When Darkness Falls - Prologue
"Wake up!" As the pegasus regains consciousness he hears the voice calling out to him. "Wake up!" Suddenly the pegasus is awaken by the mysterious voice that seems to fill the void of this unknown destination. He begins to realize that the floor is filled with water and a blanket of fog covers the entire area.
"It's about time you woke up." The startled pegasus's eyes focused on the faint figure closing in where he is standing. "Stay back! That's far enough!" The mysterious figure starts to chuckle as it gets closer. "Final warning!" said the frightened pegasus. Right before the mysterious figure took another step the pegasus starts to charge towards the mysterious figure standing before him. Right before the pegasus got any closer, a glare from the mysterious figure eyes pierced through the thick fog making the colt freeze in mid-air.
"Why can't I move!?" Then the fog starts to fade away reveling the identity of the mysterious figure right before him. The pegasus stared in sh

"Walk with me", Purgatory calls. Not aware of where he was being led was a thought Sunny wasn't comfortable with, but the thought of staying in this awful place sounded even worse. So he reluctantly followed this Alicorn named Purgatory. "How much of your life do you remember?", the Alicorn asked as they continued to walk through this fortress-like structure. Sunny glanced toward him and confusingly uttered, "I-I'm not sure. Does it really matter at this point?" Purgatory barely glanced at the pegasus as he began to speak, "There are times, where is some-pony that can't remember a thing, so I would wind up telling him their life story. So I'm gonna ask again, how much do you remember, and how far back?"
Sunny then struggled to think about the first memory that he was aware he had. He thought back long ago before any of this had even happened. All to back when he was only a filly, to the day he had first met Celestia and Luna...

“What is it Luna?” Came a call from the landing just above the young alicorn.
“Tia I’m huuuuuunnnnnnnnnngrrrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyy!!!! Can you make me something to eat?” She reached the top landing and made her way into the room where she found Celestia sitting at a table, an open book floating just a few inches away from her face.
“Why don’t you make yourself a sandwich?” Celestia said without looking up from her book.
“I can’t, you know mama doesn’t want me using knives, even with my magic. I’m too young.”
“Then have one of the guards make you one.”
“No, they never do it right. Can’t you make me a sandwich? Please Tia? You make the best peanut butter and jelly sandwiches in all of Equestria.”
Celestia sighed and pla

"There was so much I was gonna do I never found my special talent in life and earned my cutie mark I never thought it would end like this. Applebloom, Sweetie Belle, and I were all going to do it together. This is a nightmare " The thought quieted her. This was a nightmare and that was all that it could be. It had been countless centuries of the same question. The mare closed her eyes and thought for a moment, wondering how she still never quite had a good answer. After a moment her eyes opened and extended one of her wings as if to beckon the filly near. "I wish I had a better answer, but this isn't a nightmare, Scootaloo. It has been 12 long years since I had taken that test. An average time period of bodyguard training would have been centered around 1 year, but since I was so young at the time I was forced to wait until I was of age. I began my advanced training the day I was physically able to move without pain from the Endurance I had to face. I also took the opportunity to take some extra curricular activities. I took classes on Criminal Investigation so that I would be more prepared to handle such situations if they arose, as well as such activities that would help me become more observant of my surroundings. I honed my skills and technique, eagerly awaiting the day that I would become an official member of the Royal Guard. The day I turned 18 I took up my armor and swore the oath: "Until the last drop of blood leaves my body; Until I draw my last breath from my lungs; I shall defend Equestria and it's rulers, as well as all who inhabit it.

Though he is not in this episode, we'll see.
He's discovered by Twilight and at her behest,
The chick is returned to his parents and nest.
Owlowiscious appears, for some reason awake,
And we flip to Spike baking a gem-infused cake.
He munches on his gems as he makes his creation,
Finding them all gone he airs his frustration.
The owl indicates that the chef is to blame,
Causing Spike to sadden and loudly exclaim.
Fluttershy comes by to pawn off her pet,
And Spike soon accepts for her green garnet.
Angel is aghast and catches a ride back,
While Spike seeks to add some more gems to his snack.
RD and Rarity are two more to sway,
But Rainbow just laughs and promptly says neigh.
A series of crashes turns her view around,
With Spike soon promising to keep Tank off the ground.
Rarity does not even think to resist,
And Spike finds himself with a Twilight-sized list.
She leaves him in charge of her monstrosity,
Gem rather unfit for generosity.

Prologue: One Last Spell
Princess Celestia's hooves drummed a frantic beat on the stone floors as the slow repetition of that damnable ram crashing against the castle doors chased her through the halls. Interspersed throughout was the clattering of wood against wood, the sound of royal guards desperate to buy their princesses every last second they could.
Though the sound was too far away for her ears, she knew that her parents were strapping on their armor for the very same purpose.
The city was drowning in rebel forces. Even if she managed to break through the attack, she and Luna would not be allowed to live. As it stood now, their only future was death.
But there was a way out. The royal servants had given her a chance, a desperate gamble that may save her and her sister.
Where was she? The librar

As the lone Alicorn walked slowly through the halls, she listened to the echoing of her hooves clopping on the floor of the hallway.
The castle was so big, every room cavernous compared to the equine who roamed it. It scared her... yet it was the only thing she could call home. She felt like she had always been here. Always been alone.
She tried to look out of the windows lining one side of the hallway, but she could see nothing outside. Crystals as black as the deepest cave covered every window, every door. She could not break them. She could not escape.
This place was more of a prison than anything.
The pony prisoner shivered, and coughed haggardly. Her blueish-purple coat was lined with tiny patches of ice in some places. It was so cold. So very cold.
She spread her wings, shaking the tiny icicles off of them. They were too frozen for her to be able to fly, the feathers saturated with ice.
Even her horn could hardly use
Final Dream of a Filly Ch. 3The funeral was a modest affair. The town gathered up a collection and the mortician was even kind enough to donate a simple black coffin for the sake of holding her. It almost didn't seem real as Scootaloo stared down into the open casket and examined the tiny bundle within. They had done a good job, she admitted. She still only looked asleep, a small smile permanently hovering on her face from her final dream. Scootaloo turned away and cast her gaze to the sky, a sigh causing her to shudder. The weather team hadn't been able to clear the skies. Why, she didn't know, but the day was somber in its muted gray sky that occasionally rumbled with the softest rumbles of thunder.Final Dream of a Filly Ch. 34 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This

Not one creature stirred in that library.
The socks had been hung on the one fireplace,
In hopes that the princess would soon show her face.
In his bed sleeping sound was baby dragon Spike,
He was looking forward to tomorrow, the scaled little tyke.

When out in the village a ruckus arose,
One that awoke me from my comfy doze.
I arose from my slumber and went to the window,

The moonlight gleamed bright on our quiet town,
All signs of yesterday the snowfall did drown.
When, what do my wondering eyes soon spy,
But a pure black sleigh pulled by eight pegasi!
The snow started swirling in a blinding typhoon,
And I knew it must be the princess of the moon.
Going into a dive they started their run,
With Luna now shouting the name of each one.

Final Dreams of a Filly Ch. 1The moon was chillingly beautiful. The young filly watched it silently; a rare moment of reverence for her normally exuberant personality. A chill ran through her tiny frame and she pulled the thin material closer around her fledgling wings, trying to trap her frail body heat beneath the scarlet cape and emblem. A smile pulled at the corner of her mouth as her lavender eyes caught sight of the insignia. The symbol glittered in the moonlight, tendrils of frost having begun to collect on the surface of the cape. Her eyes fell away from the frost as she dismissed it. So what if it was cold? The filly nestled closer betwixt the wooden beams of her residence and closed her eyes tight in defiance. There was no time to worry about that now. Now it was time to sleep. Every filly knew the moon meant that, and even she didn't have the energy to fight its silent nocturne. "Goodnight, mom. Goodnight, dad. I love you " she called out softly. The answer was the sam

To you Cruel world, friends and all,
I say goodbye, as now I fall.
You've shown me pain, sadness and fear.
It cut me deep, bled out my cheer.
But still I laughed, as though to hide,
The gaping hole, my heart reside.
I wore a mask of borrowed cheer
to hide behind, to cover my fear
For I thought, I hoped, a prayer
that once I'll be, a happy mare.
But so it is not and never shall be.
The impossible wish, crushed within me
Ground to dust, from hooves to head.
It pours on out through tears I shed.
I can't go on, this pain I hide,
I've given up, can't keep inside.
So now I fall, and now I die
For though I laugh, Inside I cry...

The Nightmare Prologue: Meeting in the Night It was a peaceful night. Everypony was tucked soundly in their beds, ready to wake when Celestia raised the sun, signaling the start of a new day. It was during these nights that ponies dreamed many wondrous things, such as a unicorn who dreamed of being immersed in the warm waves of the ocean, or an earth pony who dreamed she flew with the wings of a Pegasus. Each dream was different, and, more importantly, they were private, hidden from the eyes of everypony else. At least, that’s what they thought. The Nightmare Prologue: Meeting in the Night3 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
Within each of these dreams there was a figure standing somewhere off in the distance. Most ponies took no notice of the figure, and those who did, dismissed it as a trick of the mind. But no matter what they thought, every single night the figure stood there, watching and waiting. That is until one night, a young earth pony colt was having a particularly troubling dream; in his dream, he was a cowpony on the open range, when suddenly, a herd

There was a chill in the air, and darkness was descending across the land of Equestria. But as dark and foreboding as it sounded, the ponies who called this land home were not retreating back into their homes to hide from the impeding fall of night. Instead, they were welcoming it.
The moon was on its way up into the sky like the sun had done several hours earlier. Lighting the earth below this heavenly body were candles and lamps. Pumpkins were carved to varying qualities to show several different emotions. Cobwebs and large, plastic, hairy spiders sat within their homes, giving a spooky yet welcoming look to the passerby of the night.
Around Equestria, the streets, once filled with the hustle and bustle of mares and stallions, children, adults and any other creature that called Equestria their own, were gone. In their place, the haunted façade of buildings awaited to be visited by passing ghosts, ghouls, vamponie
