Some say they never were,
And were birthed from imagination.
The same say that fantasy
Is the realm of children and the insane.
To believe in the magical, the mythical,
And the fantastic
Is to be as a child or a madman.
I am neither and I believe in dragons.
The majestic Lords of skie
Born of fire.
In an averie of flames
The eggs lie
Warmed by mothers breath.
Emerging weak and hungry,
Unfurl for the first time.
For mothers attention.
Noble, proud and powerful
Lords of the skie
Reach the very stars with
A thermal sigh
And one thunderous wingbeat.
Upon the winds they soar

AMPHISBAENA - An African dragon with two heads, one at the end of its long tail and at the head end. It has a curiously bird like body with the feet of a rooster, and by grasping the tail head with the other is able to travel by rolling around in this hoop. Usually portrayed as having a scaly body and a pair of feathered wings. The modern day lizard was named for this known dragon.
AMPHITERE - This type of dragon can be found in Britain, the Middle East, Egypt, and several Latin American countries such as Peru. Their appearance is similar to that of a gigantic jade-colored snake with multi-colored feathered wings, and some also possess a single pair of front legs. In European and Middle Eastern countries, the Amphitere is known to possess all the secrets of the world save one, and are born with such fantastic powers as hypnotic eyes, which are usually invested in guarding the treasures of the land, like myrrh trees, gold, and other assorted riches. For over 60 years, we have often been shown adverts and public information films (PIFs) that attempt to protect us from our own stupidity. These adverts have a range of subject matters, from seatbelts, safe sex and smoking to burgulary, drink driving and crossing the road.
While some of these adverts portray their subject with a slight sense of humour, letting us have a laugh while presenting their message to us, some of these ads and PIFs are downright terrifying, leaving us mentally scarred and scaring the crap out of us in order to get the point across.
The majority of these adverts were created by the COI (Central Office of Information), which is now closed down after over 400 job cuts. So, in tribute to them, here's some examples of scary adverts and public information films that left their mark on our psyche:

Positive Aspects of Asperger Syndrome...(Not by me)Positive Aspects of Asperger Syndrome...1 year ago in Personal More Like This
Asperger's Syndrome is NOT all about dysfunction and disability etc. There are many good points and advantages to being an Aspie. Here's a refreshingly different perspective from the medical profession, by Dr Tony Attwood…
From my clinical experience I consider that children and adults with Aspergers Syndrome have a different, not defective, way of thinking.
The person usually has a strong desire to seek knowledge, truth and perfection with a different set of priorities than would be expected with other people. There is also a different perception of situations and sensory experiences. The overriding priority may be to solve a problem rather than satisfy the social or emotional needs of others.
The person values being creative rather than co-operative.
The person with Aspergers syndrome may perceive errors that are not apparent to others, giving considerable attention to detail, rather than noticing the "big p
Funny True Story...(Not by me)Funny True Story...1 year ago in Personal More Like This
In 1992, a suspicious looking package was delivered to the Territorial Army centre in Bristol, UK.
With no record of where it had come from and the possibility it could be dangerous, the TA eventually decided they should call the Police.
The Police soon arrived and took stock of the situation before swiftly deciding that this wasn't a job for them either, and so they called in the Army Bomb Disposal Experts.
When the Army arrived, they evacuated the area and sealed it off, before carrying out a controlled explosion on the suspicious looking package.
It was only after the device had been made safe that it was discovered that the package was in fact a parcel full of leaflets on How to deal with suspicious looking packages.
The Territorial Army, the Police and the Army congratulated themselves on a job well done.

A burglar is in your kitchen and you're in the hallway. What are you going to shout at them to threaten/scare them and get them to leave (if you don't want to fight).
Try and make what you say be short and punchy.

There are 10 simple ways that I usually do to beat artist's block and kill the beast once and for all.
1) If you cannot think of what to draw or paint, try study or copy from master artists. This is a good opportunity for you to challenge yourself and you will discover new things along the way copying the work of artists you like and admire such as John Singer Sargent, Frank Frezetta, or any great artists. Don't get bitten-
Get a bottle instead
Add a few drops..........
They wont drop dead
They'll just visit your neighbor instead ))
Simply fill a spray bottle with tap water and add 10-15 drops of peppermint essential oil. Give it a smell to make sure the water smells minty, if not add a few more drops. Then you simply need to spray the peppermint water in the cracks and gaps where spiders can enter your home.
Spiders do not like peppermint oil. The strong smell will send them scurrying in the other direction and away from your home.
For an even more potent remedy add one or two drops of peppermint oil onto a cotton bud and place in the areas where spiders enter. It's as simple as that!
51 Amazing Uses for Baking Soda...(Not by me)51 Amazing Uses for Baking Soda...3 months ago in Personal More Like This
I don't mean to sound seditious here, but I have a rebellious plan to combat the ills that many corporations are perpetrating in the name of fighting grime and germs. My main gripe is about the environmental pollutants from cleaning and personal care products that we wash down our drains and into our water systems, resulting in situations like the chemical triclosan (a pesticide added to many products as an antibacterial agent) being found in dolphins.
So the simple plan is to encourage everyone to use baking soda in any of these 51 applications. Besides showing kindness to aquatic life, we can also protect ourselves from the array of toxins in household cleaning products. Conventional cleansers can expose us to multiple chemicals linked to asthma, cancer, and other documented health problems.
How To Survive a Poltergeist...(Not by me)How To Survive a Poltergeist...2 months ago in Personal More Like This
When your family is the victim of the unseen forces of a poltergeist, the solution might surprise you
KNOCKS ON WALLS, objects thrown about by unseen hands, furniture moved around by the invisible, water dripping inexplicably from ceilings where no pipes are hidden, even small fires breaking out. These are classic manifestations of what has become known as poltergeist activity.
As the word itself implies (poltergeist translated from the German means "noisy ghost") such manifestations were long thought to be the mischievous pranks of spirits or, more frightening, the malevolent works of demons. Most researchers today, however, theorize that poltergeist activity is not the work of spirits (either impish or evil) at all. Thanks largely to the work of parapsychologist William G. Roll in the 1950s and '60s, they are now commonly understood to be psychokinetic manifestations produced by living persons. (Psychokinesis refers to things being moved solely by the power of the mind.)
