Trying to paint a lava scape this time. Adding a bit of fantasy to the scene with the huge rocks and the little oriental village on it. I can't imagine how difficult it must be living there. I guess dragons are their best friends
Hello everyone! Another new painting which i have been working on recently. I enjoyed working on this piece as it was fun dealing with asian architecture which is a favourite of mine. I had alot of fun coming up with the colour palette for the piece which i thought suited the look i was going for. Hope you guys like it and do look forward to more work coming from me in the weeks to come! Cheers~
Edit: Wow, thanks for all the kind comments and favourites. Wasn't expecting this painting to be liked by so many people. You guys are awesome!
So I have a few paintings in the cooker that I'm sneaking in between all the end of year festivities. I hope all of you out there are having a nice time with family and friends and can unwind for a bit. Maybe more coming this year, if not see all of you in 2013. Thanks for your support and kind words!

Back to landscapes for a while
So, I wanted to paint a castle lost in time and space. Some kind of oriental and occidental mixture in architecture. The first sunlights are touching the temple walls as the village awakes. As a village, there is a central temple and the slums with poor families placed all around it. On the left I tried to paint some sort of market.
As usual, around 6000x9000px to be printed at 60x90cm. About 55hours to achieve all detail when printed at that size.
Everything painted in Photoshop. Textures used from www.cgtextures.com, especially the ones from Jonas de Ro, and www.sxc.hu.
