The scroll of Harmen chapter 9 and 10My alarm blared through my sleeping quarters when I awoke. It was game day. Dara had organized us all to head up to the armory to get us all some gear and I was one of the first to be fitted.
I flapped my wings lazily, slowly heading up the tower to the armory floor where I was met by a particularly strong looking vulture morph. ''Morning! You must be Zorath. My name's Keith and I'll be your smith today.'' he said in a rough American accent. ''Now lets see what we can do.'' he pulled out a tape measure and began measuring my body. ''Been hearing a lot about you kid. Something about a scroll if the rumors are anything to go by.'' I chuckled. It was funny being slightly famous.
''yeah. A thing called the scroll of harmen, dusty piece of paper that turned me into a lizard.'' I joked, getting a laugh out of the bird.
''whatever the case you sure can fly. I saw you yesterday and even after only being changed for a short time you show some serious skill'' he reached behind me and pulled some
The Digital Alterverse - chapter 1Henry was thrilled when he heard he received a code for the VUP launch day. His friend Drakeagle had sent him the code over deviantART and proceeded to enter it into the purchase area of the VUP official site. The Digital Alterverse - chapter 11 year ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
''Congratulations! You have been selected by Lord Zorath himself to join him in the spotlight for the launch of VUP. Just enter your address and we will send your pod. Also, Enter your username on the site you received this code from to have your characters pre-loaded onto your account'' the page read out when he finished typing. Henry quickly entered everything he needed, including his account name, KettouRyuujin.
It took a few days to arrive, but when the Virtual Universe Pod appeared at his door Henry was ecstatic to say the least. He signed the delivery man's note and wheeled it into his front room.
The entire thing looked like it was from a Sci-fi movie. The outer casing was broken into smaller panels, some with buttons and levers while others had strange l

Walking among the crowds was a man dressed in a thick winter coat, scarf and gloves with a pair of large glasses. His blonde hair waved in the wind slightly while his brown eyes burned with determination.
He finally arrived outside the school only a moment later. His watch told him he had around 10 minutes before he could execute his plan so he made his way into position up a large oak tree just outside of the fence surrounding the playground and waited patiently.
Danice and Evan had been dating for a month or two now. They had both secretly liked each other since they were 9 but neither could pluck up the courage to ask the other out. Everything finally fell into place when Evan's friend Dan had dared him to ask her out. After taking an onslaught of taunts from his friend he finally ag
End of the human race? The sun was setting on another glorious winter night. The date; 20th of december 2012. Zorath was gazing out of his window, waiting for his parents to get back. His parents had gone to collect Shiva's birthday present for tomorrow and left him in charge. Although his sister was younger Zorath often went to bed before her but tonight he had to wait until their return to switch off for the night.End of the human race?1 year ago in Short Stories More Like This
He left his window and returned to his desk, pulling up the news. Already large batches of people were doing crazy things, believing the end of the world would soon be upon them. He snickered at the thought. Just because some old Mayans ended their calendar on the 21st didn't mean the world would end. It was possible but very unlikely.
He closed the tab after reading about the man who had gone on a killing spree in London and opened up Deviantart to check for the usual stuff. He gave out a few favorites and comments before shutting down for the night. He made his way downstairs, grabbed himself

It had taken a few more days since Shinkou joined him, but now his digital world was ready to go. Another friend had recently joined, Rob, and was now quite at home in his own world. Both of them were now his main administrators and had settled into their roles rather quickly. With the beta phase now complete, the next few days would truly test everyone's skills to the limit.
''30 minutes to the conference, sir,'' Zorath's cyber gauntlet chimed in a butler voice. The dragon was very glad that he had made this piece of kit. He personally loved the look of the wrist mounted device as it was, but it could be changed to a large selection of other attire as Shinkou had demonstrated with his necklace version. The voice function was only a recent feature the Alterverse's maker had added, allowing the gauntlet to provide notices, reminders, and other services without hav
The Scales - Part 4The sky screamed as it set alight. All around people were fighting, bullets going everywhere tearing planes and myths from the sky. Zorath heard a high pitched scream and gasped in horror as Ai began to fall, her wings ablaze. By the time he caught up to her she was already gone, another life claimed by misunderstanding. He had hoped dragons would be accepted after a show of intelligence and a peaceful meeting. All it did was speed up the inevitable and now his only light in the darkness had been extinguished. The Scales - Part 48 months ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
Zorath awoke with a start, sweating heavily after such a vivid dream. Ai was still sleeping beside him, making the dragon sigh with relief. It had only been a dream yet that dream could become reality if they weren't careful.
Soon enough they were both awake and they stretched themselves out. The new limbs were still an odd feeling to the both of them and the other two subjects', Steve and Tyler, loss was still heavy on their minds.
''Maybe they're ok Zorath''

A few days later and the creator of the device, now known as the Virtual universe pod or VUP for short, was preparing for the worldwide launch. Already the demand exceeded expectations and everyone was working around the clock to get everything shipped on time. Zorath was very excited about what this could do for everyone and wanted to share his moment in the spotlight with his friends so he created some special codes that would grant a 100% discount to a purchase of VUP.
The young inventor sent them off through the internet to his friends across the world and proceeded to shut down his computer for the last time. He would have one on his wrist at all times in his universe. He stepped into the metallic pod, flicking the door switch and preparing for the shock of his mind being transferred into the

''Another one?'' Zorath complained as he, Shinkou and Edge entered the main Headquarters. They got a few surprised looks but were quickly dismissed as they recognized their boss. ''We need to get into the main lab now,'' the creator told the secretary. A wave of the ID later and the three were in the belly of the beast.
All along the room were massive computers, acting as the servers for the entire Alterverse. Towards the end of the room were the main work areas, occupied by technicians. At its center was a large monitor showing all the information about the world and errors currently active. Sure enough most of that screen was filled by error messages from Rex's VUP.
''Good to see you back sir!'' Mathew, the head technician said as they reached the main screen. ''We've dispa

The vast desert area had very little in terms of life. Only the occasional Tusker herd broke the endless yellow of the sands. The pig-like creatures groped together and ran southwards, towards the much more inhabitable jungles that lay there.
Many wouldn't make it though as a group of four wolf creatures materialized in the air above them, landing atop the group and taking out at least five. The voracious predators of the sands had become the apex predator here, their six eyes with protective film gave them an edge in the visuals department and their ability to teleport short distances made them very dangerous.
A mile or so east sat a small shack, created from odd pieces of metal the owners h

He was certainly out early compared to usual. He had decided to get a mark on the back of his hand checked out after it began to darken. With no idea what it was it was always a good idea to get a professionals advice.
''Hi. I'm here for my appointment at quarter past 7?'' he asked the receptionist who didn't even look up and pointed to a door towards the end of the hall. ''Thanks.'' he said quickly and then made his way along the corridor.
The doctors office was very dull. His computer looked ancient and the decor wasn't much better. Various images of flowers covered the white walls and the single window in the room overlooked the road outside. A bed was pushed against the wall and sat on the office
The Digital Alterverse - chapter 4''Nick. Get me the flight that will get me from Manchester to D.C the fastest. I dont care if you need to rent a private plane - I need to find out what happened.'' This was Zorath's worst nightmare. He should have placed their camp further away from the hill. That Spinosaurus would have missed them completely if he had, but instead he was dealing with the possible deaths of two top employees.
He logged himself out and exited his VUP in a right huff. The taxi arrived and he hopped on in. ''The airport and step on it!''
While in the air the great inventor let his mind wander as to what the possibilities of this situation were. In the worst case they would both be dead
The scroll of Harmen chapter 1A Shopping center. How original. The scroll of Harmen chapter 11 year ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
As we were drawing close to Christmas my parents had decided to drag me out of the house and get some shopping done. It was the usual affair of march around every shop then go back through it to collect what you liked. I never get why we end up going around every shop. A waste of time if you ask me.
Anyways, we were now trudging around H &M looking for a present for my grandad. I had managed to cut myself off from the rest of the family and had found a nice new T-shirt with an eagle on it, my favorite creature bar dragons but I already had a million T-shirts with them on and a bit of change is always good.
By the way I'm Zorath, well its not my real name but everyone calls me that or just drake. I'm a 6 foot 2 16 year old guy with dark brown hair. My skin Is quite pale and glasses sit on the end of my nose. I describe myself as relatively thin even though I always end up eating a lot. The only thing that seems slightly odd about me are my eyes. Ev

The scales kept climbing Arakod's arm changing to a darker brown in intervals to create stripes that wrapped around his arms. Sharp black claws burst from his fingers as his hands became more paw like in appearance. He felt a similar sensation overtake his legs before the scales began to envelop them too. They moved along his limbs and across his back, creating some striped pattern there. At this point he could no longer stand. Bone and muscle rearranged to support Arakod's new way of walking. Legs became digitgrade as his paw pads grew in over his four feet.
It felt like two trucks were pulling him in opposite directions as his spine lengthened to create a new tail and a longer neck. His underbelly began to itch as large brown scutes forced their way out of his s

Abria filled us in. by now his muzzle was growing in and a tail was squirming out of his trousers. ''Come on dad. Everything's going to be fine'' I whispered, hoping to keep him calm. My mother had now moved out from behind the door and , though scared, moved slightly closer.
''Look mum. I'm not going to eat you and neither is Rex.'' I said chuckling. Dad's changes were reaching their end, wings filling with their white membrane, teeth sharpening and hair growing out into a black mane running down from head to tail that now ended in a similar point to mine. His eyes slowly reopened revealing the yellow reptilian slits he had now developed.

''What happened?'' I said mouth agape.
''turns out the humans are quick and ruthless. They not only opened the portal but they stretched it enough to begin to destabilize on our side. Everyone is being sent through the emergency portals to earth before the portal destroys absolutely everything. Now come on we've got to move, only... half an hour to get there.'' Rex launched up from the cave with me in close pursuit. We weaved in and out of buildings slowly being engulfed in fire until we landed before the city hall again.

''Your welcome!''Ai replied happily as she stared at the clouds above. Both dragons were much better adjusted to their bodies now, having flown from the base in england to this beach on wings alone. Now they were out here they didn't have to worry about any intrusions from work.
Well that was until a shadow beneath the water decided to rear its head amongst the swimmers out in the ocean. A Lagiacrus was certainly an odd sight all the way down here on the coast of spain but any monster was a serious threat to the public. The two dragons stopped their relaxing at once, pulling an arm in front of themselves as if reading the time.

He even wore some military uniform to add to his hardened look.
Beside him stood an elegant bird with a white chest covered in black spots. Instead of usual arms she h

You're still that lone soul,
But this time
You feel a presence
Building up inside you, slowly.
You can now see truly,
You open your eyes
And witness something incredible.
You've noticed your hand,
Yet it is no longer that.
You see claws spurting out from your fingertips,
Your nails, fallen to the floor.
It looks painful
But you feel nothing.
Nothing but the strength
Still growing inside you
Now making its way to the surface,
Changing you slowly...
You watch as your fingertips fuse.
As five becomes three,
Your new claws growing longer
With each passing second.
You stare in amazement
Not sure what to feel...
Shock? Fear? Awe?
But there is one thing.
One single feeling
Surging through your body...
One feeling whose existence
You cannot deny.
It flows through your veins
Filling you with the energy
Of the beast within.
Now freeing itself
From the depths of your soul...
Yet this power cannot be contained so easily.
Moonshifters - 1The torches flickered throughout the Treetop village of Coed, the light they emitted allowing one of the inhabitants to see where she was going as she traversed the various pathways. Wait what? His brain shrieked in protest as a new tail and a pair of wings became apparent to his nervous system. A quick test found them perfectly functional and natural to use which was very strange indeed. The next noticeable change was his new scaly covering. His clothes had been ripped into little pieces and his skin was now completely replaced with scales, grey scutes traveling up his chest and red patterns crossing the black ones elsewhere.
The new point of view was strange too. He was now looking down the side of his new muzzle, complete with razor sharp fangs, two nostril holes and a short horn on top. His hair was also missing, now replaced with a pair of long curved horns and a collar of spikes surrounded his neck.
Bringing his tail into view he found it moved like a co
The Scales- Part 2When Zorath re awoke he was in a much smaller room. He was lying on a very basic looking bed pushed against a wall with a computer at the end. At least their captors left some sort of entertainment. He brought himself back to his feet and took a look out of the barred front of his now apparent cell. Opposite him was Ai's cell. She was still out like a light and he didn't feel like waking her. His arm was itching slightly now and he still had no idea where this was and why he was here. The itching was getting worse too. Scratching provided some relief until it started to sound like he was scraping metal. A quick glance down sent Zorath sprawling backwards. What had they done to him?

Pre-recorded voices greeted him from the ceiling far above: “Welcome to Helena Pharmaceuticals! Your Key to a Better Life!”
