Great Christian Thinkers: Ten Quotes About Christian Apologetics:
• Apologetics is not simply about reaching outside the church and helping people realize why Christianity makes so much sense. There are many people inside church congregations who are wrestling with apologetic questions; who come to faith but haven’t ...had all of their questions answered. I think the pastor, the preacher, needs to realize if they want their people to be good and minister to the faith, apologists and evangelists, they’ve got to be equipped. They’ve got to be reassured about their faith. They’ve got to be helped to be able to explain it and defend it in the secular marketplace. Now maybe many pastors and preachers say, ‘You know, I couldn’t do this.’ In which case, you need to bring somebody in who can. But there’s a real need for the local church to see this kind

1st up is the revival of the unchanged "Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act" (or CISPA for short)
CISPA is a bill simpler to SOPA that give the government the right to take your private information from any site on the internet and if after receiving this information they find anything they don't like they can convict for it. As for the people who handed over you're private information? Well because they handed it over they are immune to any possible legal issues that may pop up, for a more thorough explanation of CISPA see: http://youtu.be/UERicIJ2J5U (in short wile it PROBABLY won't cos your favourite site to
Photo Editing in LinuxFor anyone interested, Ive done considerable amounts of experimentation with building photographic workflows on Linux.Photo Editing in Linux8 months ago in Personal More Like This
After trying just about every base system, window manager, and editing tool in the open source world, Ive come up with something that I personally really like, is really stable, and the tools all work well together.
So if you have wondered at all what works and what doesnt in a production capacity, I wont tell you what you "should" use, Ill just tell you what works for me.
Base system: Debian stable. Yeah I know, Ubuntu has better repos, Arch has newer packages, etc etc. I have built all of these and used them and I have had the fewest interoperability issues with Debian. It runs like a rock. Ubuntu runs hot, and uses ALOT more memory at idle than almost any other system Ive tested. The memory spikes when launching and using multiple photo apps can cause editors to freeze up. Mageia Linux is pretty nice, but there are still some issues. and I tend to think apt-get is a
BIXEL : Upcoming Icon SetBIXEL : Upcoming Icon Set1 year ago in Personal More Like This
Big, retro, pixel style icon set. I wait and wait for many years, but no one made it happened yet. I mean, there are some - about 10 icons or so...., but not a whole set, that's for sure.
and don't even mention that the icon design 'trend' right now goes to Hi-resolution, and even higher. My hope is null.
I used to heard someone said that 'if you want something, don't wait for other, make it happened yourself'
My experiences in pixel art is very limit, but I don't want to wait anymore. I will make it happened with my own strength.
This will be long-term iconset, so that means I will update it regularly, to include many icon as much as possible.

One of many mistakes runs through her mind, how on earth could she be so blind? She's filled with hatred, scars and shame gone through hell through the fire and flame. Cuts are healed yet still remain, it's only a memory of the pain.
Lumi, a first previewHey ! :]Lumi, a first preview2 years ago in Personal More Like This
So I've made some new changes on Lumi, my future Visual Style for Windows 7. It will continue to change in some details, and it's certainly not over yet, different parts are still the one from Soft7.
Anyway here's the actual result :
White isn't it ? ^^
My main ideas were :
more "minimal", less transparent, and add a tiny color.
The window on top left is active, the others are inactive (mainly a difference in the shadow, but the windows themselves are a bit more transparent).
The "Yes" button is hovered, like the Music icons. The DVD drive is selected
I believe the caption buttons are too subtle right now, and I'm still trying to do a nice hover effect, subtle but visible.
It includes the new icons on the Navigation Pane, obviously based on the icons in Mac OS Lion, entirely made from scratch (all of them) with the subtle blue of the theme.
By the way, don't get it wrong, I hardly have time to play all t

How correctly install GDIPPHi, i receive a lot of messages by people who want install GDIPP( cause GDI++ is crappy!!), so here is the good way:How correctly install GDIPP3 years ago in Personal More Like This
➊ Install GDIPP 0.7.6 in Registry( not in services, you will see it during the installation) , download: http://code.google.com/p/gdipp/downloads/list
➋ Copy the 2dll's in "C:\Program Files\gdipp" to "C:\Windows\system32"( for 64 users: 4 dll's: "sytem32"( for 64 bit dll's)+"syswow64"( for 32 bit dll's) ), like: http://img11.hostingpics.net/pics/423903436372Capture.png
➌ Restart( done)
Edit ( 12 oct 2012):
Now, i use 0.9.1 version, it works better and no replacement of dll needed ( only install it and go..!), if you use Firefox or other: uncheck "material acceleration..." in Firefox ( or other) options!!
If some characters look a little craps in some applications: make an exeption in "C:\Program Files (x86)\gdipp\gdipp_setting.xml" with your notepad.

Coven, the third entry in the series, a witchcraft genre entry, has not disappointed. Its star, Jessica Lange, was nominated for a Golden Globe. Yin's Tradelocke RulesetThis is a nuzlocke rule system I came up with awhile back, but never bothered to write down. It's basically a variation of the popular dual-locke with more emphasis on collaborative play.Yin's Tradelocke Ruleset8 months ago in Personal More Like This
Okay! First step, find a friend who loves Pokemon and nuzlockes as much as you do.
Got one? Good! Moving on~
You and your friend will need:
A Nintendo handheld system
Compatible Pokemon games (e.g. Platinum & SoulSilver, Black 2 & White, etc.)
A method of trading (link cable, IR, wi-fi, etc.)
Standard nuzlocke rules apply:
Catch only the first pokemon on each route, cave, ocean, etc.
If a pokemon faints, it's dead.
As far as additional rules go, it doesn't matter what you use as long as you and your partner use the same ones.
Now, onto the tradelocke rules:
After every 2 badges, the trainers must pick 3 pokemon to battle each other.
Winner gets to pick one of the opponent's 3 p

The United States Congress is proposing two laws that address the problem of wide-scale unlicensed distribution on the Internet of motion pictures, songs, trademarked goods, and patented pharmaceuticals.
One of the proposals is called SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act) and would direct search engines in the United States to block Internet sites outside the United States that are primarily engaged in distributing unlicensed content.Another proposal called PIPA (Protect IP Act) would block websites located in the United States as well. The Obama administration is putting a stop to these proposals. It wants the Internet companies and the content companies to get together and come up with more functional and less destructive solutions.
Humans Becoming Robots, Robots Becoming HumanOn March 1, 2012 the Nevada DMV issued the first license for a “Google Driverless Car.” The idea behind this innovation is that one day soon new technology will drive cars safer and more skillfully than humans, thus saving lives and billions of dollars in car crashes. How well this idea catches on is a bit questionable, given the powerful “romance” of driving one’s car, but it’s certainly an indicator of things to come in the daily intersection of human and artificial intelligence and mobility. There have always been those who have dreamed of stepping into a mechanical exo-skeletal-type “suit” and letting the engineering do the work, instantly increasing limited human speed, strength, endurance and accuracy.Humans Becoming Robots, Robots Becoming Human2 years ago in DeviantART Announcements More Like This

You can fix that crap with FXChrome. First off it gives Firefox Chrome like tabs, which can be a good or a bad thing, depending on which look you like better, but it can't be denied that it makes the address bar look much, much better. I've been asked to write a tutorial on skinning foobar2000, because many f2k users encounter difficulties modifying skins or simply using them. I'm not an expert on the subject, I've started by installing a few skins and trying to understand how that worked ; I still think it's the best way to get a good handle on it, though a long and sometimes frustrating way. I invite you to try and see by yourself, to keep in mind that errors come all along and to share any advice, question, difficulty or anything you want to say, may you be new or expert. I also recommend to read this good tutorial (though it's partly based on outdated PanelsUI), maybe this less developed one, some of the very useful Hydr

"I encourage everyone to please view this image on my website I use a dark neutral background that makes viewing art much more pleasing to the eye."
This is my only real gripe with deviantART, and one that if they fixed, I feel could significantly improve the look and feel of the site as a whole.
The main reason I post this is because I can't understand for the life of me why deviantART, an ART website, would choose a very awful shade of green to use throughout their website to showcase art. It's my opinion, and the opinion of pretty much any art site you visit (red bubble, 500px, 1x etc) that there should be a neutral background to a website where you are showcasing art. It really should be black or white or anything in between (shades of grey) This weird, gross shade of green just makes everything look worse. It's such a great site, with SO many talented artists, I can't figure out why the

First of all, I hope you all had a splendid week. There were some exciting new changes on dA this week. The one that most of you should be already aware of are username changes. The deviantART community as a whole seem to be split on whether it's beneficial to the community. I'd really love to hear what you think about it all.
