Mera Society Revamp Chapter 21Change
Jaik spent the rest of the week adjusting back to life in mera territory, though he spent some afternoons and nights in the royal caves with Sam. It wasn't always sex, but it got close a lot of the time. After taking his work in to the school with Shay on his first day back, he quickly realised how easy it was to lose track of time in the wild territory that Pandora reigned over. What he'd at first thought was Wednesday turned out to be Monday, and he then remembered that Shay had been walking around at about midday when she'd met up with him in the tunnels.
The teachers were astounded by how quickly he'd managed to read through the many textbooks containing some eight or more years of work, but he put it down to the many years spent reading through Hannah's textbooks to help her with her homework and the few assignments that he'd done with her before his life there ended and his life as a true mera began. His memory recall also came from that, as he'd learned to remember key id
Mera Society Chapter 1The first thing Jaik noticed when he woke up was that the place he was in was very warm. The second thing he noticed was that it was lit by a very warm, fire-like glow. There was also a sulphurous smell, like volcanic gases. When he sat up, he found out why.Mera Society Chapter 12 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
He was in a large cave, in the centre of which was a natural pool of magma. He'd been lying near a small tunnel, but he couldn't really see down it because it was too dark. Standing up, he walked over to the pool of magma and looked into it, not expecting to see anything.
"You're awake," he heard a female voice say, and he looked over to a tunnel entrance to see a female mera walk out. Black hair fell to her waist, looking messy, and a black leather dress covered grey scales.
"Who are you?" Jaik asked, walking towards her. "And where am I?"
"Woah, one question at a time," the other mera laughed, walking over to the magma pool and sitting on the edge with her feet in it. She relaxed for a few moments, tilting her head back and closi
Late Night BondingThe metallic parts on the rope structure gleamed in the moonlight as the two meras approached the playground. The loud voices of drunken teenagers reached the ears of the power-guardian mixture first, but it was loud enough that Alin heard it soon afterwards.Late Night Bonding1 year ago in Short Stories More Like This
"I wanted to play on the web thing," Alin pouted, watching as the figures of humans ascended the rope framework.
"And you'll get to," Sam promised him. "Just as soon as I deal with them."
"You're only a King in mera territory. Here, you hold no sway," Alin reminded him, "Especially over those drunkards."
"You're doing a horrible job at bonding," Sam commented. "Now, shut up so they don't hear us." Alin quieted his whining and winced at the thump of a human falling from the jungle gym
"You're not going to help him, are you?" Alin queried. Sam held up a hand to quiet him and snuck over to the still form of the body on the ground. He grabbed it and dragged it back to where Alin stood.
"You can go play now," Sam informed him. Al

After leaving the library, Jaik and Hannah flew to the King's cave. The tunnels were large and high enough for flying, so their feet didn't have to touch the ground until they were standing before the King and Queen where they were back on their thrones.
"You look as though you have something to tell me," the King stated, looking at Jaik. "Your glow is sparkling and you would not have flown otherwise."
"We know what Pandora's plan is," Jaik said in a rush. "She's going to wage war with the humans, expecting it to go the same way it did when Emerald lived."
"She is quite foolish," Gerald sighed. "That will jeopardise the safety of all meras."
"She must be stopped," Chloe agreed. "But how? We can't put her in a stone box again; her daughter broke her out last time. And if she's spreading the word of war around, I can't imagine what would happen if we did something terrible to her."
"But her meras are idiots," Jaik pointed out. "Without their leader, they're like um..."

My HeroI’m not normally the type of girl to write in a diary, especially about a guy I like, but then again I’m not normally the girl to be making goo-goo eyes at a guy either, and I’ve been doing that a heck of a lot lately. Apparently it’s normal for a princess to fall in love with her hero, but I’m a president now. Do presidents still fall in love with their heroes? I guess so, but it still feels too girly for me. But I can’t help it, I love him.My Hero7 months ago in Romance More Like This
There, I’ve finally wrote that down. And it didn’t hurt too much, but I’ll probably come back and scribble it out later just in case someone reads through my diary. I don’t trust anyone with my secrets, not even him. And of course I couldn’t trust anyone with a big secret like this. It could get out and make everyone laugh at me. The big, bold president fell in love with a smelly hobo. But he’s my smelly hobo. And he doesn’t even smell that bad anymore!

He is shorter than average meras, being only around 1 metre 60 centimetres. He has light pink skin and light ginger hair that is quite fine. He has beautiful dark green eyes and his leathery wings are as big as they should be, making him look strange because of his wingspan. He originally wore material of hessian, but he upgraded to soft leather after becoming Sam's mate. Sometimes he allows Dawn to dress him up in human clothes, but only to make her happy. He glows colours that change with his mood. He glows yellow when he's happy, pink when he's feeling loving, black when he's hurt, green when he feels sick or is sick, dark red when he's angry, bright red when he's feeling lusting, dark blue when he's sad, and purple when he's feeling loved.

And Now, The WeatherCarlos hummed along to the song coming from the little radio on his desk. He always enjoyed listening to Cecil’s voice as he worked, no matter how busy he was or how much concentration was required. While he still wasn’t entirely sure why music here was referred to as “the weather”, he was fine to let that particular sleeping dog lie. He found that humming relieved some of the tension that came with trying to sketch diagrams and graphs onto his computer rather than paper. The fact that the town had outlawed pencils, pens and paper was also something that he never really understood. And Now, The Weather4 months ago in Romance More Like This
When his work was finally done, the scientist stretched in his chair and quickly became aware of two things: one, that it had grown late; and two, that the radio had gone onto its next program of white noise. That could only mean one thing...
“Hello, Cecil,” he greeted his boyfriend, rising from his seat and walking across the room to embrace him. He didn

Strangely enough, the only one who could hurt Wheatley was also the only one who could comfort him- GLaDOS.
GLaDOS had said that she found the way humans created other humans ridiculous, but there was one part of it that she didn't mind- kissing.
Having that Intelligence-Dampening-Sphere around hadn't just made her less intelligence; it also made her… soft.
There was just one weakness in the human bodies that she couldn't eliminate- the ability to feel pain, which Wheatley proved every day by doing stupid things like jumping in bottomless pits to see if it would hurt.
Those damn potatoes shouldn't have been so traumatising… but there they were, sitting there mocking her- mental note, throw those to the birds or in the incinerator.
While the facility was still being rebuilt, the rain had been a threat through the hole in the roof but now it was good to fall asleep listening to while holding him.
The Mansion of a Celebrity"Welcome one and all to the annual royal family egg hunt!" Claire announced to the crowd standing in front of her. The crowd was only a small one, but Claire always had to be showy. It consisted of Jaik, Sam, Chloe, Gerald, and Dawn. All of them were there for, as she had said, the annual royal family egg hunt. It was the second time Jaik had been to this mansion, but he'd never really had a look inside. As it turned out, he wouldn't be getting a proper look inside this time either. The Mansion of a Celebrity1 year ago in Short Stories More Like This
Jaik knew nothing about the hunt, he'd just been invited to Claire's mansion by Sam with the promise of playing a game.
"So what's the egg hunt all about?" Jaik asked the Prince.
"It's a royal tradition. Every Easter, the royal family goes an egg hunt," Sam explained. "It's very fun, even if it is a little scary. But you'll only ever come out with a few scratches."
"Humans have Easter egg hunts but I'm guessing this isn't anything like the human version," Jaik remarked. Knowing that Sam wouldn't know how hu

"Where is my daughter?" Pandora asked calmly. Her claws barely twitched, though she looked very pale and up close her scales were thinner. She wore a dress but it was a little more filled-out in the front and she looked smaller.
"She is in mera territory. She was injured but our healer healed her and now she is fine," Jaik replied, stepping closer to her and sending out a tendril of his glow from his left fingers.
"Well, if it isn't the fragile little Jaik. Tell me, how did your wounds heal?" Pandora smirked, which made Jaik growl.
"They healed perfectly fine," he said through gritted teeth. Seeing that Jaik was clearly upset at Pandora's question, Hannah decided to step in and say something.
"Pandora, you look sick," she stated outright.
"I'm not sick," the Queen scoffed, but even then she flattened her palm against the bonnet of the car and appeared to lean heavily against it.
"I think you are," Hannah argued. "Or there's something wrong with you, anyway. Your

"And what makes you think that finding the place where I found you will help you find your mum?" Hannah asked, sitting down at the table. They'd walked from the clothing boutique to a cafe down the road after paying for the clothes, and now the plastic bag handles fluttered in the slight breeze.
"Well, I was only young and young meras don't tend to wander far from home. Judging from that, I think I wasn't too far from home when you found me," Jaik pointed out.
"Or maybe she's here," Hannah suggested. "You were from a breeding farm and they're really difficult to escape from unless the escapee is a fully-grown mera or can manipulate metal. You were so young that you couldn't fly, and you couldn't escape through the fence because they're pretty escape-proofed. The only way you could've escaped was with the help of your parents, though they would've had to somehow pick the lock. I can't say much because I don't know what their powers were, but that's all I can guess. M

Hannah couldn't believe that the mera who'd dragged her into this was the same one lying there. Her hair was tangled with sticks caught in it, and there was a dark patch on the front of the long jumper she wore that was either blood or dirt. She was filthy, the blue of her skin barely visible.
"What did you do to her?" Jaik asked, his glow blue.
"We tried to catch her but she put up a bit of a fight," explained a muscled black guardian mera. "So we had to use force, but we tried not to hurt her too much."
"She was unconscious when they brought her in," Sam offered, coming out of a tunnel. "I know you were her friend once, Jaik, but she's the enemy now. Especially since she invaded our territory after she was forbidden from ever coming here again."
"Can you talk?" Jaik asked Lyra, crouching down beside her.
"Course I can, I'm not a baby," she mumbled, and blood dripped out of her mouth.
"Enemy or not, this is no way to treat another mera," Jaik growled at the black mera.

That and he'd threatened to sit on me.
"You look ridiculous by the way." Nyth ignored me and continued on his merry way, further away from the City and safety. "Nyth this is stupid. There's nothing out this way." Hunters maybe... but how the hell was I supposed to explain that to an over-excited dragon. He'd hardly stop for a few humans with weapons.
"Stupid stubborn lizard." I growled under my breath, hoping to be too quiet for him to hear.
But of course his great big silver eyes snapped in my direction the second the words had left my mouth.
You stay. I go alone.
"You're definitely not going alone!" I snapped. He wa

With the racket he was making pawing through the garbage can outside the house, it was any wonder that the occupants of the house hadn't called the police or the pound yet. Mera Society Prologue rewriteThe white glow was a good thing. It meant that he was alive. Outside it was dark, but strangely enough the weather was pleasant. There was barely a cloud in the sky, and the moon shone down on the sad scene. A girl, standing there in a hayshed beside the unconscious form of her former favourite pet. Her chest and neck were bandaged, and her arm was in a sling. She stared at him sadly, trying to remember all of his features because she knew she'd never see him again. His hair, a light ginger, fell to the tops of his wings normally but now it was spread out beside him. He looked more like a dragon than anything else, curled up there with his wings kept safe beneath his hessian material he wore. He only wore it because he had human anatomy and unlike other animals, he knew enough to know that nudity wasn't a good thing.
His hands were much like human hands only tipped with claws and his feet were the
