A Horrible Love SongWhatever happened to us?A Horrible Love Song2 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
I thought that it was love at first sight,
I guess it was a lie,
Like all those ones you told me before,
Although I swallowed them whole,
Like sleeping pills,
To a happy land,
Where we smiled and held hands,
And I was happy with you.
Whatever happened to the times we spent together?
Did they mean nothing to you at all?
I thought what we had was special,
But apparently not,
You tore out my heart,
With your harsh words,
And now I'm alone.
Do you remember when we came here,
For the first time,
On a snowy night,
In the middle of Winter,
We had a cup of tea,
Instead of coffee,
And read our books in the booth,
In the corner of the cafe.
But do you remember when,
We ran into the Autumn leaves,
Sang songs beneath the willow trees,
And laughed along to old love songs,
From long ago,
Before our time,
When things were only black and white,
Just me and you.
I miss the days that we hung out,
Just sitting in the Summer sun,
Soaking up the golden rays,
While we closed our eye

His arms were draped around him, holding him close, so close he could smell the scent of raspberry from his shower gel on his pale skin. He traced his fingers along his chest, around his nipples, curling his chest hair beneath his fingertips. He could see his eyes moving beneath his closed lids, his lashes brushing his lightly blushing cheeks. Dan reached up to trace his index finger along Phil's bottom lip, parting them as his hot breath brushed Dan's forehead.
Dan felt his lips move under his fingertips as Phil murmured groggily, "What are you doing Dan?"
"Nothing," came his soft reply and he reached up in the other's embrace to kiss him, a gentle smile tugging at his lips as Phil kissed him back.
"What was that for?" Phil asked and Dan shrugged, wrapping his arms around Phil's waist as he replied, "I wanted to."
"Good enough for me," Phil smiled and kissed Dan's forehead, snuggling closer as he sighed, "Shall we stay in bed a little longer?"
Dan nodded and closed his eyes as he murm

Closing the door and stripping of his coat and shoes, Phil wandered into his bedroom and collapsed upon his bed, eyes closed as he groaned. He had gone out for a drink and instead saved a life.
A smile tugged at his lips, but only slightly; he had saved a life, given the unfortunate woman another chance.
And yet he had changed her into this... into this...
He furrowed his brows and buried his head into his duvet. He tried to remember her joyful face upon realizing she would be able to grow up with her baby girl; that her child would still have her mother and she in turn would still have her baby.
Phil remembered feeling that way when he was dying; being scared of never seeing anyone he loved ever again. Mainly Dan and that had somewhat shocked him. Through thoughts of his family and friends, Dan had come to mind first and had been what he blurted out to the mysterious vampire who had changed him.
Looking up, his blue eyes met brown and held as the tanned male stood sti

"Always," he murmured against her sweet lips that tasted like sugar and he drew her closer as she smiled against his kiss.
Pulling her close, he wrapped her up in his strong arms and placed his lips upon hers as she breathed a contented sigh. Her eyes fluttered shut, her long lashes brushing her rose dusted cheeks and he captured her mouth with a gentle kiss filled with love.
She moved closer, their bodies fitting together like pieces of a jigsaw. She slipped her arms around his middle and pulled him closer still. The bed sheets shifted on their bare skin and their lips parted, air filling their lungs again.
Resting their foreheads together, he sighed happily and she traced circles on his lower back as she whispered, "I love you."
He did not skip a beat as his heart flipped in his chest and he whispered truthfully, "I love you too," and kissed

Her hair was scruffy, curls limp and lifeless, hanging down to her shoulders which were covered with a striped, dirt ridden shirt, an equally filthy pinafore worn over that. Her skirt was dark, her stockings black and blending into her black shoes with scuffed silver buckles.
Walking through the murky streets of London, her outfit kept her unnoticed as she blended into the surroundings, becoming lost in the fog of factories. The sun shone through dimly and illuminated her sickly white skin, her green eyes looking up with wonder at the sudden light that quickly faded again.
Her heels clicked upon the cobblestones and men glanced at her with loud whispers, wondering if she was another poor soul willing to please them for money while others looked to her and recognized her as the mad child who killed her family in a fire. She despised them all and kept her eyes away from their stares.
A soft meow and she looked to the side where a thin, white cat with a dirty coat licked its paw and hit i

I think I am beginning to run out of words to describe how I feel... shame really. Even my thoughts are beginning to die. There used to be so many of them running around inside my mind but now... silence. Well, not entirely. But mostly they have just... stopped. Stopped running. Flying. Whatever it is that they did. They have just stopped moving altogether. Maybe my thoughts are tired. Tired of themselves. They are all the same anyway. I bet they are sick of each other and their constant whining and moaning. I know I am.
The problem is that I am tired. But it is not just the physical type of tired. I am tired. Just tired. And to be honest, I am not sure what I am tired of. Myself maybe. Or my thoughts. Or life. Or things. I have yet to work it out.
My head hurts. How unfortunate on my part.
I feel numb. How empty.

It's raining today.
I can hear the slosh of water on car wheels outside my window; see the racing droplets on the glass that shields me from the cold outside.
Although it's Autumn it feels more like Winter, but I suppose that's just because it's typical British weather.
Not that I mind too much.
I shift my weight to make sure my legs don't die beneath me; I'm sitting on my bed, gazing out at the wet street. Someone walks by with a rather dull umbrella and I wish I owned an umbrella painted like a rainbow.
Another car drives by and disturbs the puddles in the road, the reflections now distorted until the water settles once more.
I always find it odd how when it rains, the sky is a pure white tinted with light grey where the clouds have created a blanket in the sky. It makes me wonder if I reached out and parted some of the clouds, if I would see the blue sky still, or if more white would appear.
I guess I'll never know.
My thumb is rubbing the smooth curve of my mug that rests between m

Dan was up way past the usual bedtime of the rest of Britain, estimating that he was now in the time zone for New York as he clicked and dragged another video clip into place and began adding the special effects. He would try and come up with something to tweet about how this video was the next coming of Jesus or something equally ridiculous. His sleep deprived brain could not think of anything at the moment as he added a flying Nyan cat to soar past his screen.
As his eyes began to droop and his fingers fumbled with the mouse, he felt slender arms wrap around his shoulders and draw him back, his head now resting against a shoulder as ebony hair tickled his cheek. He relaxed into the embrace as he murmured, "Hey Phil."
He dragged another clip into place, edited out the part where he mucked up his words and listened to the steady rhythm of Phil's breath that barely brushed against his cheek. His chin was resting on Dan's shoulder, his eyes watching the screen as Dan continued to edit an

"I suppose... I suppose my perfect date would be a movie, popcorn and a cup of tea," she said at last. He waited for her to say more.
She sighed, "Maybe lying in a field beneath the stars at midnight, or listening to old music on a record player," she closed her eyes.
"Dancing beneath fairylights or maybe cuddling and reading a book," her lips were pulling up into a smile.
"That sounds like the perfect date," he said as her eyes opened and gazed at him. She laughed, shaking her head and his smile was warm.
"Will you go out with me, on a date?" he asked and she looked at him like he was mad but he could see the delight in her eyes.
Pursing her lips and finally smiling, she replied, "Yes, I will," and he took her hand in his as she laughed.

The sky was filled with grey wisps of dark clouds, the air crisp as it caressed her pale skin. She swayed in the breeze, her fingers cold as she watched the leaves beneath her feet, their colours golden and burnt red, touching brown and a light orange. They were broken by her steps and piled high over the muddy ground.
Her hair whipped around her face, catching on her parted lips that were a faint shade of pink. She did not reach up to remove the caught hairs, but left them to do as they pleased. Her hat was beginning to slip from her head although she did not adjust it back over her ears.
Dirt was smeared over her cream colour coat where she had tripped and a speck of blood was evident on her knee where she had scrapped her skin and broken her jeans from the fall. The tear marks down her cheeks were more prominent now in the cold as they turned to ice.
The branch creaked in the wind as spare leaves rustled on the trees, the rope straining slightly as she swayed in the breeze. Her last

His caress was gentle, his long fingers gently brushing his tanned hipbone and up his side to bump along his ribs. Dan sighed contently, eyes fluttering closed as he arched up into Phil's touch. He could feel Phil lean down and shivered as he felt his cool breath against his chest, a soft kiss planted on his breast above his heart.
"Dan," he murmured and the others eyes fluttered open to gaze at him through his dark lashes. Phil leaned back, sitting up again, and Dan whimpered at the loss.
His gaze was serious, nervousness hidden in their blue depths and Dan propped himself up on his elbows. The cushion behind his back on the sofa prodded at his back and kept his shirt ridden up and Phil's fingers were still spread out over his side, thumping lightly at his ribs.
"Phil?" he inquired, cocking an eyebrow as his friend shifted his eyes away from Dan and then back again, his brow knitting together as he bit his lower lip. He was silent a moment longer before he spoke, his voice calm and cl

"It's far too early to start getting excited for Christmas." Dan frowned, "It's only December 1st."
Phil ignored him and continued to put up the decorations around their flat, listening to the Michael Bublé Christmas album - the one he listened to every Christmas. It was his favourite.
"Seriously, we can put the decorations up later. It's far too early for Christmas now." Dan groaned, watching as Phil stood on his tiptoes to put the fairy lights around the window.
"You're my boyfriend. You're meant to be supporting me!" He laughed a little.
Dan rolled his eyes and stood up off the sofa, wrapping his arms around Phil's waist from behind and tucking the tips of his fingers into the waistband of his jeans. "I am supporting you. It's just too early for Christmas." He laughed quietly and kissed Phil's neck gently.
Phil blushed and tilted his head to one side, "It's not too early for Christmas."

"Run away with me," Peter whispered, taking her hand and drawing her closer, "Stay in Neverland with me Wendy."
Biting her lip she considered it; would it be so bad to stay a child with Peter? Did she not want to grow up at all? She could be a mother to the Lost Boys and she could be happy with Peter, forever.
But still she shook her head.
His face fell and her voice was soft as she gently whispered, "I can't Peter. I can't be a child forever. One day I'll have to grow up."
Raising his eyes to meet hers, he squeezed her hand before letting go and he stood back. He studied her a moment longer before nodding, his lips pulling up into a sad smile as he said, "I understand Wendy."
"No you don't," she replied and he laughed, shaking his head.
"You're right," he sighed but he smiled his usual cheeky grin as he leaned closer as he said, "But remember Wendy, if you ever miss me, second star to the right and straight on 'til morning!"

No matter how hard Dan tried to convince himself otherwise, it wasn't Christmas without Phil. He'd done his best to make it seem like Christmas but he needed Phil to make it magical. He'd put the tree up and decorated it in a similar way to how Phil usually did, smothering it with tinsel and unlit fairy lights until the branches were no longer visible; it looked like a giant, technicolour pyramid in the corner of the living room. That tattered paper chain Phil had spent weeks making a few years back had been salvaged from the bottom of a dusty old box and draped around the walls, bringing even just a tiny essence of Phil back to the flat. The only things left under the tree were Phil's present to Dan which he had left behind and a tiny black box, barely visible against the dar
