She had spent the whole morning bucking apples from the trees of her family’s orchard and had decided to take some time for herself. Just as her eyes began to drop, an enormous gust of air knocked the tan Stetson she wore straight off her head.Always connected- Chapter 12 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
“How do you expect to beat me at the next iron pony competition if you can’t even handle this orchard?” asked the cyan Pegasus with the hexachromatic mane.
“Rainbow Dash! How dare you! Ah woke up at the call of the rooster this morning just so ah’d be able to get this work done before the sleepover at Twilight’s tonight,”
“Hey, hey take it easy AJ, I was only teasing, besides the reason I’m here is to show you this awesome trick I came up with,” exclaimed Rainbow Dash. “It will have to impress the wonderbolts with its awesomeness.” Applejack rolled her eyes.

Twilight cast the spell on Applejack, merging her mind with that of the comatose Pegasus Rainbow Dash, in an effort to wake up Rainbow from her coma. The coma was a result of a brutal attack by Rainbow's former friend Gilda, the griffin. Twilight slumped down, exhausted from the effort of casting such a difficult spell. Fluttershy flew over and helped her up.
"Are you okay Twilight?" Asked the timid yellow Pegasus, Twilight nodded to indicate that she was okay. The others that had gathered in Rainbow's hospital room breathed a sigh of relief. Twilight's friends had all gathered to give Twilight support; there was Fluttershy, The white Unicorn Rarity, the pink earth pony Pinkie Pie and Applejack's Brother and Fluttershy's coltfriend Big Mackintosh.
"So what do we do now Twi." Asked Big Mac, his voice full of concern for his little sister, Fluttershy flew over and hugged him.
"We do the only thing we can; we wait." Said Twilight, she had originally intended to go into Rainbow's mind to r

Twilight was breathing heavily as she chased the Griffin Prince Alistair through the narrow back streets of the Griffin capitol city of New Grifburg. Her white and red hood and cloak flapped in the wind and Twilight could just see the barest glint of the knife embedded in Alistair's wing joint, preventing him from taking off and escaping her. She had been sent by Princess Celestia to assassinate the prince, and at first, she believed it was only to destabilise their society with the absence of the Griffin emperor Gregor, but after spending some time amongst the city's denizens, she came to the conclusion that her mission was in fact to save them all from the tyranny of the prince's regime. Alistair changed direction abruptly, heading up some stairs that were attached to the side of a building. Twilight followed, never letting him out of her sight for more than a second. He dived over the railing, landing on a gravel covered rooftop. Twilight didn't hesitate, leaping over the side. Her

Applejack and Twilight walked towards the unicorn command tent, with Applejack hoping that one of Twilight's magic books could help her gain control of her powers. Twilight walked happily along, happy to have her friend with her to do research, while Applejack was just more interested with finding the answer she wanted. They entered the tent and found Princess Luna and another pony Applejack didn't recognise. She was a Pegasus with a pale black coat and her mane and tail were the same colour as Luna's. Her cutie mark was a dark blue star and she also had one on her face, right in between her eyes. Luna looked up at them both and smiled.
"Oh Twilight, what wonderful timing, I'd like you to meet DuskDrift. She is to be my apprentice." Said Luna. Applejack looked at Twilight, whose face had changed from a look of friendliness to one of utter shock.
"Your apprentice Luna? How is that even possible? She is a Pegasus, she can't even use magic." Said Twilight, her voice had the slightest unde

Applejack adjusted the wide-brimmed purple hat that sat on her head and took a deep breath, watching as her family prepared for a battle that would decide the very fate of Ponyville. In the distance stood the largest building in Ponyville, the town hall that rested in the centre of town. At the moment however, it looked more akin to a fortress than a place to pay fines. The police that had surrounded the building were quaking in fear as uncountable amounts of arrows and magical fireballs assaulted them from the Minotaur and traitorous police that hid inside. Looking out over the battle from the balcony on the top floor was Flame, leader of the gangs that had taken over Ponyville. The smirk on Flame's face made her wish that her powers were working so that she could teleport up there and wipe it off his face. Applejack spotted the Police chief hiding behind Roseluck's florist, as the fire department tried desperately to save the stores and homes from the fireballs.

Applejack smiled as she looked at her friends, the nightmare of the last two days in her life was over and, despite the war, she felt she could give herself some time to relax. Rainbow shot her a strange look as she was being introduced to Derpy's foal and Applejack smiled awkwardly. Applejack turned to Big Mac, hoping to catch up with her big brother, but her vision kept getting drawn to the scar on his side. She saw such a drastic and heartbreaking change in her friends, changes that she wasn't sure she could adapt to. Fluttershy's new mane cut looked good on her, but the attitude that came with it worried Applejack. Twilight's eye showed Applejack just how much damage the war had caused. Rarity seemed fine, as did Pinkie, but Applejack had her suspicions that they were just as different as the others. At one point during the festivities, Applejack pulled Big Mac away from the crowd to talk to him privately. She hugged him, having missed him dearly.

Rainbow Dash and Applejack opened the door to the special ops tent, finding the Doctor, Derpy and Luna inside. Derpy cradled her foal in her arms and Luna and the Doctor were huddled over a map, discussing strategies. Luna greeted them as they entered and Rainbow and Applejack nodded in response, determined to get the truth out of the Doctor. Rainbow slapped her hoof on the table to get the Doctor's attention. He looked up at her surprised.
"Rainbow, is everything okay?" asked the Doctor, looking at her nervously.
"No Doctor, everything's not alright, you see, AJ and I need some answers. And you seem like the pony to give us those answers." She said forcefully, and Rainbow could see Derpy give her a look out of the corner of her eye. The Doctor gave her a look of sympathy.
"Girls, I understand your need for answers, but sometimes it will all be revealed if you are patient." Said the Doctor, making Rainbow more frustrated then she already was.

Rainbow Dash pulled Applejack closer, savouring her marefriend as they shared their first real kiss. She let Applejack's warmth console her, still distraught over recent events. Applejack pulled away, her green eyes looking deep into Rainbow's and smiled.
"How does it compare to the dream?" asked Applejack and Rainbow giggled.
"I don't want to ever stop." Said Rainbow, smiling wide. She kissed Applejack again, softer this time, not ever wanting the moment to end. Rainbow jumped as a flash of light appeared behind Applejack. She flipped her over, trying to protect Applejack, as the light dimmed, leaving a pony covered by a white and red hood and cloak.
"Who Who are you?" asked Rainbow, frightened of the stranger. The stranger made her way over to the two frightened ponies. She lowered her hood, revealing a very familiar purple unicorn.

Near the centre of town sat a large tree. It had originally been the town hall during Ponyville's early years. More recently, however, the tree house had become Ponyville's library. It was a place of peace in times of trouble and much to the residents' dismay, it was often damaged. The tree was bathed in the golden light of the morn, making the frost on the leaves sparkle like the stars. These were the same stars that the tree house's sole occupant, the unicorn Twilight Sparkle, had spent most of the night gazing at. Twilight turned over as the sunlight filled the room, trying to catch a few more minutes of sleep before she had to begin repairs on the hole in the ceiling that Twilight's Pegasus friend Rainbow Dash had made the day before. Rainbow Dash woke up on the wispy cloud she had come to rest on, with Celestia’s dawn sun warming her back. She dropped down from her high perch and flew back to her cloud home, and to her wife, Applejack. On the way there, her mind went back to the day before, and the imposter that had tried impersonating Applejack. The news that the imposter had brought her was troubling, distracting and hard to swallow. The imposter had told Rainbow that her whole world was a lie and Rainbow was beginning to doubt herself. The imposter had seemed so sincere, so genuinely concerned about Rainbow that she couldn’t get her out of her mind. She arrived at her home to find Applejack making a batch of Apple pancakes, Rainbow’s favourite.
‘Yuck, I wanted blueberry,’ thought Rainbow for a fleeting moment. She sat down and ate without talking to Applejack. Applejack however, talked the whole time; about the girls, the farm, how much she loved Rainbow. Rainbow was onl

Rainbow Dash stood enraged against the imposter; an exact duplicate of her wife, in all ways but the dark orange wings that Applejack now had. What was worse, the imposter had attacked her at her own home, an act of war in Rainbow’s book.
“Oh IT…IS…ON,” threatened Rainbow, the imposter was rubbing her neck after the strange attack that had knocked Rainbow onto her back.
“Please Rainbow, it’s me, Applejack, your best friend,” pleaded the imposter, beginning to tear up. “Ah know that this is hard to believe, but ya really are in a coma. Me and Big mac saved you from Gilda. You are in the Ponyville hospital, surrounded by your friends.”
“I’m gunna stop you right there, Gilda? You think Gilda attacked me. Wow she must be pretty determined to have come back from the dead,” said Rainbow mockingly.

Max sat down and took long, deep breaths, eventually regaining full control over his body. Twilight told him of her encounter with Archangel and the subsequent drugging of Max. He stretched his wings, and Twilight got a good look at her new companion. The Doctor looked along the line at his new companions, and was instantly worried, he wasn't sure he could fit in with them, or if he could bring himself to get close to any of them, given his track record with friends. Derpy looked over and smiled at him, and the Doctor smiled back, but even then, he was worried about losing her, his only friend. The Doctor had witnessed wars, and fought in many, and he knew that you never get over the scars of what you do. But here were these young girls, about to fight a war with one of the most warlike and barbaric races on the planet, and for some reason, he felt certain that these were the perfect ponies for the job. The Doctor looked back at Celestia, who was opening the chamber that housed the elements of harmony, a source of power that even his species, the time lords, had failed to understand. Celestia opened the box, and The Doctor stared at the beauty of the elements, five necklaces and a crown, all adorned with a coloured jewel, shaped lik

Derpy landed next to the Doctor, as the other elements and Celestia restrained Pinkamina.

Rainbow lazily opened an eye. She thought she heard a seagull. She slowly shifted her gaze upwards, blinking a few times, adjusting to the afternoon light. The sun was shining, making her frown. She covered her eyes with a hoof and sighed as she pieced together bits and fragments of last night's conversation. Her ears pricked up when she recognized the distinct faint scent of apples. She nuzzled her way up the orange coat and snuggled her little orange cloud.
Applejack mumbled something incoherent as Rainbow's muzzle gently bumped into hers. She stretched out her forelegs and hugged her pegasus as they both enjoyed the warm rays of the sun, shining over them. The big boat didn't completely dried after last night's storm but at least it was safely anchored near the island's shore. Twilight awoke long before the others, and decided to take a walk in the morning air. Tightening the straps that held her cloak in place, so as to keep herself warm in the winter air. She was having trouble adjusting to the climate of New Grifburg, where the snow only begun to fall halfway through the season. But even then, it was still just as cold. Sticking to the rooftops so as not to be noticed, Twilight headed toward the docks and watched the ships come into the harbour. She lowered her hood and sat on the edge of a building, allowing her mind to wander back to Equestria, and to her friends. A smile spread over her lips as she thought of Ponyville and all of the good times that seemed so far away to her now. Her cheeks turned red as she remembered what had happened just before Princess Celestia teleported her to New Grifburg. Her friend, Pinkie Pie, had kissed her, and much to Twilight's utter surprise, she had enjoyed it. Twilight had never thought of romance before, and up until

Rainbow Dark tore through the griffin army as they attacked her in force, with every move she made ending in the death of one of Gilda's kinsmen. She was one minded, focussing on getting herself to the griffin camp and ending the war once and for all. Some griffins retreated from her, as her irises glowed blood red and the smirk on her face grew. Rainbow Dark gripped one of the griffins by the throat and squeezed, laughing as she watched the light drain from his eyes. She looked around, and saw that she was alone in the sky, the clouds around her were splattered with blood and the ground below her was littered with corpses. She closed her wings and nosedived toward the ground, picking up speed as she positioned herself above the Minotaur forces that were charging at the pony camp. The resulting impact sent a wave of rainbow coloured energy rippling outward and tearing through the exposed flesh of the Minotaur. She let out a loud war cry that echoed across the now silent battlefield. Bl

Fluttershy was surprised to be sent on such a dangerous mission, but even more surprised that Twilight still hadn't come back from her mission.

Applejack's eyes were watering as the air bit at her skin, becoming almost razor sharp as she ran faster than the speed of sound. Her vision was hazed, the landscape of Equestria and all of its varied colours melding into a beautiful cacophony of light and colour. Applejack knew that it was only a mixture of luck and reflexes that was keeping her from colliding with anything along the road and becoming just an orange stain on the ground. As she approached Maneflow Springs, she took as deep a breath as she could and shot through the small town, maneuvering herself so that she had more space by running along the docks.
