The Scottish Highlands
“Outlander” is a new cable series about a young woman who time travels from England at the end of WWII to 1743 Scotland, right before the Second Jacobite Uprising. The science fiction time travel and Scottish civil war themes are simply elaborate devices to justify the heroine engaging in a sizzling “bodice–ripper” romance. The location shoot in the lush eye–popping Scottish Highlands provides a beautiful backdrop for all the hot romance. Even if British reserve, Scottish resolve and cable sex aren’t your cup of tea, the amazing landscapes framing the tale are well worth your time.
July TasksWell well... seems like there’s a ton of you out there who are just itching to do something for somebody else. Those little villages to the west certainly must be raising you all with good values. Isn’t that sweet?July Tasks2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Call me Royce. I’ll be handing out the workload around here. Since you’re all eager for work, we’ll get along just fine, I’m sure. First off, welcome to Alomomola. We’ve got it all, here. Unfortunately, having it all means you’ve gotta keep up with it all. I’m glad all that isn’t up to me, heh. My domain is our lovely King's Rock Casino, of course. I can’t wait to put some of you to work there... but before we delve into the sweet center of it all, we must address the crusty, brittle outer layer that is the tasks I
Thursday: Tree, Olive, Bottle Art Contest!I hope you all had a fantastic Valentine's Day last week! Well done spreading the love to all.Thursday: Tree, Olive, Bottle Art Contest!3 years ago in DeviantArt Announcements More Like This
This week, we're continuing the love trend. We're doing an art creation contest. However, there's a twist -- you must use three pre-determined items in your piece!
We want you to create a deviation including three specific items that revolves around our theme of love:
Your deviation must contain these images:
How you incorporate these items around the theme of love is up to you!
Of course, you may use more than the objects above, but all three of those objects must appear. Feel free to create whatever inspires you! Maybe someone is creating a model tree with olive-colored leaves in a bottle to give to his love. Or, maybe two olives are sitting in a tree, sipping wine from a bottle. Whatever your mind creates, we want to see it!
You can draw, take a photograph, write a story, use
Girls Collab - CLOSED! The list of remaining characters is at the very bottom of the page under "suggestions".Girls Collab - CLOSED!2 years ago in Personal More Like This
All the required characters have been turned in, so that means the final due date is one month from now on February 6th.
You can still sign up for characters, but the due date for any character is February 6th, even if you sign up a week before that day.
Also, since we only have one month left, people who've reached their max amount of charcters can do a few more if they wish. Let's say... three more if they so choose.
For this collab, we will be drawing all the Disney girls we can!
:iconattention-plz: PLEASE READ ALL THE RULES BEFORE SIGNING UP! I don't want you to draw a character and not be allowed in because you missed a rule. ;_;
Any girl character can only be in the collab once. In other words, if someone has already taken her, then you can't sign up for her.
When we're done, Zimeta will put together all the individual girl
1M Downloads and GithubThis day marks a special milestone of achievement for the developers of Omnimo. A humble project that started almost two years ago reached one million downloads today. Most of you probably don't know that this project was supposed to be much smaller. When I came up with the early concept in the middle of March, I intended it to have approximately 12 panels and several text items.1M Downloads and Github4 years ago in Personal More Like This
Omnimo: The Beginning
Nothing more. However, shortly after the concept, Xyrfo joined the project. And with our combined passion and ambition, as well as with some help from others, we managed to create the biggest Rainmeter suite ever. Xyrfo did some amazing stuff for the project. Things without which it would just remain but a dream of a madman. But he did it! For that, he deserves no less recognition than I do.
And of course, we would like to thank the community for all the support! You guys are awesome! Nothing motivates doing a project better than to see people use and enjoy the product. W

So, I guess my plan had some minor flaws. Namely that when you tie up deviantART staff with yarn and lock them in their office supply closet, they can use scissors and letter openers to break free. I even put a mirror on the inside of the door to confuse them! How did they know that was the way out? They're some smart humans.
They broke free, activated their laser pointers, and regained control of the servers and databases while we were dreadfully distracted. Now, everything is back to normal on deviantART. Worst of all, they said we "were very, very bad" and that they were "disappointed in us". That guilt is hard to live with, my friends.
We're back to drawing board now. No, we won't give up hope of total world domination. We're so close, I can feel it! Watch out, world! This isn't the last you'll see of FUR.
But world domination will have to wait until another day. Who's ready for a cat nap?
PE Daily Deviations - So you want to suggest DDs?You're browsing deviantART or are simply checking your message centre and find a wonderful art piece. You want to suggest it as a Daily Deviation because you believe it truly deserves to be seen by the community as a whole. But how to properly suggest a DD? This article will explain the process.PE Daily Deviations - So you want to suggest DDs?3 years ago in Deviant Events More Like This
Things to check before sending a suggestion:
The first thing you need to check is if the artist has been given a Daily Deviation in the past 6 months. Volunteers cannot feature anyone who's had a DD in that period of time with no exceptions, as this has been hard-coded into deviantART's system.
"But how do I check an artist's Daily Deviations?" you may ask. Simply go to their gallery, click browse and scroll down. If they have any DDs, you'll be able to find a link to them at the bottom of the page. Alternatively, you can add "/dds" after their profile url and click enter on your browser's address bar.
A tip for somewhat serious writersIn judging the writing entries for Mission 5, I've come to notice a trend becoming increasingly popular.A tip for somewhat serious writers3 years ago in Personal More Like This
I'm referring to cameos. I've seen stories with upwards of five, or six cameos.
Normally, this would not be a problem. (It isn't, really! You're free to write however you like. This should be a fun thing for you to do!)
However! None of stories I have judged so far have had their scores increase because of cameos. I've only seen cameos degrade the quality of the work, and therefore, the score the writer receives. If you're just writing for fun and have no interest in the score you receive, then none of the below applies to you!
Cameos are fine if they're done well, but I haven't really seen once done well in this round of judging. (I've yet to actually finish judging, so a story may surprise me!)
So far, cameos have only succeeded in making the story feel rushed, too condensed, and full of unnecessary information. I have no interest in knowing everything about the five or six

EDIT: THE PRIZES HAVE BEEN UPDATED! KEEP THOSE ENTRIES COMING!
Wanna enter a contest where you draw your OWN characters? Look no further! This is the contest for you!
AWOOOOOOOO! That's right, kids! Halloween is coming up and that means it's time for the SHAPE SHIFTERS to come out of hiding. Draw YOUR character (that's right, yours not mine, unless you feel like including them) changing shape!
Your entries should capture them in the act of changing from one form to another! They don't have to be a werewolf or even normally capable of shape-shifting. Just have fun! It can be cartoony or creepy, glittery or gruesome! Feel free to draw a single pose or a whole sequence if you like.
Keeping with the spirit of SPOOPY

1. Saving your .psd with all layers hidden makes a smaller file compared to saving it with all layers visible.
2. You can use the Crop Tool to quickly increase the canvas size of an image by holding down Ctrl + Alt whilst dragging the Crop Tool outside the current canvas.
3. If you want to see only one of your layers at a time, hold down Alt whilst clicking the eye icon of the layer. (do it again to show all layers again)
4. Holding down Alt while in a dialog box turns the Cancel button into a Reset button, so you can reset the values back to default.
5. If you want to just quickly check a very heavy .psd file, you can hold down Shift + Alt while clicking the Open button. This way Photoshop will open a flattened version of the file.
6. You can change the gray background that surrounds your image with the Paint Bucket Tool, just hold down Shift and make click on the background.
7. Not a very unknown tip, but if y

Tutorial for the One Dollar KoiHello everyone,Tutorial for the One Dollar Koi6 years ago in Personal More Like This
First of all I would like to say "Thank you" for all your support.
Also I would like to give a "BIG THANK YOU" to my good friend Michael Sanders for putting together the video tutorial.
I finally have a video tutorial made. Before you can begin you will need a set of my Koi diagrams.
I would also like to say that if you are a beginner in Origami that this may be to hard for you. Start with something a little easier first.
In the tutorial I will teach you how to fold the "Koi" the way I fold it. I will not be following the diagrams normally, but you still need them for the beginning.
You can get a set of the diagrams here: http://www.origami-resource-center.com/support-files/dollarkoifish.pdf
After you have the diagrams you can go to my friends blog site here for the tutorial.
