Heaven's Hell - The Art BookThere are artists who I admire because of their style and work. I admire them and I want to be where they are now. Working as a concept artists. They gave me goal and dreams.
But there are artists who I admire because they helped me reaching that goal. When I started to take digital art and overall art seriously (which wasn't that long ago) I found some artists who showed me how to do things and I doubt I would be here if they didn't help me. One of them is :iconk04sk:
I watched many of his LiveStreams and he taught me so many things. And not so long ago he asked his watchers to spread the word about art book (Heaven's Hell) his friend is publishing so here is the link to his journal entry: http://k04sk.deviantart.com/#/d5p2q7g
And here is a direct link to Kickstarter: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2131695070/heavens-hell-the-art-book

I currently miss 1 address, noted that person. Once I got all the addresses I can weigh the envelopes and see how many stamps I need to get. I ship everything at once.
Because of a national holiday tomorrow and a party on Sunday, I won't be able to ship anything before next week. I'm telling this so you know I haven't forgotten (I can't really since there is this huge pile of envelopes on my desk).

Ponyscape v0.4!!Hi Everypony!!Ponyscape v0.4!!1 year ago in Personal More Like This
It is with great pride that I present to you Ponyscape version 0.4!! It's been nearly a month in the making, and I think it's come quite a ways! For anyone who doesn't know, Ponyscape is my custom-built derivative of Inkscape, a vector art creation program, which adds features and fixes bugs pertaining to all artists (but especially useful to pony artists).
You can find the changelog for previous versions in their respective journals:
I have compiled binary packages for Windows, Linux Mint 14 64-bit (should also work on Ubuntu 12.10), and Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion. On Windows, download the zip file and extract it using 7zip or winrar and run
Ponyscape v0.3!!Happy New Year Everypony!!Ponyscape v0.3!!2 years ago in Personal More Like This
I'm proud to announce the release of version 0.3 of Ponyscape!! This is a continuation of the work on version 0.2, and includes some really cool new features! I've spent most of my time off during by holiday break working on and tweaking things in this release.
I have compiled binary packages for both Windows and Linux Mint 14 64-bit (should also work on Ubuntu 12.10). On Windows, download the zip file and extract it with 7zip or winrar and run ponyscape.exe. On Linux, download the deb package and install it by running "sudo dpkg -i " or using a GUI package installer of your choice. You can download these binary packages here:
Alternatively, you can download the entire source code and compile from scratch. I can confirm that compiling works on both Windows and Linux, and hopefully

Salutations, readers! Welcome to what I hope will be a recurring installment in my journal: Kobrakin's Greatest Hits!
Now, during my long recovery period from the herniated disc in my back (which is almost totally back to normal now!), I have been unable to work on any of my writing. As such, the primary contributions I've made to DA in the past few months have been in the form of my comments.
Now, these comments are ones that I put a great deal of effort into writing and staging with appropriate "Plz" icons. Currently, most of them are My Little Pony related, but I still have a good deal more comments left to dig up. These are just the ones I could find with minimal effort. For each comment, I will supply a link to the comment directly, and a link to deviation I made it on. Pretty much all of them are inspired by the artwork or story I was commen

1.) Describe your character's relationship with their mother or their father, or both. Was it good? Bad? Were they spoiled rotten, ignored? Do they still get along now, or no?
2.) What are your characters most prominent physical features?
3.) Name one scar your character has, and tell us where it came from. If they don't have any, is there a reason?
4.) How vain is your character? Do they find themselves attractive?
5.) What's your character's ranking on the KINSEY SCALE?
6.) Describe your character's happiest memory.

I've read or heard from so many people that are afraid to admit they enjoy My Little Pony, in any form. I just read in a forum for issue 3, "Man I wish I had the guts to buy one of these comics in person."
WHAT is stopping you? Because somebody might point and laugh? Laugh back! Everybody is entitled to like whatever they wish. Some like football, some like movie collecting, some like gardening... whatever.
For years, I worked at a bookstore. We sold Adult magazines, like every other store. People would come up, buy it, move on. 5 seconds later none of us could identify that person if we had too... it didn't matter, it meant nothing. However, the people who came up to the counter with said magazine hidden under items they really didn't want so people wouldn't see what they were buying, or whispering about it... These were the people that stood out as strange... the ones that MADE a big deal of it themselves.
I'm NOT comparing MLP to these magazines, by the way. I'
Concerning stolen work...Hey everyone, just wanted to update and say happy new year to everyone and thanks for the huge amount of comments and faves (and badges) you've been throwing my way. I really love you all!Concerning stolen work...6 months ago in Personal More Like This
But I do have to address the fact that there's been quite a few incidents where my stuff has been blatantly stolen/traced over/modified, etc. I want to clarify that I don't care if anyone references a pose, for example, since I think it's dumb to claim ownership of poses, but when you pretty much take my image and put your own OC in replacement of one of the characters, it really sucks :/
If you are tracing or whatever to help you learn anatomy or something, that's totally fine and understandable, but I would appreciate that you didn't post it publicly.
If you would like to use any of my images for things like banners/graphics or whatever on tumblr, that's okay, as long as it's credited somewhere. I also noticed people using my Kisame pictures in their roleplaying to emphasize emotions, and I'm total
On: Illustration, Comics, and Story TellingDon’t suck -- PKOn: Illustration, Comics, and Story Telling2 years ago in Personal More Like This
I want to say first of all that sometimes I get people asking, or rather complaining, “why does it seem like the comics always get a better score? This group seems so focused on comics. What if I just want to draw pictures?”
Well, that ends up tying into narrative illustration, which is a pretty hard thing to do right if you’re used to drawing single shots of your character against a plain, white background. Most people end up doing comics because it seems easier right away: the characters can talk, you can set the scene, it doesn’t require a little description at the bottom...
But, even comics require some know-how to pull off really well. It’s just harder to pull off illustrations in this story-based environment, because comics make it a little less apparent when it’s not doing a very good job at telling that story.
But, I’ll get to comics second.
Regarding "Fighting is Magic""Don't panic" - Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas AdamsRegarding "Fighting is Magic"1 year ago in Personal More Like This
A lot of you may have heard the recent news about the fan game, "Fighting is Magic", If not, here's pretty much all you need to know to be caught up on what's going on with that game.
Many people have become upset within the short amount of time since the release of this statement, and with good reason too. I'm not going to get into a discussion of who's right and who's wrong, or what the law says, or how copyright works or any of that. All I want to do is point out that according to the announcement, it seems as if the development team behind Fighting is Magic, Mane6, is attempting to hold discussions with Hasbro about continuing development.
With that in mind, now is not the time for negativity and hatred towards Hasbro for their actions. Instead, now's the time to offer our support and encouragement to Mane6. They could easily say "so m

on another note, there have been a LOT of questions... I'll try to give a blanket coverage here to what I can.
First, I cannot give you sneak peeks. Sorry, but waiting is part of the game and half the fun! When IDW and Hasbro give a thumbs up, it will come here first!
Second: Yes, these are original stories (no, I'm not gonna tell you what it is yet!), not adaptations of existing episodes. This gives us the chance to do things that maybe couldn't be done in an episode due to time restriction or other limitations! The target audience is the exact same as the show, meaning it will be great for kids and adults alike. We know what a major fa

What we call unacceptable behavior. Now I normally do not do anything like this. . . I don't rant in my journal posts. I typically don't sling mud. However, there are certain codes of behavior that should be observed and since some people can't be held to a rational mature code of behavior. How about we give examples of what is not socially acceptable and let them reap the consequences of their actions, hmm? First allow me to link people to a series of screenshots that were taken of a journal that has since been deleted since the original writer apparently feared "consequences" of their actions. King Sombra. What's all this whining I hear about Sombra not being bad enough? Or getting enough screen time? Or not being developed enough?King Sombra.2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Calm the fuck down.
He's going to be back. The lack of exposition confirms this.
When Cadance's magic shield sliced off his horn, we saw the severed horn piece act on its own (melting into the ground). Later we saw Sombra repair his horn completely. What has been established? That Sombra can regenerate (his horn anyways).
What happened the last moment we saw Sombra? He got obliterated into shards by the crystal heart magicyness... and we saw his horn (intact) fly away (towards the viewer).
He'll be back.
Besides, the episode wasn't about Sombra. It was about Twilight Sparkle.
What happened at the end? Twilight was allowed to advance in her studies. Celestia and Luna are preparing her for bigger, badder, showdown that has yet to happen.
My guess is that we're going to see a winged Twilight at the end of this season.

5 Tips on Creating Dynamic Character1. Start with a concept. This is how most of my characters start, and they usually begin with two or three word descriptors. "Demon stallion" or "spoiled dragon prince" or "psychic dolphin". Characters as this stage are more anima than anything; they are forces at play in the primordial soup of story. When an idea is this new, I try not to focus on it too much. Ideas need time to germinate, and I've found myself disappointed in times past when the potential of the character was so much more exciting than the concrete reality of what they became. Since during this time I'm developing plot and main conflict, I try to move characters around and see who I gravitate towards. This helps story and character grow organically. It's during this time that I try and determine what the character struggles with, the yin and yang of their internal difficulty. For example, I was recently asked to come up with a character for an urban fantasy roleplay, with no real details about th5 Tips on Creating Dynamic Character2 years ago in Personal More Like This

OK so, since I pretty much got positive response for the proposal of me doing commissions, I'll open them. (Really, I've always been willing to do them, just never really advertised it. Meh.)
NO naughty. I won't do art more riské than PG-13, so no explicit porn, gore, etc.
If you'd like an OC PLEASE give me either reference drawings or at least very detailed description. I'll probably give you a quick sketch to show you what it will pretty much look like.
BTW, I can draw a lot more than just ponies! Pokemon, Star Wars, Disney, Futurama, you name it!
Just Note me your idea and what level of drawing you'd like (Levels described below). I'll make the basic pencil sketch and send it to you for approval. If you like it, I'll accept payment then, and finish the drawing. If you don't like it, I'll re-do it to your specifications until you do like it. I ONLY accept payment
