ZaDr short story: In the Dead of the Night"See there?" A gloved finger extended upwards towards the sky, as if trying to poke it's infinite black depths; an impossible task. Amongst millions of winking white jewels sprawled against the dark curtain of night, there was only one being pointed at. To many other stargazers, that one dot might seem like....well, just a dot. Not to this particular observer though. "That's my home. Irk." Zim explained, returning his hand to it's original spot at his side. Dib nodded, hanging off of each word and letter that flowed from the other's mouth. On an ordinary Thursday night, the two adversaries would most likely be engaged in a ruthless battle, but not today. You see, even engrossed enemies such as this Irken/human duo need a break once in a while, and they preferred to spend their time staring at the sky once the sunlight had made itself scarce. It was the one time they could finally burry the hatchet before having to dig it up come next morn.
"What's it like flying up there?" The pale ski

If the birds soaring though in the tangerine sky looked directly below them, they would find me resting on the edge of a cliff with my feet dangling off the edge. They'd sing my lover and I a melody which neither of us understand, but enjoy none the less. Waves crash below us, but I promised to keep him safe. Nothing bad would happen as long as we were together. The summer breeze kisses my face while the last remaining rays of sunlight reach out to me, casting a soothing, golden glow. "Promise you won't let it hurt me?" The person sitting next to me asks, peering down at the ocean below with fear written across is face. My partner is very different from I, yet in an oddly captivating and beautiful way. His erratic behavior always keeps me on my toes, but maybe that's what I like about us. Everyday
ZaDR - Homecoming Part 2A few weeks passed, and soon, it was time to vote for homecoming king and queen. Dib managed to convince Zim that they should vote for someone other than themselves, since that wasn't very modest. After much deliberation, they agreed to cast both of their votes on Zita and her boyfriend. Dib even managed to keep Zim from demanding to know who voted for him afterward.ZaDR - Homecoming Part 25 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
The day of the dance came. Since they were candidates, they had to go to all of the events before the actual dance, such as the pep rally, basketball, and football games. Though they weren't interested in sports, they agreed anyway. They didn't have much choice, and besides, the pep rally might be fun. It was where the king and queen would be crowned.
"Or king and king," Zim reminded Dib as they walked to the gym. They were already wearing their semi-formal clothes, having changed right after their last class.

The day starts with Zim walking to skool and its Halloween.
Today is Halloween and it seems Zim isn't a fan of it because 3 years ago we had a bit of a spooky day with all that spooky creatures coming out of my head and Zim was in it too because i dragged him in with me. I gave up my life, i gave up everything, i stopped being a paranoraml investigator...My emotions changed but now its all good. I'm off to the halloween dance at skool and I seem to be dressed as a scientist.
Ugh, today's that dumb human holiday. Everyone is dressed up, even the Almighty ZIM! I walked and I bumped into The Dib."Watch where your going...Zim? Why are you wearing a girl coustume?"Dib-thing asked."Isn't it the filthy Human Holiday to dress up Dib-Stink?" I asked him.
Dib: Zim it is Halloween but at least dress in a male costume, people are going to make fun of you *rolls eyes*
Zim: Nuh Uh stoopid humyan!*Zim turned around his maid costume staying the same *Isn't that the whole part?
ZADR - Best Years of Our Lives prt. 1 .FAILED.It was the first day of highskool. The students were in the halls, conversing with friends they hadn't seen all summer. There were groups of girls hugging and giggling about their summer flings, and boys punching eachother's shoulders or ruffling eachother's hair in greeting. Their lives were perfectly normal.ZADR - Best Years of Our Lives prt. 1 .FAILED.3 years ago in Romance More Like This
A kid with strange green skin and black hair walked down the hall for the first time since last year. He was wearing the same red shirt, black pants, boots, and gloves he's worn since the fifth grade. He was a junior in highskool, and most of the students knew him well, for they had all gone to the same elementary skool, as well as the same junior high. However, the person who knew him better than anyone was his worst enemy.
"Dib," sneered the boy, stopping at his locker. A few lockers away was another boy, also a junior. He had spikey black hair, pale skin, and glasses that covered his baggy, sleepless eyes. He was dressed in a long, black trench coat, black pants and boots, and
Not Real -ZaDr-1The sun was too hot as per usual in the nameless little town, the grass dry and nearly brown, leaves long dead floating across the ground as if reluctant to touch it fully and yet the wind just kept carrying it along until it got stuck on some long forgotten piece of gum or crushed underfoot of one useless bumbling teenager or another. Not Real -ZaDr-14 years ago in Romance More Like This
Dib was almost content sitting in the heated afternoon or at least that what he resolutely told himself. With his girl friend leaning on his chest, hands around her waist and sipping on poop cola, he was feeling almost complete. Almost like he could lose himself in the normalcy of it all and forget for a little bit that his life was all but falling apart at the seams now.
Key word; almost. Because even as Gretchen blabbered about something meaningless and normal, he felt it. The shivery sensation of being watched. Of big, false eyes that probed the edges of this monotone dream that was too good to be true.
They were following his every move, silently moc

"Jerks..." muttered the teenage boy from his hiding spot inside the boys' bathroom stall. He had been stuffed into a locker- AGAIN!- and had to be let out by a teacher after at least two hours of slamming on the door and waiting for somebody to hear him. To make matters worse, he had been yelled at almost immediately afterwards for missing class. A fairly typical day for him, though annoying nonetheless. Things like this had started happening to him on a daily basis ever since he had first entered high school, and the rumor going around that he was gay did not help matters at all. So he found himself once again hiding out in the bathroom, his preferred eating spot during lunch time. Nobody would bother him while he was in there. Well...at least, nobody human.
He snapped his head up from his food when he heard the bathroom door opening and quickly pulled his feet up onto the toilet seat until whoever had entered, left. That's when he heard an all too familiar voice.

As Dib stood outside of his home, he couldn't help the overwhelming loneliness that washed over him. After the neighbours reaction, he highly doubted anyone would take him seriously. Not like they had taken him seriously before anyway.
On top of the extreme aloneness, the boy was feeling a massive amount of paranoia. His house had proven to be just as dangerous a place to be now, and after seeing how easily and quickly Zim could infiltrate it, he realized he would never feel at peace inside of it. He would always be looking around himself, checking to make sure he was truly alone.
Dib took only small, slow steps towards the house now, his eyes flicking everywhere as he scanned for any threats. He was quite jumpy now though, so when a small leaf flew by him he jumped backwards a step and let out a high pitched scream. He began to breathe rapidly until realizing it was just a leaf before taking a deep breath and staring forward again, his eyes continuing to scan his environm

Dib was hiding around the school corner, spying on him, wondering what his next evil plan was. He stared at the alien, at his green skin. "Yeah, yeah." Red interrupted, giving the smaller Irken a bored look. "We actually want to tell you something, Zim."
"Oh! Sure! Right! What is it, sirs?"
"You're not really on a mission. We just wanted you gone." Purple nodded with a mouthful of doughnut. Zim gave them a blank look, then chuckled nervously. "Hehe, good one, My Tallests.....I almost believed you for a second there."
"We're not joking with you. I'm serious." Red replied, glaring at him. Zim's eyes widened. "Y-You can't be serious! You just.....can't! I'm here on a mission for the Irken Armada!"
"No, you're not! We just sent you away because you're irritating."

It was a rather nice day. The sun was shining, birds were singing, people smiled and waved at each other.
From a rather strange, green house on a round-about street, a voice growled, " I hate cheerful days like this!"
Inside the house, Irken Invader Zim jerked the blinds of a window closed adn walked to a small couch. GIR, his dog-suited dysfunctional SIR unit, shoved a whole taco in his mouth and laughed insanely.
"I mean, look at those filthy humans!" Zim continued, ignoring the psychotic robot. "Happily prancing about, enjoying their pathetic lives! This planet's just begging to be destroyed!"
"Yay! I love destruction!" GIR screamed, throwing a taco in the air. The food landed on Zim's head with a splat and the Irken screamed as the ground meat burned his skin.

In the beginning... there was NOTHING. But then one day, the great creator Jhonen Vasquez picked up a pencil and drew a little alien on a piece of paper. "I shall call him ZIM!" he proclaimed.
The creation known as Zim was an odd little thing. Jhonen didn't know where in those brainmeats of his he got the alien from, but after staring at the alien for a few hours, He decided, "Zim needs a nemesis!" Thus, Dib was born along with a myriad of supporting characters.
And so it was that Jhonen created the OTP that was Zim and Dib (though he didn't know it at the time). One was an invader, a conqueror of worlds! The other was a protector, guardian of one world... Earth. When the two met

Zim and Dib were sitting on Dib's couch, watching a show on cats, because nothing was on at 3:00. They wanted to see how late they could stay up.
"It's weird how people still don't know why cats or even how they purr. And the fact that cats purr." Dib pointed out.
"Ha, I don't think it's weird. I purr. I have an organ in my chest that makes me purr." Zim said.
"You purr?" Dib asked, completely shocked. "I've known you 6 years, and I never knew that!"
"Heh, silly human. I don't show you everything I can do. I know you still think about cutting me open, so I kinda don't trust you." Zim smirked as he looked at Dib, he looked shocked and sad.

Zim and Dib were sitting on Dib's couch, as Zim played Destroy All Humans. Dib watched, giggling from a thought he just had.
"What?" Zim asked. Glancing at Dib who sat at the other end.
"Oh, I was just thinking how you would try and take over the world. Really, a lot of your ideas would have worked. Even some of them that weren't even plans to take over the world."
"Hm? Like what ones?" Zim turned his head to look at Dib, and Dib glanced at Zim, but turned his head back to the screen. So, Zim did the same.
"Well, like when stole all the organs from kids in school, and when you stole money from people around town." Dib shrugged, "If you kept at it, everyone would have gotten sick or would have died. With the money thing, people would have no money for food, so everyone would starve."
"Heh, if only my mission was not a lie, I would have let you help me take over the world." Zim laughed and so did Dib.

Dib scowled and looked away.
Zim prodded Dib in the shoulder, not enjoying being ignored. "Hey! Oi! Zim is talking, you pitiful being!"
Dib pushed him away. "Get lost! Not in the mood to deal with you right now, Zim."
A couple feet away, a few kids stopped, their eyes trained on the two.
Zim folded his arms across his chest, annoyed. "And Zim is not in the mood to leave."
Dib sighed. "Go away."
" Alien scum."
Dib scowled again, straightening himself out. "Give it up, Zim! Can't you just give it a rest?!"
"Zim won't rest until the Dib is silenced!"
"Fine. Go away, and we'll all end up happy."
Zim frowned. "But then what do I do?"
"Ugh, I don't know! Just go pester someone else!"

"And so, kids, the universe will eventually implode on itself."
I ignored my creepy Earth teacher's lecture of doom. After all, with my superior information gathering skills, this filthy planet would be under Irken control long before this... implosion.
Said creepy teacher sighed, shaking me from my thoughts, "Yes, Dib?"
"Didn't you discuss this before?"
I growled savagely. Stupid Dib-worm! The only sane pig-monkey on this crazy planet was the only thing standing in the way of my plan-
My growl turned into a rather violent coughing fit and I flinched as each cough tore through my throat. By the time it was over, I was gasping for breath.
"Zim, if you're going to cough up your lungs, do it quietly!" Ms. Bitters snapped.
"Yes, Ms. Bitters." I rasped. My throat was surprisingly raw. Strange.
The bell rang and Ms. Bitters hissed darkly. "Enjoy your doomed lives. You'll be back here tomorrow or you'll all fail."
Finally, I could go home and work on my latest evil plan!

"Goddammit, Dib, don't just fucking stand there!" Dib was shoved roughly out of the way by his sister, the woman kneeling on the floor where Zim seemed to currently be in the throes of a seizure. It was terrifying, even more so because Dib simply didn't know what to do. The former soldier made awful gasping noises as he fought to breathe, his PAK making an odd whirring sound, like a computer that couldn't quite start up again.
Gaz was holding her hands beneath the former soldier's head, leaning over him and actually attempting to coo, her voice so soft and soothing that Dib was having a hard time believing it was actually Gaz saying it. It felt like he had just walked in on something terribly intimate, something no one was ever supposed to see. Zim continued to thrash on the floor, and then finally Dib moved, peeling off his jacket and wadding it up into a ball to help cushion the alien's head, protecting it from the hard floor.
Almost as quickly as it began, the fit ended. Z

"What is it now, Zim?" Mrs. Bitters questioned. The distaste in her voice was apparent as she spat out the comment like a poison. Zim could hear the whispers of his classmates, their poor, unintelligent, human brains trying to explain Zim's odd behavior.
"I am NORMAL!" he shrieked and ran from the room. His classmates took a moment before accepting his humanity and returning to their lesson. Dib raised his hand.
"Mrs. Bitters, I need to go to the bathroom."
