -TB-54 twin thermal blade - experimental melee weapons, edged with heat resistant xenium -A-12 hip missile launchers (not shown) - prototype 18-tube missile launchers mounted on the hips (replaces hip armor)
Production Notes The Rigel and Alphard (coming soon), Heliadon's main assault walkers, often face difficulties during the Heliadonian campaign in Earth. To address these problems, a series of experimental terrorwalks were designed, finally culminating into the AWX-3 Regulus. The Regulus' design is a hybrid of the Heliadonian assault walker and the Earth nations' humanoid fighters. It features the former's dual articulation leg design and the latter's humanoid upper body. The leg design was heavily modified so it equals if not exceed back-articulating (humanoid) legs in terms of performance under the influence of Earth's gravity. Long arms and a large backpack are also characteristic to this model. Another odd design feature is the eerily human-like head, which is a rather peculiar choice by the designers. The backpack meanwhile, is lined up with two plasma rockets and eight maneuver jets. As in any other terrorwalk, it is connected to the machine's powerplant, which is an advanced hydrogen reactor. The AHR's power output is comparable to four times that of the regular hydrogen powerplant used by second-generation terrorwalks. The machine's armor is made of black cercronite, a highly enhanced variety of the regular cercronite used by Heliadon's assault walkers. As such, the Regulus has proven itself a formidable weapon during Heliadon's Earth campaign, a bane to the French, British and German forces in Western Europe.
Side Notes -Regulus is named after the brightest star in the constellation Leo -Cercronite is a mineral mined deep beneath the Martian surface. It is named after the Cercro Labs, it's discoverer and a Mars-based research institute. -Twin thermal blades are based on the Sandrock's shotels, combined with an old similar weapon of my own concept.
Alright, so here's my new mech, the ever-so-ugly Regulus. It is actually a remake of the unnamed X-1 [link] (compare the head). My 0.3 spilled while inking this one though--explains why the main gun gets little detailing love. Anyway, I hope I can color this one as soon as I can.
That alien robot dude on the upper left, sketches of poses and some cyborgs on the lower right/center.
COI stand for Cyber-Organic Integration Company. There are currently two different cyborg companies in the story- well, one. The other one was kind of wiped out although it's creations lived on.
The COI (left) and Misonis (right) are cyborgs created by two radically different companies. Misonis was military and created military hardware to upgrade/help soldiers. Initially, anyhow. Misonis got their hands on some alien tech and used to to enchance cyborg technology alongside creating pure machines.
COI was a civilian company that had to step up after Misonis was wiped out. Although the cyborgs and robots created are capable of combat, the level of technology is still vastly different between Misonis and COI cyborgs and robots.
Well, this has been lying on my table a loong time. The first sketch is from September I think. It was waiting for lineart. And after that it was waiting to get coloured. Woo. I'm so happy I've finished this one. I like it. A lot.
I wanted to draw a piece with two representatives of two different kinds of human imagination. The fantasy and the sci-fi. So here's an elf maiden with an android. :3
I just finished Metal Gear Solid 4 recently, I was inspired, by there awesome Mechs, so I came up with my own.
Metal Gear Taurus was designed with a special nuclear generator an to be to be extremely resilient to any environmental conditions. This makes it ideal for long term conflicts. It is armed with two 10 in. chain cannons. Along with special targeting systems that can be used to call in air support, or use satellite weapons. With state-of-the-art communication systems, Metal Gear Taurus can also act as a battlefield command and control vehicle.
