I'm Home/Hotel Transylvania/Tagged, FluttershyI am back from Korea, ( i came back last night, but the internet wasn't working for me to post this) and it was lovely, we took a tour there, so no wasting time, its winter there, that I'm not so used to it, since i live in Indonesia, after a few days we got used to the cold (either that or the temperature went up) we went to Jeju Island and Seoul, sadly i don't know why i don't remember half of what i did while i was in Jeju Island, i hope it will come back to me soon. I was a bit terrified that might freeze my fingers and toes, especially in Nami (?) Island, thankgoodness i made it, a bit unfortunate cause i couldn't enjoy the beauty of the sun, warm/cold colors, and the beautiful scenery, all in thanks to me getting a headache, I could have taken a lot of beautiful pictures. but yeah, the tour was quite fun.
That's all i have to say.. I'm boring..:c

By Tchernobog, I think it's way too beautiful to not share here:
Applejack shivered slightly as she trotted through the snow. She'd left her trust hat at home, mostly because Rainbow Dash had dragged her out of the house before she could grab it. She had however managed to lay a hoof on a scarf, and was glad for its warmth. She figured that warmth was half because of the material it was made of, and half because it was the scarf Rainbow had made her, shocking her with the thoughtfulness and the craftsmanship. It was like Rainbow had taken her tail, turned it into wool, and knitted a scarf out of it. Not one stitch out of place.
Applejack suspected a white unicorn may have helped, but she kept that idea to herself. The thought and gesture counted for so much more.
Rainbow, who had been jumping around in the snow like an eager foal, stopped her frolicking as her eyes locked on Applejack's. The oran

1: Everybody Loves the New Dictatorship
This never ceases to be hilarious to me. A big evil corporation or totalitarian regime takes power and the first thing they do is outlaw all primary colors, build tons of ugly buildings, hire armies of jack-booted thugs in face concealing helmets to patrol the streets...and apparently people couldn't be happier. Sure they whine about their taskmasters all the time but nobody attempts to rebel in public and said stormtroopers are so dedicated they will chase the hero EVERYWHERE and risk dying in horrible ways just for the honor of missing at them with their guns. In real dictatorships there's plots all the way up to high military officials to topple insane/ex

I've seen a LOT of positive reviews, enjoyment, and happiness this episode inspired and I do not begrudge that for anyone. I'm a critic by nature so I'm bound to be critical, but I love the show still and even if I get uppity I did think this episode was fun in many ways. Please keep enjoying
Now in the past MLP grabbed me by how it broke the mold.
The general rule of thumb for animated marketing ploys is be as safe as possible, and out of the gate this new reiteration of MLP under the helm of Lauren Faust did some extremely daring things. For one thing the main character was not a happy-go-lucky individual: she was closeted, irritable know-it-all with marked disdain for others. In other words she seemed out

So these are my two plans
Outcome of Episode A- Big Mac and Cheerilee DONT end up together, and I just wave the problem away.
Outcome of Episode B- Big Mac and Cheerilee DO end up together. In this case, the sotry will go like this-
Big Mac and Cheerilee had a healthy, happy relationship going, and were planning on getting married some day. However, Cheerilee received an offer to work at Celestia's School as a history teacher, a prospect almost unheard of for non unicorns. She couldn't pass up her ultimate dream, and so she accepted without talking to Mac. At around the same time, the Apple Family Had recently received a huge grant to more than double the size of their farm, and business was more important than ever. So when Cheerilee told Mac about her plans to move, he was reluctant to tell her he couldn't come with, because h

A lot of people over on Reddit (http://www.reddit.com/r/mylittlepony/comments/wy7jn/ii_cant_think_of_any_wordsjustwow/) are getting on the artist's case for being too obsessed about the show and wanting Equestria to be "heaven" when the piece (if you bother to read the artist's description) was a commission from someone who was trying to show how people can become too obsessed and damage their real life for an imaginary one. In other words, it's a beautifully done piece that ALSO has a really powerful social message.

The aim of this is to raise awareness of and help prevent suicide and the underlying issues that drive people to commit suicide. If someone is not OK, take the time to listen to their response. Let them know you're there for them. You don't have to fix the problem; just indicate you are there to provide help and support.
It may not seem like it, but I can tell you from personal experience that just listening to someone is a very powerful way to help them get through tough times. Knowing that there is someone you can trust and open up to means more than you may think.

SB in SK - School Bullying In South KoreaThere are many issues that need to be addressed and ultimately solved or at the very least be worked on, and they can be found everywhere - there exists no country, no culture, nor society without flaws, and only a fool would think otherwise. A huge part of the problems is that people are either ignorant or uniformed about them; and unfortunately, I cannot write and bring awareness to every such topic, so this time I have chosen to focus on bullying. School bullying in South Korea to be more specific, a serious problem that only recently seems to appear in the headlines and gain national recognition. Now, I am not saying that Korean school bullying is the absolute worst worldwide, nor that SK itself is horrible - in fact, I love SK - but this country has huge loopholes within its laws; rape in particular seems to be the current big attention-taker. Not to mention it's a complete evasion of the moral question of the state. Even if you're absolutely right in that the NHS took good care of you, that doesn't excuse the fact that it's an institution funded by coersion. Being polite about stealing is still stealing. There were plenty of businesses that were helped by the mafia too. Did that excuse their crimes? No, the ends do not justify the means.

IP confusionIt's sad to see people fighting about intellectual property rights when they apparently have no clue what those are, how they work and what is allowed (and not).IP confusion3 years ago in Art Features More Like This

Obviously the latter is similar to the first.
The question is: is this allowed?
To answer that question, it is important to understand what rules apply and what intellectual property (IP) is.
There are three different kinds of IP that can apply here:
As the name hints this is the right to make copies of a work. It does not protect ideas, only the actual recorded work - artwork, documents, music etc.
This means that if someone copies your art (by directly copying it, by tracing it or otherwise adapting your work) you can certainly take action, but there is little you can do to prevent someone else creating their own

fave other people's art - they might fave yours back
comment on other people's art - they might return the favour
use your comments to actually talk to the other artist; don't just say "wow", but tell them why you liked their art; give critiques
use the chats & forums
use your own journal to its full advantage (tell people about yourself / art features / ...)
take care to make your userpage nice-looking and informative
give out llama badges
find some groups to submit your art to
and don't forget to actually post something to your gallery regularly
While all of this is certainly true (seeing as when you don't put your name - with the attached link to your page - out there, no one will have a chance to find you to begin with), the question that remains for me is:

What is 20% Cooler? Bronies often use the term "20% Cooler" when expressing jubilaiton, enticing an idea, etc. Then there rises the question; how MUCH is 20%?What is 20% Cooler?3 years ago in Other More Like This
There are things called "cool points", which some people may achieve and lose by doing certain actions. A good example of this is when you barley dodge a stinger slung at your face; Congratulations, bro! You got ten cool points! Sometimes, you lose some for trpping over that tiny rock, or running into a pole while texting. Ouch, bro, you lose 3 cool points there.
The system is infinite. You can never cap your cool points, and thus can constantly get more cool as long as you don't slip up. But, in the land of ponies, you can achieve an indulgence of being "20% cooler". This can be a rather menial boost, or an extreme shoot-up in your cool points track. If you have only 1 cool point, once you get that indulgence, you now have 1.2 cool points. If you have 200 cool

According to deviantART's hq, "deviantART's algorithm for Popular browse results (ie. front page) is known as Fair Exposure. The goal is to maximize the display of the most popular deviations in a variety of topics with Fair Exposure, the community is exposed to a varied cross-section of deviantART. "
What this boils down to is that certain art categories have inherent ranking advantages and others inherent ranking disadvantages on front page as a means of ensuring that a variety of works from across deviantART are visible on front page and not just that of one category. Sounds pretty good right?
Well let me say before I continue that I do not know deviantART's actual mathematical algorithm for front page ranking. However, I think that anyone who notices the composition of front pages (whether 8 hour or 24, main or by category) and the statistics of the pieces that populate those fronts pages can give you a pretty good guess.

Deviant blocking options based on tagThis isn't a feature DA has, but it's one it SHOULD have:Deviant blocking options based on tag2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Options let you select tags to block.
Any image with those tags is blocked like mature things when you have the mature filter on
Instead of just being blank, it shows you the "no entry" along with the name of the tag that's relevant (why it was blocked)
You can choose to preview it by putting the thumbnail over it (so if the title seems like something that's good, you can look at a small version of the image to verify without seeing the whole thing)
Alternatively, a second option per added tag would allow you to choose to just block that tag completely, no previews at all, just GONE.
Today I was thinking of this when I saw some "fat" fanart. To each their own; seriously, enjoy that if you want to, but I hate it. I don't want to see it. Ever.

So.Let's discuss fandoms.So.3 years ago in Personal More Like This
It annoys me when people hate a fandom because of a generalization. Take, for example, the MLP fandom. "That fandom is full of perverts,". Okay, yes, there is quite a bit of porn in that fandom. Does that mean everyone in the fandom is a sick fuck? No. It simply means that there is porn in the fandom. If somebody chooses to make porn, good for them. They do what they want, just as you do what you want.
What I've come to realize is that you shouldn't be afraid to try out a new fandom or thing because of horror stories and idiots. How much do you guys want to bet that for every idiot fan there is that there are at least 3 honest-to-goodness fans, if not more?
Let me tell you about something (and it's not Homestuck):
Every fandom has porn. Every fandom has slash and crack pairings. Every fandom has overly obsessive fangirls/boys. Every fandom has shitty fan characters (with the obvious exceptions of fandoms like Shelock and Dr. Who, where it's live action and a pers
