On this night, we gaze up to the sky and wonder at the stars sparkling high. For this is the night, pristine, everlasting The moon shines down, its rays ever casting And henceforth, the night serenely fades away in favor of a longer, brighter day.
I've been waiting six months to make this one. It was interesting trying to match [link] while utilizing six months of new tricks. Or maybe I just haven't developed that much. I hope that's not the case.
And so concludes the Solstice set, albeit a very small set indeed. As the heavens cycle, so shall I see you all in the new year. Have a wonderful holiday and a happy new year.
I loved this concept. I HAD to draw something with it. I just absolutely loved the idea of Luna helping calm other ponies' nightmares especially since she was once the biggest nightmare herself once upon a time. This episode gave me SO much more respect for the Princess of the Night.
From on high, the gods make sport of the mortals who toil below them. None know the cruelty of these beings better than Twilight Sparkle, a beautiful magician who was torn away from her friends by the godsí divine hands. Granted immortality, Twilight Sparkle now whiles away her days in an inescapable miniature garden for the amusement of the gods, particularly Celestia. But the gods themselves are no strangers to the boredom of eternal life, and as Twilight Sparkle quickly discovers, they will do anything to keep themselves entertained, both at her expense and at one anotherís.
I read this manga called "Olimpos" a while ago, its quite philosophical and a bit hard to understand but I felt like Twilight and Celestia could easily be transfered onto Ganymede and Apollo. Luna could easily be either Hades or Artemis, and Fausticorn would easily replace Zeus. After all the rumours about Twilight becoming an Alicorn herself, it feels like its even more fitting.
