This is a matte painting/digital painting I did for Luke Keith as well. Everything is mainly painted although some textures from sxc.hu were used to achieve more realism. It looks like I use less and less pictures and paint more in these kind of works as time passes by!
They told me to do a futurist underground city with water and lava. It was really time consuming doing the city xD but I have to upload some closeups so you can see all details
It took 2 weeks to finish everything.
Wacom graphire + Photoshop CS4
More info about this project is going to be found soon in www.lukekeith.com
Dylan Cole and Raphael Lacoste are always a great inspiration!

Back to landscapes for a while
So, I wanted to paint a castle lost in time and space. Some kind of oriental and occidental mixture in architecture. The first sunlights are touching the temple walls as the village awakes. As a village, there is a central temple and the slums with poor families placed all around it. On the left I tried to paint some sort of market.
As usual, around 6000x9000px to be printed at 60x90cm. About 55hours to achieve all detail when printed at that size.
Everything painted in Photoshop. Textures used from www.cgtextures.com, especially the ones from Jonas de Ro, and www.sxc.hu.
