I've been asked many times from notes about the brushes that I use as well as request for .abr/.tpl file. So here they are . ^^ They are basic ones that I mostly use on my work, so I hope you enjoy using it.
How to put the .abr /.tpl (brush file) to Photoshop
> Extract from .zip > there are .abr and .tpl files
For .abr ( Normal brush present ) > At the top right of [Brush Present] window >> Present Manager >> Load brushes (.abr) file
For .tpl ( As a tool present) > At the top right of [Tool Present] window >> Load Tool Presents (.tpl) file
* Please save the current brushes and tools first in case you don't like my brushes ^_^
-- If you have any question or it doesn't work right please feel free to ask me! Also let me know your if you like it or not
Chalk brush for all purposes that I've made it from scratch since awhile ago. ( Actually it's so easy lol. I just painted the brush shape and texture then after defined it I adjusted the setting ) I like this one because I love chalk/pastel effect. So here I share it to you. ^_^
Download from >> "Download File" It's supposed to work fine for any version of PS since all the settings are basic. I'm currently using PS CS6 transfer option = other dynamic option = = = = =
As a brush - You can adjust opacity jitter / flow jitter option as you want or follow from my setting. You can also play around with texture option and add more effect to it. ( From what you see above I don't add the texture option yet, but it has some texture effect because the brush itself that I painted.)
Make it to soft chalk - At the brush option > Brush Tip Shape > set Spacing lower from 4%-10% and take scattering option off. Then at the Transfer/other dynamic option > Opacity Jitter at the *minimum* % (below controls option ) set to 10-20% instead of 50%

As a smudge brush - you can also use this one for smudge tool. Adjust scattering option like the setting from above is what I like the most. You are going to like it too I know!

As an eraser - I use as an eraser sometimes
Here are some sample work that I used this brush.
Try it and tell me how do you like. I hope you enjoy using it.
By popular demand, here are five brushes I've been using recently. None of these are meant for any specific purpose, so I use any of these brushes to do any part of any painting. By mixing them throughout a project, I get a less smooth, less digital and more cohesive look.
Here's a dropbox link to the file, since some have reported having problems with the dA download [link]
These are meant to be used with a pressure sensitive tablet. They're created in PS CS6, but I think they're compatible with earlier versions!
EDIT: A little announcement for a fellow artist in need. 's hearing aid broke, so she opened emergency commissions 50-for-nothing-cent.deviantart… She needs it on a daily basis, so any help to solve this issue asap would be appreciated ;u; Thank you! <3
Hi-res brushes (except 1st one that works better on low-res hair drawings) that should work in every Photoshop CS version and in PS 7.0. To get them click download button on the right side of this description.
Apparently, they work in Gimp 2.8.6 too

Working with the brushes:
You can sell works made by these brushes, or use them for private/educational purposes, it's completly up to you.
Crediting me under your work for using brushes is nice but only optional
It's a brush pack, that 15-6 years old me made out of various watercolour and pencil stains from my sketches. So, due to them being so old, I think they should work even with the PS 7.0. I just arranged them, cleaned up and over-saved the .abr file in PS CS5, but there's nothing, that shouldn't work in older versions I guess. They are simple, since I made them at the beggining of my digital painting adventure... I highly recommend messing with opacity flow set to pen pressure or shape dynamics Some of the brushes have it, some don't, also, decreasing spacing in shape dynamics to about 8-9 from normal 25 gives more fluent stroke in some cases... so please, experiment! These brushes are in quite raw form, because I wanted to keep them like they were originally (despite some noob mistakes XD)
Enjoy, I hope?
Edit: Thank you guys and girls so, so much. You're incredible: I would never expect such warm welcome for this upload. And seriously, again, thank you so much.
After so many people requested it, I finally found the time to go through my gigantic pile of brushes and clean them from duplicates and presets I've never really used. The set is built on brushes found all over the internet. You may or not find in it brushes made by ~DanHowardArt, `DanLuVisiArt, *CoyoteMange, *algenpfleger and many many more. I picked and chose what I liked from them and that's how this big-ass set came to life.
The set contains 174 brushes that I use on an everyday basis. For your convenience it's divided into 9 categories:
Basic - brushes I use the most. Most of my paintings are made using those particular brushes and often I use only those alone. Brushes from the following categories are just an addition and are used depending on the subject and stylization I work in.
Clouds - a few dynamic brushes to paint skies, mist and smoke.
Rock - perfect for rocks, ground and other rough surfaces.
Water - splashes and brushes with wet edges - best if used with light paint on dark surfaces.
Hair & Feathers - Well, ain't I a douchebag. I completely forgot to check the release document for most of the fur and feather brushes and now had to remove them from the set. To download the brushes I use for painting fur, feathers and scales, please visit this brush set --> [link] made by *CoyoteMange
Plants - a very big set of dynamic brushes for painting foliage. Most of them are hand-painted giving pictures a very nice and unified look.
Details - all sorts of little things that add to the final image - seams, light effects, laces and trinkets.
Textures - yummy grunge and garbage that will make those flat surfaces look interesting. Scratches, wrinkles, rust, pores, stains - all you'll ever need.
Smudge - special brushes for blending. They give very interesting blur and displacement effects.
Why lazy? Because there are plenty of brushes that make your life easier.
The set works best with Photoshop CS5 and CS6. It should work with versions from 2 to 4 too but some of the brushes might not give the same effects.
Feel free to download and pick whatever you like. Have fun!
Alright there are many requested notes asking me many questions. I will explain them all here as well!
Which brushes are the best to use? No, there is no best brushes. It's all depending on the each person. First of all, I want to suggest that brushes are not the most important part for painting, but your practicing and hard working will make you paint better! ( I mean yes they are helpful when we use for specific things, and we feel comfortable to use them, so we feel enjoy painting. ) However, the best brushes for you are the ones that make you want to continue painting with them. As long as you try and you like them!
From the brushes that I've shared, I used them all in their own specific ways. [ Basic Painting Brushes ] are what I used mostly before, and [ Winter 2012 brushes ] I like to use them for sketches and painterly style more.
I also still try to create new ones to see if I will like them even more! and yes I have found that [ Wet edge option ] and [ Color dynamic option ] can be useful to improve the brushes. You will find that the new brushes set that I've made are included some options. ( You can download and try them from "Download" >>> ^^ )
What you need to know
* From the image above, the names are just for fancy and separate them from others! lol Every brush can be used for anything and it depends on you!
* For Photoshop only! ( Recommend for CS 5 and above, but if you have older versions please try them and I think they work fine )
* I don't need credit for this. I love brushes! and like to try making new ones. Please feel free to use.
Finally, I love to collect brushes from other artists and tried them all. I learnt them to see the differences and I really enjoy using them. Their brushes are amazing and I recommend you to try them all. ^^= Of course, they are amazing artists and thank you so much for sharing them to us all!
Since I know I won't have time to paint you a pretty Christmas pic this year (like the other years before), I would at least share with what I create my pictures. This is one small bunch of my selfmade custom brushes for Photoshop.
Some brushes can be a pain in the bum to use especially because their texture and style is so distinctive that changing brushes whilst painting can turn into a negative part of creating an image for the starters among the digital artists.
So I tried to create brushes that are simple to use for shading, detailing, etc.
I hope you enjoy, my dears.
How to load brushes into your program:
- Select the brush tool or hit the key "B" to select the tool.
- Click next to the arrow of the shown brush on the upper tool bar to open the "Brush Preset Picker".
- click the small arrow on the right side next to where you see the pixel size.
- then select "Load Brushes" and choose the files.
- there you go! The brushes will be loaded underneath all your other brushes.
P.S:: You don't need to but it would be lovely (and also because I'm so curious) if you could link me your works for which you used these brushes. :]
Please do not redistribute or sell these brushes. Thank you!
Hey guys here are the Photoshop brushes that i often use in my paintings.
Click the download button to download, also these brushes were created in PS5, Works for Ps CS4, CS3 I'm not sure if it'll work with other photoshop versions, hopefully it does ; !
I included 56 brushes in there, some I use often like the airbrush for skin, and some I like to experiment with. Feel free to try them out. A lot of them are Photoshop standard brushed that I changed the settings on. I recommend playing around with the brush settings to see what you like best because every bush has the potential to be awesome, you just need to find the way to use it : ). Also I usually paint at 70-100% opacity with the pressure option on( its already included in the brushes).
