THE CHURCH OF GOOGLISMSTEP 1: The problem.THE CHURCH OF GOOGLISM2 years ago in Personal More Like This
You have a problem.
Don't tell me you don't have problems.
Everyone has problems.
Determine what your biggest problem is.
Don't have a big problem? Too scared to admit it?
You can start smaller- How about a small problem?
How about something that concerns/bothers/confuses you today/this week/recently?
Come up with a bunch of keywords that describe your problem.
STEP 2: Ask google for solution to your problem.
Google your question using ALL the possible keyword combinations that your problem relates to or has in it.
See if anyone already has a similar problem or has already resolved it.
Take 3 hours if you must.
Finding correct information can get tough, especially if it is obscure, hidden, answered incorrectly or has conflicting answers.
Answers without proper sources or evidence are generally incorrect and should be disregarded.
If there are too many conflicting solutions and opposing answers and you're not sure which is correct,
Use the principle of
AMBER SNIPPY'S FATE?I've had that dream again.AMBER SNIPPY'S FATE?3 years ago in Personal More Like This
That strange place, so distant, yet so close to my heart. Buildings as tall as mountains.
Dead structures, watching with dead eyes. Empty, vast and endless honeycombs of stone and steel. Air filled with gray ashes, always fluttering from the cloudy sky.
The black vortex opens up in the sky, descending down to the city. The vortex spiral rips the city apart, bending the air itself, feasting on light, feasting on time.
There is a lonely figure standing in the street.
No matter how hard I try to make out his or her expression, I cannot. Is there no face there at all? Or perhaps there is a million human faces there, intertwined and flickering in unison, as bright as the light of ten thousand suns?
The being stares into the abyss of the vortex.
It takes another step towards it, into the horizon of nothingness, into a place where nothing can exist.
The stones of the roadway beneath its feet crumble and flutter in t
Small UpdateI've been gone from the internet for almost 2 1/2 months now, and chances are I won't be coming back for quite a while longer. Nevertheless I just wanted to give a quick update and thank all my fans who have been so supportive of me these past few weeks/months.Small Update2 years ago in Personal More Like This
I've been amazed at the number of genuine well wishes that I've received. I think the vast majority of my fans genuinely do enjoy my doodles and cartoons and that the well organized and extremely vocal "haters" of me and my work make up a very very VERY small percentage of my watchers. There have been some absolutely wonderful comments and messages being sent my way, and several of you have even sent me links to advice sites or inspirational posts. I truly do appreciate it. Thank you so very much.
I don't say Thank You enough, I think. Because of my fans I've been able to do some amazing things and I owe you guys a lot. Because of you'all, I've been able to visit another country and make friends from all over the world, somethin

Over the past couple of days I've posted either illustrations about controversial issues or made journal posts with potentially polarizing topics. But wonderfully, the vast majority of the responses to those have been overwhelmingly intellectual and well thought out discussions. I just wanted to thank everyone who participated in those discussions because I know how easily it all could've devolved into opinionated attacks, arguments, and "drama." It really makes me happy to see that I can put out a topic and people can discuss said topic without being a jerk about it. That's truly fantastic and I am very happy users proceeded with calm and collected responses. It's been a treat to read through them all.
Booklet Printing Help?
As I said before, during my time away from the internet I've been working on a bunch of illustrations that I am hoping to have printed into small booklets for conventions. The point of these booklets is to keep the costs down (maki

HOW DO I KICK IT OUT?
History Repeats ItselfLast week a Connecticut action group going by the name of SouthingtonSOS held a video game burning event where local citizens were encouraged to bring various forms of violent media to be burned in a dumpster, no doubt a reaction to the recent Connecticut shooting.History Repeats Itself2 years ago in Personal More Like This
I wish I could say I am surprised about this, but sadly the whole media frenzy surrounding violence in video games and movies reminds me of something that already happened once and profoundly affected the media it was accusing: Comic books.
During the early days of comic books, things occasionally got a little risqué. EC Horror comics in particular delighted in rendering extremely gruesome images and disturbing themes in their comics, which were being sold to children unbeknownst to their parents (because naive parents at the time had no reason to suspect comics might contain "inappropriate" material). However all that changed in 1954.
German-American psychiatrist Fredric Wertham was upset about how disturbing some of those

Booklets, Conventions, Livestreams?BookletsBooklets, Conventions, Livestreams?2 years ago in Personal More Like This
I mentioned before that I was working on putting together art booklets to sell at conventions. I just got my proofs in and they're looking pretty darn good. The print quality is great and the price for me is reasonable. As of right now I have at least 6-7 booklets planned, with 1 that is finished, and one that is about 90% finished. I'm planning to sell these really cheaply at conventions ($3-$5 depending on how many pages) and possibly even open it up to online orders. They're gonna be full of entirely new artwork too. I've been spending a lot of time working on these so I hope they're worth the investment.
Speaking of conventions, I haven't heard back yet from several of them so I honestly don't know what my convention schedule looks like for 2013. I'm still not even sure if I should be attending conventions period, given the recent health issues I've been struggling with lately. I'd like to return for MCM London, but the airline fees are so expensi

Lucre: 1Aira gasped in shock as the low-pitched noise boomed through her room, startling her awake. She had no idea what the noise was, but the sheer volume had caused the house to rattle in its frame, the surrounding trees rustling angrily. She was amazed that her parents haven't woken up yet, as she couldn't hear anything coming from their room.Lucre: 15 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
Uneased, Aira turned her body and slipped her bare feet into her sneakers, reaching over and grabbing her coat from the back of the doorknob. A need to investigate the noise had come over her, as it had overcome many other humans before her, a basic instinct to understand the world around them. She slipped her coat over her shoulders, loose flannel pajamas fluttering as she moved, and walked out her door and down the stairs, heading for the kitchen.
Reaching the door, she hesitated before turning the knob, wondering if she should wake up her parents. But, she had wandered these woods before at night on her own, so why should she be scared now?
Tobi's ChristmasTobi was walking calmly through the woods around the Akatsuki base when he saw it.Tobi's Christmas5 years ago in Fan Fiction More Like This
"Hello? Can Tobi ask what you are?" he chirped, kneeling down to poke at the strange creature.
The creature popped up, and Tobi shrieked and jumped away, waving his arm around like a chicken. Well, what would you do if some strange creature you found in the woods suddenly moved?
"Tobi-san, I'm an elf from the North Pole, and I've come to tell you something important", it said in a high-pitched voice, and Tobi kneeled down to its height to talk to it.
"Oh my god, an elf-chan! Elf-chan is so cute!" Tobi squeed.
Well, talking might be a little overrated.
"Yes, Tobi-san, I know", the poor creature managed to gasp out from between Tobi's enthusiastic hugs. "But Tobi? Can you put me down? I have to tell you something."
Tobi immediately dropped the elf, who landed on the ground with a nice THUMP! He glared up at Tobi for a second, then rubbed his butt and stood up, top of his head level with the kneeling Tobi's
