Jean-luc sighed as Data finished his first performance on the new instrument. To be sure, as always, the android had quickly learned how to proficiently play the thing. Picard just hated to be the the one to have to tell Data that no matter how impressive the accordion may look, not everyone would appreciate its... unique sound as much as the violin. He had to remind himself that his advice to the man with no emotions would not be met with disappointment.

My heart exploded, I nearly died,
When I saw just how little he cried.
I know it's killing him, deep inside,
I can see it when I look him in the eye.
There's nothing I can do, nothing to save him,
He never deserved a situation so grim.
A good heart and soul has he,
So how is it that this could possibly be?
He's trying to be strong, I know he is,
But I cant even imagine losing an angel like his.
And soon he'll be on his way back home,
To bury the happiest child he'd ever known.
