Silent BoyThere once was a child,Silent Boy3 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
Who never spoke a word.
He never changed his face,
Never cried when he got hurt.
Those dearest to him stood away,
They didn't know what to do.
And since they treated him in silence,
Silence became the only thing he knew.
As the years passed and he grew
He still remained the same,
Never speaking to anyone
And for that, no one ever came.
He was always picked on,
Someone always had something to say;
Either 'you are dead inside',
Or 'your life is wasted away'.
Through all the insults, the words,
The bruises, and the pain,
He tolerated it all, turned away,
He remained silent, he never changed.
His life kept getting worse.
He was no longer shown love,
He was just another silent boy
Who only deserved another shove.
No one ever showed sympathy.
No one saw that he was torn.
No one ever saw him as a person.
To them, he wasn't even born.
But he did learn how to feel,
The dormant feelings finally awoke.
The agony he felt towards their words,
The pain from the hits and words

to figure out the worst part. cause, sure, there’s
so many bad parts, there’s so many moments
when dragging air through your mouth feels
like letting in all the water. your body becomes
your own battlefield, your mind—the most
ruthless enemy. it does not cut corners.
it will not spare you. it will leave
no summer-tinted memory untouched.
every exit sign looks like a suggestion.
if you ask someone if they are happy they will say yes
but they will not look you in the eyes.
you will never learn how to feel permanent.
you will drink grape juice and try to remember how it felt
to be holy. you will not think of yourself as wholly,
you are not complete. something vital is missing.
some dark monster has been feasting on you
when you lay down for sleep.
these are bad moments. these are scars that mar your skin
like tattoos that have too much meaning, like a map
of all the dirt roads you’ve walked down.

You don't remember how this happened, and at the moment you can't bring yourself to care. All you know is that your lungs are clenching in need of oxygen, that your arms and legs are useless in aiding you to the surface of the roiling water you're now submerged in. You don't even know which way is up.
You're drowning, and there isn't a damn thing you can do about it.
The river, lake, whirlpool, whatever it is, has got you caged and bound at the same time; the invisible currents in the dark water are preventing your limbs from moving the way you want them to, and bubbles are starting to force their way out of your nostrils and your mouth. You reach for those small pockets of air, desperately, but when your hand finally clenches around one it disperses into a million tiny bubbles, and they all skitter away from you faster than the rate you're being pulled down.
You grit your teeth in despair, the water around your eyes turning

No-one could ever know what you put in there. That pen could be some sort of clue. You chucked the journal behind the headboard of your bed. Only you could reach back there. You had the most wonderful invention ever, the dinosaur head-pick up-trigger-thing that you had no idea what its official name was. You stored that in hiding in your closet too. Once you filled that thing up, you'd throw it in a fire and watch it burn. Burn, you say. If anyone did see it, you'd stick a knife through their mouth so they could tell no-one.
You were very protective of your Journal. It held all your secrets and it was your best friend. Well, second best friend. Close second to Eridan. Oh yeah, Eridan. That guy. He was royalty compared to you, but then again he was nice enough to be buddies with a lower such as you. Your faithful journal told many wonderful tales about the se

Your head is on your desk, hands placed on top, digging your fingers into your hair in frustration. GOD YOU ARE SUCH AN IDIOT! You've tried as hard as you can not to cry, but you couldn't. You had to let it out. You explode, crying your heart out. You were serious about Terezi... and she rejected you without even thinking about your feelings! You lean up and cover your eyes with your shaky hands, hoping to keep the tears from flowing. It's futile. They just keep coming and coming.
You hear a "bleep" from your husktop. You part your hands, wiping away the annoying tears so you could see what the hell he or she wants.

Sollux's heart skipped a beat as soon as Eridan began trolling him. As much as he hated to admit it, he had a fondness for the highblood.
It was more than a fondness but he had never admitted the truth out loud and the truth was: Sollux Captor was truly madly deeply flushed for Eridan Ampora.
Never once had Eridan asked him to fill a quadrent and the mustard blood didn't know whether to be relieved or upset about this. Considering he has asked just about every other troll to do so he was completly crushed. Eridan considered them close enough to be morials but seeing as Sollux already had one, this wasn't official.
The Gemini knew he had to hide his feelings somehow and the easiest way to do this was to pretend he hated the troll. He had to pretend too often for his liking and it crushed him everytime he did so. Oh how he hated to pretend but did he have a choice? He certainly didn't think so.

Hidding all the shedded tears,
Yet, no matter my immense pain,
My world is covered in fears.
Even if I weep,
From my eyes so hollow,
I will forever keep,
My sadness, my sorrow.
Those people only know to mock,
Though the ground on which I had lain,
I bounded by a lock,
Tied to my tight, tight chain.
Beyond the stormy seas,
A hope that will perhaps mend,
The reason for my pleas,
As I am tired to pretend.
Things I don't understand,
Haunting my thoughts with confusion,
Thing hanging by a strand,
Always so fragile, a mere delusion.

“See? They’re pretty weird. Can I have my shades back now?” Dave muttered. Karkat noticed that his eyes shifted nervously. He grinned.
“You don’t like it when people see your eyes, do you? Why are you so freaked out about it?” he asked, still focused on Dave’s eyes.
“I... I dunno, it’s just... I don’t like them. Please, KK, my shades,” Dave said, managing a pleading expression.
“Yeah, yeah, hold on. Wait, is that... is that a bruise on your cheekbone?” Karkat reached forward, brushing the dark mark on Dave’s pale, freckled cheek.
Dave winced. “Yeah, it is. Don’t touch it, dumbass, that hurts. And give me my goddamn shades already!” He glared at th

"Twilight, you look so worried." Celestia said, eyes on Twilight. The young magician swallowed, trying to keep a straight face. Celestia's eyes narrowed.
"Tell me what troubles you, my little pony."
The words lurched from Twilight's mouth. "We found Luna's diary!" her eyes widened.
"Sister." Celestia called. "Come out now. It's time to let in the light." Twilight looked over her shoulder. She noticed a flash of green light under the door. It creaked open.
"Luna, no!" Twilight told her.
"I must, Twilight. We shall stand strong together." Luna stepped out of the door.
Meanwhile, in the Ponyville Library, a piece of paper came from nowhere and floated gingerly down onto the face of a pegasus sleeping on the library floor. The pegasus, still asleep, tried to blow the paper off of her.
Shall you now?" Celestia asked. She turned to Twilight. "It's time to sleep, my little pony."
Twilight stumbled. "Twilight!" Luna called her name, but it sounded so distant. Her eyelids grew

After the Princess left, Twilight was determined to get to studying. She wasn't too clear on how she was going to go about retrieving her books - maybe another teleport was in order. Twilight was just getting ready when a knock on the door interrupted her concentration. She groaned, knowing she had to answer it before Luna was disturbed.
"Wha- Oh, Spike!" Twilight was surprised to find her assistant crossly tapping his foot outside the door. He came in without her invitation.
"Where were you, Twi?" he asked, clearly indignant. "You were gone for hours! Do you know how hard it is to keep a straight face when you're lying to the Princess of Equestria?"
"One of." Twilight corrected. "And sadly, yes. I'm sorry Spike." gears turned in her head. She couldn't have spent more than an hour and a half searching for books, probably less. Yet Spike was right - it was already well into the afternoon, several hours having passed from when she began her venture. Twilight wondered just what

In words so unspoken,
And the places
No eye catches.
In the shade of behemoth movement,
Watching a life
Behind the borders of mind,
Without a breath or word
A reason to question the air above my head.
How I breathe
And am held down,
And crawl through forests
Still as the sky.
And listen to what was always there
Between branches and channels,
Learn from each
To know yourself.
And the one's you would surrender it all for.
Continue with that emblem
Out of corners.
Make the road your own.
Forget each curve
And listen in silence.
There we find answers that we only dreamed to know.

Luna was holding up well on the walk to the library, though Twilight could read the strain on her face. She didn't really know how to behave. what was expected of her? What should she do? Should she treat Luna like a fillyfriend? That didn't even answer any questions, given that Twilight had the dating experience of a particularly socially inept rock.
"Twilight? What's going through your mind?" Luna asked. Twilight realized she had been staring.
"Ah, uh...I'm sorry. I'm just nervous. I don't know what to do, I mean, about...us?" the term seemed so foreign, so odd to apply. Luna both blushed and smiled, equal parts embarrassed and elated. At least Twilight knew she wasn't alone.
"You needn't worry. All you've done, and still you want to do more." she leaned over as they walked and nuzzled the side of Twilight's neck, playing with her mane. Twilight nickered, ticklish.
"There is generosity, but there is sacrifice. For my sake, please, do not go too far."

The tables were beginning to turn. Twilight was finding more time between Celestia's attacks. Celestia still underestimated her, after all this. Twilight understood now. She had access to the plane of magic - and more than that, she was home there. Part of her mind stayed on that plane, sensing what it could. Celestia's attacks were easier to spot from there. Occasionally the alicorn moved through the sunlight, meager as it was, but Twilight could trace her. In fact, when she did that, Twilight began to figure things out. She could feel the magical shroud around Celestia. The shell she wore. It came from the elements of harmony, and Twilight was beginning to see how the elements could be used to break it, just as they had with Nightmare Moon. There was one piece missing, however. Twilight needed to find the Celestia, the real Celestia, inside the prison. The real Luna had still be inside, strong enough to endure, but she worried that if she destroyed Celestia, she would truly

Katie noticed John's drinking that night wasn't as liberal as the night before, and as it picked up he seemed to grow quieter, only speaking and moving when he finally decided to stand up and go in to find a movie for the night. He brought one of the beer-filled coolers with him. She knew it had something to do with a past memory, causing nightmares like he had the last night, but she couldn't figure out what it was exactly.
Katie didn't want to pester John about it, especially after the ominous reply she received the first time, but she wanted to know what was bothering him, maybe she could help. But, whether or not John saw it that way Katie figured she was already pushing her luck by even being there.
"Is there anythin' you'd like to watch?" John asked, him being drunk brought out the Cajun accent he did his best to disguise, although he wasn't sure why; bad grammar or something.

John took off into a brisk pace around the inside of his house after they had returned, pulling out bags of melting ice for the two spare coolers he also brought out to the front porch, he filled them with a layer of ice, and then threw a few Cokes on the ice before repeating the layering process.
He went back into the house and brought out a 24-pack of Coors Light and filled the paintball cooler with ice and the beer. Katie stood on the porch, leaning against a support beam. She looked very uncomfortable, John noticed; every time he would take a glance at her she looked jittery. Her uncomfortable look grew to alarm when John once again came out of the house, only this time holding a Mossberg 500A Tactical 12-gauge shot

Hundreds of children yelling, screaming.
Horrified wails that deafen you.
The fear is tangible,
So thick you can’t breathe,
The shame of a thousand souls.
And then, midst the howling,
A faint cry of hope,
A baby that has not yet fallen.
A child that hasn’t been tainted,
And the evil seems to be gone.
Then a cry from the child.
His voice joins the torment.
Screaming. All hope is gone.
When I hear your lovely laugh,

I long to feel the warmth of your touch,
And light your face with a smile.
I make a joke, you laugh, you smile.
