Chapter 1: The Arena
The Tribes of Macintosh, Dingwall and Macguffin all gathered on the island of Berk, today was a competition of the first borns to win the hand of DunBroach's princess.
With the war on dragons threatening all of them, and war threatening to erupt between the the five clans. this was the perfect way to bring them all together. Naturally the first event would be dragon slaying.
It was a unusually sunny day on berk, the weather seemed to be mocking Hiccup as he stood with Astrid behind the barred doors staring into the arena.
He had to compete against all the other rival tribes first born young men. The trophy they were competing for was The princess's hand in marriage. Hiccup wanted anything but that, at fifteen years old he didn't want to get married but-
That was the least of his worries.
That was because today Hiccup wouldn't be winning anything. Today would be the day he showed everyone that, dragons didn't have to be killed. Astrid

Every creature – magical or not – would have assumed that Jack Frost was a skilled troublemaker. You would've guessed that he was responsible for the cold gusts of wind that chilled you to the core; for the icy spot on the pavement that makes you trip over yourself; for the five-foot layer of snow that you have to scrape off your walkways, windshields and window panes.
Jack knew very well who he was – the master of pranks, and the champion of tricks. But he wouldn't let his ego overinflate. You see, whilst every hero might be in the spotlight, and every king on his throne, Jack never forgot that they had sidekicks and knights – people who backed them up.
And so did he.
'Are the targets in sight?' asked Jack, murmuring to his co-conspirator.
His friend leaned over the railing that they were sitting on, smirked as he spotted his victims, and nodded vigorously.
'Then, on the count of three,' smiled Jack. 'One,'
'Wait, wait, wait,' said his accomplice, 'why do you

North made out of his magic portal with his sleigh. He looked over his sleigh’s ledge to see large rock pit down far below him. Squinting, he could see a blue-purple topped stone tower covered in ivy and moss. It looked just like the tower in the image back at the workshop. North snapped his reindeers’ reins and pulled back, making his sleigh descend to the ground below. Suddenly, thunder boomed overhead and storm clouds quickly rolled in. On the horizon, a black cloud slithered towards the tower; Black Sand. North bit his bottom lip and snapped the reins again, making the reindeer go faster. He finally made it to the tower’s window and pushed the heavy wood shutters open. North jumped out of his sleigh and into the tower, he signaled his reindeer to circle the tower. The reindeer took off in a heartbeat. As North turned around, a flash of dark grey flashed in the corner of his eye. He drew out his swords and blocked the object; he raised his eyebrows when the object
A Dance in DunBrochAll around the wall to wall stone hall, colourful tapestries hung each representing a different symbol of; a sword, a cauldron, a rock or a lyre. Dozens of candles flickered around the room, giving a warm glow to the giant hall. To the left of the room, a small group of musicians played an uplifting tune to the dancers that skipped in a circle in the center. All around the edge of the room huge wooden tables and chairs sat families, friends, neighbours and couples either deep in conversation or clapping to the music and cheering at the dancers.A Dance in DunBroch2 years ago in General Fiction More Like This
Hiccup watched in fascination at the dance before him. The Scot's feet seemed to twist, turn and twirl in time with the music at such ease. The dancers seemed lost, completely absorbed, not even taking a moment to look down at their feet. Each had a smile on their face, their eyes lit up as they gazed at their dance partners. He must have been staring for a while since Merida's voice brought him back to the Main Hall.

The sound of his own voice was deafening as everything froze around him. Toothless reared up with a loud screech as he watched his companion's friend tumble across the raging battle field. Without a moment's hesitation, Hiccup pulled on the reins of the dragon and they immediately shot towards the fallen princess. The pair dove between Scots clashing against Vikings in a desperate attempt to reach her. Arrows scraped his cheeks and clicked against Toothless' scaly body, but the young man barely noticed, his emerald eyes glued on the redhead girl.
Weakly, she glanced up as the Night Fury skid to a stop in front of her and his rider jumped off his harness. Despite her pain, she was able to smile upon seeing him. North was busy creating a new ice-train. Christmas was still a few months away, but then again he has to deliver millions of toys to billions of kids. Everything was going just right until, bang! His office door slammed open, making his new creation crumble in his hands. "Ack! My train!" North turned around to see one of his yeti workers, "Ah, my friend. What is the matter?" The yeti burst out a line of frantic grunts and groans. North knit his eyebrows, "The Globe?" He walked past the yeti and to the Globe. The Globe keeps record of children of the world that still Believed, bad or good or naughty or nice. The Guardian of Wonder let out a hardy laugh and said to his worried toy-maker, "It is fine! Nothing is wrong with the Globe. Everything is in order, sure a few lights went out but that happens every day. Some stop Believing as more Believers come." As he walked away, the yeti huffed and looked at the Globe again, its eyes widened at what it saw form on the globe. Quickly, the yeti

** I don't own the characters Jack Frost or Rapunzel. This is just for enjoyment. Thanks!**
Rapunzel sat on her bed quietly, her and mother had gotten into another argument about Rapunzel wanted to go outside. Mother had heard enough of her pleas and sent her back to her room. 'Why can't I go outside.. I just want to see the world.' She sighed and laid back on her bed, and sighed deeply.
An hour later Mother called out, "Rapunzel, Come here please I need to go to the market for more ingredients for dinner."
Rapunzel sighed then breathed in deeply before getting up off her bed and walking out her room, "Coming Mother." She walked over to her Mother looking down at her feet.
Mother sighed, "I'm Sorry, Rapunzel.. But, its a dangerous place out there.. I don't want you to get hurt.." She places a hand on her shoulder. "Okay?"
Rapunzel shrugged, "Yeah, I guess your'e right. I'm sorry."

For some reason, Rapunzel's head was throbbing as she opened her eyes. She slowly looked around, her breath quickening from fear for not recognizing her surroundings…for what she could see, that is. All she could remember is her mother asking her to sing that song to her, after that, nothing. Shivers shook her body and she rubbed her arms. 'What is this place?' Rapunzel got up to her feet and slowly crept throw the dark, twisting halls. As she went on, she heard voices. Curious, she continued to walk, the voices now easier to decipher their hushed tones. Rapunzel silently yelped when she saw a very large, spiky rock-like tail came out of nowhere. She hid behind a stone wall.
"What do you mean: 'destroy her'?!" a female voice yelled in the distance.
'Mother?' Rapunzel strained her hearing to go farther.
"She is one of the Four, you know that…" a slick, sly male voice answered.
'Who was that?' Rapunzel eyes widened. 'Are they talking about me…?'

Jack Frost has been visiting this beautiful maiden, named Rapunzel, for ages. And yet, after all those years, he’s still invisible and intangible to her. He tried everything to get her attention, he shouted as loud as he could, made faces of all sorts, stri—(well, no. He’s not that type of dude). But I have to say that giving up never crossed his mind – until… now.
“Rapunzel, dear, why can’t you ever see me? Those beautiful green eyes, I’ve been wanting to see them stare at mine and to tell you the truth, I am tired, tired of not being seen, tired of not being recognized – tired of waiting for those eyes to look at me even for once…” Jack said hopelessly but when Rapunzel looked to his direction, to the window pane where he sits, his hopes were fueled. He quickly pushed those thoughts away and replaced them with some encouraging words. “No, don’t say that. Don’t say that you’re tired. You should

Sandy noticed uncomfortableness rising from the young Guardians. He made a question mark over his head.
Jack sharply inhaled before he asked, "Do you guys know a girl named Katelynn?"
North let out a hardy laugh, "Jack, there are thousands of Katelynns in the world! I need more detail than that!"
"Does West Salem help?" Rapunzel asked.
North ran his fingers through his beard. "Hm…that narrows it down a little bit."
"She lives in the same town as Jamie." Rapunzel added.
North thought for a second then snapped his fingers. "Oh! Is it Katelynn Odden?" Jack nodded. "I haven't heard her name for quite a while…why? Has something happened?"
'Odden? Sounds like 'Odin'…' Hiccup shook the thought away and answered, "Yes. She has been…"
"Kidnapped." Merida finished. "We went to her house after she…" She looked at Jack for the right word.

Aibhlinn was gutting fish in the early morning fog with her family. It had been a terrific catch and the entire village had been working hard all night to prepare the fish for preservation. They had run out of salt already, so mum was building up the fire to smoke the rest of the fish.
The smoke smelled heavy in the still air, which covered the stink of the fish guts a little.
Struan and some of his friends had gone out to the forest to get more wood, mainly branches to set the fish on. Aibhlinn liked Struan. He was a strapping lad, he made her feel a little funny inside and she tended to giggle for no reason whenever he looked at her. She was almost of age to start walking out with him. She was hoping so hard he would ask her, she tried to be near him as much as she could. He looked at her sometimes with such a gentle look on his face. Her pretty brown braids were falling apart from all the work, but she would make herself look extra good after a go

The bell rang out as a flock of birds flew from the watch tower. Students bustled about, chattering with people they know, and some making new acquaintances. The sun rose high into the sky and a late summer breeze washed over the open area. A few students walked inside the building, while some were still making their way over on the path. However, one student remained behind on a bench, a freshman dressed in a white uniform. His pen slid over the pages of a tattered sketchbook. His tongue stuck out to the side a bit as his emerald eyes followed each stroke of the pen. For a moment, his left hand rested at his side, and the lad smiled at his work. His smile soon drooped as his pen went back to work, gliding over a few mistakes left behind from before.
“Hey! Stop that,” a feminine voice called from behind him. His pen stopped for a moment; his ears tuned in to the conversation budding behind him. Again, the voice continued,

Hiccup woke up to the sound of Toothless’ teeth extending, which made him sit up and look around really quickly. It was really early in the morning, a torch was guttering low on the wall by the kitchen. The windows were covered with wooden shudders and furs to keep out the cold but there were still drafts making the torch waver.
In front of Toothless were four young children. Three were redheads, Merida had introduced them as Harris, Hubert and Hammish, but he had no idea who was whom. Merida seemed to have no problem with it though.
There was another child, a little blonde girl about the same age as the boys. She had a halo of messy blonde hair, that told Hiccup that she must be related to Lord MacGuffin. He knew that Lord MacGuffin had some other children besides Kevin, his firstborn. There was a son about Hiccup’s age that he had seen, but hadn’t been introduced to. As well as a preteen girl, who he had seen rush up

Hiccup felt the cold fingertips gliding over his features; he felt the light touch of blunt fingernails over his freckled cheekbones, he felt the pad of Jack's thumb press against his eyebrow and tracing it. Cold fingers ran down from his temple to his jaw, before they curved off along the bone and reached his lips, where they lingered and stroked the slightly chapped skin there, tracing the edges of his lips, and running along the crevice between them.
The corners of those lips curved upwards, prompting the cold appendages to run over the slight indentations in his cheeks caused by

“We already have a problem, are you saying there is a bigger problem out there we have to deal with? We took out a lot of dragons, finally.” asked Fergus. He had one of the boys on his lap. He was feeling pretty good, they had taken out a large number of dragons and the rest had fled. They had lost only a few sheep.

Merida came tearing out of the castle. Maudie had told her a dragon had been sighted.
She looked into the sunset. It was Toothless. She ran to wait in the big field as he got closer. Her parents and others came to see. The trees were covered in the bright green of new spring growth now.
She had figured out that Hiccup was trying to get away from her once Astrid had shown up. As her parents had talked to Astrid, Hiccup had cupped her cheek in his hand and looked into her eyes, then he had gathered his things and left without a word. She figured that it was somehow too dangerous for him to say something. It was obvious that Astrid was jealous, and dangerous. But it had left her feeling devastated for him to leave without actually saying good-bye to her and she didn’t know why.
She knew that Astrid was dangerous, but so was she. Hiccup had said Astrid had basically claimed him after he recovered from their adventure

It was quite late but she wanted to get to the kitchen, it should be nice and warm there. She also needed some Chamomile tea to calm her down, a terrible nightmare had woken her up.
Merida also couldn’t sleep from the soreness in her shoulder. She had never fired that many arrows as she and her mum could do for so long or so quickly. It had drained her and her arm and shoulder seemed so much more tired then the rest of her. She had never really thought about how she fired her arrows or what effects it had on her. She had talked to mum and all they could do was rest and recover as fast as they could.
