Some more in progress shots of the sculpture. Starting to refine the head and detail it. This is always the tricky part for me. To refine and finish the surface while trying to retain the anatomy and forms.

Spent more time locking in the forms of the face and starting to give him some hair. About two days working time and I am having fun and like how it is coming along.

Freddy Krueger stretching head sculpture I made for the film Wes Craven's New Nightmare. Never was able to get a decent photo...image quality is poor because it comes from a film lobby card.

Another while in progress shot. Starting to lock in the look a bit more. I am happy with the direction of the sculpture so far. Hope to do more work on him soon.

Just an update on this. This is not going to be the color of the final piece. I coated the sculpture with a few layers of latex. I tinted the latex green so it would match the color of clay as to not be distracting. I am starting to add the goose pimples and give it some more stretch lines and other details. I like all this experimenting with different materials. I think for the look I am after...this approach will add a more realistic quality. Once I get it more finished I will sear some of the areas with a burner. I will mold the sculpture in plaster and either pour it up in silicone or gelatin. The final color will be a BBQ chicken look.
