Here's a dress design, featuring human Toothiana! She has such an awesome character design, how could I not? Her color scheme was fun to work with, as was finding ways to incorporate the wings, plumage, etc! I read through Tooth's backstory and discovered she was originally Southeast Asian, which I tried to show here. The story was really interesting, but kinda made my heart all sad :C.. Somehow I didn't expect Tooth to have a dark history I read her story here: [link] but beware of possible spoilers and sorrow..
On a more cheerful note though, I watched rotg yesterday and I loved it! I felt that the plot pacing could've been better, but the character designs, overall theme, and ANIMATION just completely blew me away!! :,D Yeah.. I'm quite obsessed right now :T.. expect more rotg from me XD
A gown of sorts, this time inspired by the Monarch Butterfly (one of my favorites)!! I wanted this one to look more regal and elegant so that it stays true to it's name!
Since I've been asked about medium multiple times, I'll just say here that this piece (along with the rest of the butterfly series and 95% of my gallery) was drawn completely in photoshop CS4 with a wacom tablet. The paper textures are added in afterwards for the traditional feel
Also, since it's already the 22nd where I am, happy thanksgiving to those who celebrate!! Here, have some virtual pumpkin pie! ---
Alladin also happens to be one of my many favorite movies, so I hope I did it justice! I tried to make this one look slightly genie-like with the fabric flow and the cuffs. The whole 'freedom and lack thereof' theme is meant to be there as well! Points to those who noticed that I tried using the official 'Jasmine&dove' pose, even though it got changed quite a bit Used double color schemes again, because it's interesting seeing them side by side, I think! ^.^

This is the most un-colorful drawing I've done in a while now.. XD I know Pitch isn't even technically a guardian, but he's such an awesome villain, I decided to design something based off his character design anyway!! :,D I tried to make the dress look somewhat wispy to represent all the nightmare sand. Designing aside, I have to say, genderbending him was quite fun!
So here are the career girls, before the chariot rides or the interview with Caesar I suppose From left to right: District 4 (fishing): This one was my favorite to draw/ design! I knew the color scheme I wanted to use, but I couldn't decide whether I wanted to stick with the water or fish theme. So I tried combining the two by liquifying the sleeves and.. fish-ifying the skirt. C: District 1 (luxury): I wanted this one to give off a more elegant vibe. Initially, it was just going to be a long dress with a halter top, a sparkle overload, and a very simple white-ish color scheme. I stuck with the first two plans, but then I got inspired by the grapefruit I was eating, hence the colors. :T District 2 (masonry): I was debating whether or not I wanted peacekeeper elements in this one, but decided against it and went all lithic. It was actually really fun to design :,D I'm just not sure how it'd ever be made into a real dress.. though I suppose through an excessive amount of wires it could work? They aren't in order, obviously : P. I just lined them up in the order I thought looked the best.
This was actually a commission, done for somebody I met over an internship! She doesn't have da :C But she's a HUGE hg fan; she saw some of my fashion sketches, liked them, and asked me to draw this, with herself as one of the models! (She's the masonry gal and yes, that hair is a pretty accurate portrayal! :,D) I've already sent the unwatermarked versions over, but in case she ever checks this… Melenie Yin, thanks again for commissioning me and giving me the opportunity! Now I'm tempted to draw the rest of the districts!

Her name is Jacqueline Frost. How does she know? The moon I told her so!
For this one, I wanted to keep the hood and the semi-puffy sleeves, as well as the right color scheme! Obviously, it turned out a lot more casual than the rest... I tried designing an elegant gown type thing, I really did!! But I scrapped it because somehow it just looked too out of character :I So simple it is! XD
On a slightly random note.. we had our first snowfall yesterday!
Yay more random clothing designs! At first, I was planning on drawing ladies from those good ol' black and white films with matching black and white dresses.. but then this happened instead It's still loosely based off the idea though! Oh well! I had meant to challenge myself with some color shading so
