Migration Swimming through the ocean. I can honestly say that there is no other feeling in the world like it. The water flowing past my tail and rushing through my webbed fingers is just amazing. I smile as one of my traveling companions, a whale, swims past me. Next to the dolphins we hunt with, whales are some of my favorite animals and I always look forward to migrating with them.
I notice that I'm falling behind and quickly swim to catch up, tightening my grip on my spear so I don't lose it. It's a special spear, one that my brother gave me a few years ago before he disappeared. The handle is made out of carved bone and has a notch carved
Thieves and Liars The security guard lounged in his chair, sipping a milkshake and gazing lazily at the ceiling. Another night guarding a bunch of rocks. Valuable or not, that's all those diamonds in the glass case were to him. A bunch of shiny rocks. Who would ever want to steal something as useless as that?Thieves and Liars5 months ago in Short Stories More Like This
He sighed and glanced towards the security monitors, expecting to see absolutely nothing. And, considering no one had tried to break in during the ten years he had been a guard, why should he expect to see anything different? But, instead of nothing as usual, he saw a shadow flicker across the screen. The man stared at the monitor for a moment b

If you are reading this, then I haven’t made it home, and I most likely never will. It was never my intention to leave you alone, and I hope that you can forgive me some day. Now only for this, but for all the ways I have mistreated you in the past. You were always so sweet, so kind, I thought I could do whatever I wanted and it wouldn’t matter. I see now that I was very, very wrong. In my long life I have had many regrets, but none so great as the regret I feel for not being a better father for you. I should have been there, I should have been there, I should have tried harder. The fact that I didn’

He flipped open his phone and held it up to his ear. "Whad'dya want, Striker?"
"We have a job," a gruff voice answered on the other end. "Get to

“Sure thing, mate,” John said with a chuckle, making a poor attempt at mimicking Seven’s thick British accent. He pulled a beer out of the fridge and slid it over the counter top to his friend, who caught it and popped the cap off.
“Don’t mock the accent,” Seven warned. “Not unless you want to get into another fight.”
“You’re just saying that because you know I’d kick your ass again,” John said with a cocky grin.
“Oh please, we all know I won last time,” Seven sai

She was sitting on a twist of metal embedded in the ground, the dingy red of its form reflecting on the crystalline surface of nearby water. Her metallic fingers twiddled in the flowers, gently caressing the pale petals that would soon decorate the entire expanse of the area.
They were modest little flowers. Fresh from the ground and eager to bathe the barren world in color. In fact, everything around the little pond Ebony and Male had decided to rest at was beginning to show signs of life. Little sprouts could be seen tentatively peaking from under scraps of metal and concrete. Green moss an
