Since we’re a little more than halfway through the year, we wanted to take some time to reflect on what it has meant to you. Before the written word became popular, many American Indians used to keep their tribe's history by drawing the most significant event of the year (in their case, something like a buffalo hunt or solar eclipse), depicted with one simple symbol, usually on an animal hide.
