Bobbing at the surface
between light and dark,
here and there…
But there is no
in between.
There is no escape,
and I question if there will ever be
a way out of this Hell.
I scream at the top of my lungs
from the bottom of my hole,
but no one helps me out
or dares to try.

Mr. and Mrs. Lowe sat anxiously in the small cluttered doctor’s office. They sat side by side in a red plush couch, waiting silently for the genealogist to enter. The desk in front of them was covered with books, loose paper, and family portraits. Plopped in the middle was a high-tech laptop. Mrs. Lowe gave her husband’s hand a tight squeeze and looked around at the posters on the wall. One had a picture of five perfectly beautiful babies smiling at each other. It read, “Neogenealogy: Creating a society of healthier, happier people.” Another had a picture of five-years-olds dressed up

And past skipped down the memory lane
Nothing matters much
when all is said and done
So we should keep walking
On parallel roads, yet never talking
Just as life goes on
When all is said and done
If life is to be led this way, so be it
No sighs will be heard, no tears shed for it
No reason to fear pain
When all is said and done

I don't know where I would be
If I didn't have them by my side
They are always on my mind
They always know how to make me smile
I would run a thousand miles
Just so I could be with them
I can't think about what my life
Would be like without them around
They always brighten my day
Even when I am in such a low mood
They know just the right things to say
I wouldn't be who I am today
If it wasn't for my friends
They made me who I am
They made a part of me
Come out that I never knew I had inside
They accept every side of me
The good and the bad
They put up with all of my problems
And they are a

There is no such thing as perfection. You have to earn the grades. You have to be yourself and talk to girls/boys in order to get one. To have lots of friends, you have to put yourself out there and be a friend, but just because you have few friends, doesn't mean you are worthless. Wouldn't you rather have a select few that you KNOW will be there for you or have a whole wad of friends and n

A Dark LakeA Dark LakeA Dark Lake1 year ago in Short Stories More Like This
The setting sun lit the lake afire. Ripples wrought waves of the dusken flames across the water. As the sun fell beyond the horizon, it left a sky of dripping blood. The surface of the water shimmered as a crimson drop silently fell. Cold eyes watched as the drop disappeared into the clear waters
A warmth spread through me, as a burden was lifted from my shoulders. My eyes slipped shut, as the adrenaline coursed through my veins.
Hours past, sirens broke the stillness. The lake stood solemnly. As the darkness smothered the land, a dark figure stalked silently away.
For the constant hunger, must be sated.

Dream SnatcherThe silent widower of thoughts,Dream Snatcher1 year ago in Free Verse More Like This
Creeps upon the dreams of night.
Stalking through the dusk,
The vigilant hunter of hope.
The witching hour rises,
As nightfall ushers in,
A hushed menace.
Innocent children lie in rest,
As hopes of days to come,
Are snatched before their shiftless lids.
Gliding on the bowels of gloom,
Ever squirming,
Writhing,
The demon that is,
The dream snatcher.

I just cant seem to get that day off my head. Its just been countless month...no, years since that day. I cant ever forget it.
Zon, where are you going? I asked anxiously. He all packed up, ready to go.
Tell me where youre going! I demanded. He looked away from my face.
I have to go somewhere; its my dads orders. Since he is the general of his military, he told me I have to follow in his footsteps. He told me that, soon, I have to take over his business. He paused.
When will you be back? I asked.

Almost four years. Well, three years, nine months, two weeks and four days I answered. Leon and Nara just stared at me in silence. They were both disappointed; I couldnt blame them though. I looked away so that I wouldnt have to see thei

No! Please, no! Tell me this is a lie!! I said looking at Leons and Naras miserable faces. They told me that Zon was dead. I didnt want to believe it, but it did seem possible. No! Hes alive! I know it! My voice broke. I had uncontrollable tears. I could hardly speak anymore.
No, was the only word I could manage to say.
No, no, no, no, no.
Then, I heard a doorbell ringing. I quickly opened my eyes, alarmed by the sound of the bell. I was relieved when I realized I was just having a nightmare. Thankfully

Once upon a time, there was a lake, laid around with white frost, where winter reigned. It was known in villages some miles away as the Lake of Winter. In further parts, it was simply called the Ice Loch. Swans, ash-coloured, swam there, to guard it from curious travellers. If anyone made their way into the lake, there they disappeared, and were never heard from again. People said that a siren turned it to ice in her anger at being abandoned by one she loved. She swore that only true love could survive the winter of her heart.
Let us walk away from this cold place, towards a boy and a girl. They are in love. I could go on about their love an

There is a time in everyone's life when they wish they could turn back time and relive an experience, armed with the memories to change the outcome. There are uncountable times in my life well, let's not get into that. I'm here to tell you about a girl named Merri. She lived through a confrontation between her mother and her father, which did not go well.
Merri and her mother were sitting in companionable silence together in their house, when the front door banged open and in came her father. His eyes were wild, his voiced slurred; the man was clearly drunk and very angry. He ignored

"Send him in." Dr. Harleen Quinzel pulled her shoulder length blonde hair back into a loose ponytail and closed the file she had been perusing. She looked up at the door in time to watch the newest addition to Arkham Asylum shuffle into the office and sit in the chair directly opposite her desk.
"Joker," she breathed.
"Hello, doc-tor." He enunciated every syllable carefully, slurring slightly as he ran his tongue over his upper lip.
Harleen shivered. His voice sounded like a mixture of nails on a chalkboard and a car driv

Un verdadero hogar2 years ago in Stories & Vignettes More Like This

Sólo deseo vagar, vagar hasta que pierda la noción de mi existencia.

And how you carried me when I was three.
I remember your tight hugs
And your your white gloves
And wondering what I was gonna be.

I'm walking down a narrow hallway.
I'm still thinking of what I'm gonna say.
And it hurts me deep inside.

This is not what I expected.
Right then and there I had to cry.
