Yukine clutched the flashlight to him as he started to drift off, Yato sitting, guarding, at the end of his bed. Suddenly the light flickered and Yukine held in a breath as he stared at it.
"It might be running out of battery." Yato suggested casually and his regalia stared at him.
"Fix. It." He ground out but Yato didn't move. The light flickered and went out for a few moments. Instantly the teen panicked, his breathing wrecked and his body frozen. Yato leaned over and hit the torch and it flickered back on, but Yukine wasn't convinced of his safety. "I can't-Yato, please- You have to do something!"
"I don't think I can." He replied quietly. "Try to sleep while it's still on, okay?" Yukine was far too tense. He started shaking and then, despite his best attempts to keep quiet, a sob broke free and a wave of tears bombarded his cheeks.
