Are the first of the Eldar Kindred;
Of those who set forth to the West,
Their Journey nothing hindered.
Fewest are they of the Firstborn,
But wisest are they in mind.
And as for courage of the heart;
More valiant none can find.
Music and poetry is their joy,
At the foot of the Holy Mountain they dwell.
Favored are they by the King and Queen of the Powers,
Love for them, in their hearts, does swell.

And deep their loyalty to their King;
When, during the Great Journey, he mysteriously vanished,
Mournful songs for him they did sing.
When the others continued West, they refused to go on,
Still loyal to their lord, they determined to await him.
So when their Kindred departed, they remained behind,
And called themselves the Forsaken.
Their long vigil rewarded when at last did their King return,
A beautiful Queen at his side;
Now tallest of Firstborn was he, and silver of hair;
And glorious was the light of wisdom in his brides eyes.
Great was the peoples joy; for no longer forsaken!
And content to dwell beneath the stars, People of Twilight,
Named the Grey Ones, in honor of their High King;
For over 3000 years did he reign in great might.
The greatest of Firstborn in the mortal lands,
Were those who were called the Grey.
Mighty were they, and vast their realm,
The Queens Girdle ever held evil at bay.
Lovers of trees were the Grey

One kiss for you,
As the the sun sets,
And the water starts to cool.
Two eyes lay on your flesh,
Scanning the beauty with a grin,
And staring into eyes that the goddess gifted to you.
Three hours no one will come,
By this cove and we are all alone,
In that time my every motion will paint my love.
Four more life times,
I wish to spend with you,
Till the final rebirth in summer land.
Five rings of emerald,
Grace your sweet fingers,
As stones of mother earth that I found for you.
Six ruby red marks,
Show to you my devotion,
As I let you lay absolute claim.
Seven days they say,
Was needed to make the world,
And seven million more I will hunger for you.

When dealing with such complex works as The Lord of the Rings and its affiliated books, written by J.R.R. Tolkien and in some cases edited by his son Christopher, one becomes saturated by the vast variety of characters and races represented. However, one must keep in mind that all the races can be broken down further than a general classification. An excellent example of this is Elves, the Eldar, Firstborn Children of Iluvatar.
Although all Elves are indeed the Firstborn Children, they can first be divided into two classes: the Calaquendi, the Elves of Light, the High-elves, those Elves who heeded the westward summons and dwelt in Valinor, land of the Gods, during the time of the Two Trees; and the Moriquendi, Elves of the Darkness, who remained in Middle Earth and never saw the Light that was before the Moon and Sun, for they were the lovers of stars and the twilight.
The Calaquendi contained three groups of Elves: the Vanyar, the Noldor, and the

Are these Firstborn who dwell by the sea.
When the Grey Ones they left, twas their last Sundering they thought.
But such was not to be.
With the other Kindreds they had traveled west,
From the long trek many others had strayed.
But all through the long hardships and waiting,
On the Great Journey they had stayed.
They believed their journey nearly over,
For the boundary of Middle Earth they had reached.
While they awaited the Ocean Lord, his Vassals they met.
And from them learned all they had to teach.
When the time came to depart with the Ocean Lord,
Some did not accompany the Host.
For they had come to love the shores of Middle Earth,
Its waves stirred them the most.
In mortal lands they were the first to build ships,
For to explore the waters they long.
Gatherers of shell and coral are they;
Always they heed the oceans song.
Great Havens they built in Middle Earth,
Mighty ships and collections of pearl;

A young man,
Sat alone in a box,
Made of his own doubts and fears.
Each day he threw,
A paper plane outside,
Watching as the wind took it home.
The planes were,
Really letters he wrote,
To any voice that would listen.
One day a reply was sent,
In the same way his letters took flight,
And the message was by a young lass name Rem.
More letters took flight,
As back and forth the two spoke,
With wings formed from oak's bark.
Soon another girl,
Also added her letters,
To the flights sea of flow.
Her name was Ren,
And her friend Mary joined,
Each day the three sent the young man news.
How the city was,
How the sky was such a bright blue,
And how the water that rested by the city port looked so new.
One day as he threw the letter,
His step was one to far and with a slip,
The young man collided with the edge of his seal.

Many other glorious kingdoms did they build,
Seven High Kings they have known.

Command of MasteryCommand of Mastery4 years ago in Concrete Poetry More Like This
Will you conduct Mastery,
Weaving threads of reality,
Like a spell with quick success?
Wrap a soul,
In words of love and caress.
And meaning fill
A glass of sinlessness
And without any reason,
A complete control of another.
So tightly bound
That the sound of a name,
Can cause a deepened echo.
Will any stand truly tall,
And claim mastery over all,
In a form even a fool can comprehend?
We hunger no master,
For to be a slave is to live,
Without a sense of self or power.
But we decree,
A unending need,
To belong to another.
And in the end,
Though the name may change,
The need will never truly die away.
Thus once more
It is begged and screamed
For another to rob control and logic.
Because you see,
That so deeply coded into us,
Is the form of highest pleasure.
And in final note,
The songstress sings,
For mastery of all to be holy
Can one contain,
The truth in the soul,
And bind so deeply a heart in need.
With final creed,
Will you lack deceit,

Knowing what harm it does.
So she wears a mask,
That could best the jester's
With a smile carefully put in place,
She walks about her day
Under that mask a small girl cries.
Lost and lonely and ready to die
Huddled in a corner in the only light.
She watches the shadows,
as they creep closer.
She holds her hope,
In a silver locket that once was gold.
Clings to it in vain faith,
That one day she will be able to run from the shadows.
Knowing that it will never come true .
She watches over me and you.
Looking through the eyes of that smiling girl you see.
She laughs but with tears in her eyes.
So she closes her eyes when ever she laughs,
So no one can see,
what lays hidden underneath .
look closely next time you watch her laugh.
And look for the tears.
It's like looking through crystal glass.
So painfully obviously,
That you chose to look away,
And look only upon the smiling girl you love.
Man of rulesMan of rules3 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
A good man,
Has so few rules,
The best go without a one.
But what of those,
Who are so tied down,
By the binds that sanity construct?
A good man,
Has so many rules,
When the temper underneath is a monster.
Stars scream loudly,
When a Good man goes to war,
And the universe cries at all the blood as it dries.
A bad man has no rules,
But so true is for the powerless,
The happy gent sitting on the corner street.
So I must ask,
What monster sleeps at night,
When the Good man goes to war?
When he of so many rules,
For just one day chooses to stop running?

Brave like thousands of the men

He looked so deeply in my eyes, and said

I couldn’t hide tears in my eyes, for I knew
He won’t return anymore
I heared his voice in my ears, as he said
„Wait for me there on the shore“
Then he entred city’s gates

And he said he came once more
Honour allegiance of old days
I saw him standing on the walls
He so noble seemed to be
Holding elven bow in his hands
Silky hair flowing in the wind
I saw him fighting with long sword
This great and skilled warrior
Such courage there he showed
He slayed many of the orcs
Suddenly I saw him on his kn

It was cold here, upon Taniquetil. The air was thin, and the snow on the peak never melted. The wind didn't blow. It was peaceful, serene a white silence stretching through the halls of Ilmarin. There, high above all, Manwë sat on his throne, and his sight was directed to the east. The threat to Middle-earth has been destroyed. The One Ring has been melted in the fires of Orodruin, and a new age began. Change could be felt all over the world. And yet the expression of the Elder King was not one of joy. His all-seeing eyes were half-closed, focused not on the happening in the world, but something else. A memory, maybe. Then h
