My second papercraft model. This guy was a nightmare! The original model had pretty much every piece going though every other piece... and that cape just about had me wanting to kick the little purple ball across the room. Totally worth it though. : ) Also, it will be another week or so before the file is ready for download; this is just a sneak peek.
An entry for Nintendo Papercraft's latest contest, this took about a month from start to finish. It's a papercraft of Valoo, from the Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker.
It was mostly an experiment into hand drawn papercrafts, and the sort of things that I can do... The whole thing was created in Adobe Illustrator and Paint Tool SAI, with the only 3D work being the building. The style was inspired by Chokipeta, but the end result is no where near on par!
Creating the parts themselves was mostly trial and error, drawing out the basic shape and then making builds and adjustments until it was right. After the body was done, some aspects were judged and measured from a build of that.
Once the parts were done, It was just a case of colouring them in using SAI. The colours on the body and neck parts were measured to make sure they aligned properly. There was one mishap on the lower neck, but that should be ironed out in the final version!
Just 2 pages and 15 parts, mostly 2D. Download and build your own here: [link]
Feel free to share and use the photo, just don't claim as your own and please distribute the link above, rather than the template itself.
-- Template and photo by me, based on the character Valoo from the Legend of Zelda series, both owned by Nintendo.
