Unnatural Decay Under a Strange ChurchThere's a white shelled transvestite ladybug crawling across the word "Underwear" on a Craigslist browsing computer screen in the public library.
Then it flew away into a bee's nest in the attic. Here is your epitaph: nettle tincture honey is a sweat curse and friendly lies are a pained dessert. Pretend that bee sting poison is an opium syringe, ladybug.
But the scarlet letter was her bloody joke when a gay social assassin posed as rogue busy bee named Ahab, crouched about to shatter a burgundy shelled secret like a harpoon through a stained glass window.
Across the library St. Asmodeus felt a chilled dagger through his lead filled heart when passing kids threw an iced snowball through the church's window. The summer before, a night creeping praying mantis had broken in and died. Now the glass fell with wet snow and crushed the dead mantis who had stood erect with patient lifelessness until then.
Then the raw moon beams shone down to melt the unnatural metal into a wood encased pool on
Monologue of a traveller.Monologue of a traveller.1 year ago in Free Verse More Like This
A shadow lingered on the shattered walls,
swaying in the light of the crescent.
He claimed to having answered destiny's calls,
so he gave life to places long quiescent.
But gods had been merciless to his young age;
throughout the traveller's endless route
they had made apparent their growing rage;
hidden dangers appeared from the bruit.
He held onto sanity's smallest grain
fingers slipping through invisible ropes.
Broken symbols are all that remain
after the illusion of cruely stolen hopes.
His conscious is now much too frail,
and his words are now much too sinuous.
His impregnable diligence to no avail,
and his frenzied monologue continues.

The first day he sat alone, hands fidgeting on his lap nervously. He wouldn't talk, just stare, stare through his mahogany orbs. His lips, set on a hard line, would twitch every now and then and he would speak his mind quietly, hesitantly, as if afraid that his words would be judged. I felt pity for him, but wasn't sure why.
The second day, he sat alone but closer, close enough for me to feel the warmth radiating off his body. He held that black pen and his thumb would press on its tip nervously, producing a 'tap-tap' sound that made me clench my teeth in frustration. I regretted the action, but wasn't sure why.
The third day he spoke as he looked at his book, still hesitantly but more confidently. 'Hey,' he murmured, soft and reassuring. A ghost of a smile curved itself on his lips, barely revealing a set of dimples on his recently-shaved cheeks. I smiled back, but wasn't sure why.
The fourth day, he talked of stories and miracles, and of places where

No idea where my loyalties lie;
I've been outcast by the people I knew:
I can't find anyone who will stand true.
I fought beside them for so long
I don't know where I went wrong
Now I'm left here alone
Never have I been so far from home.
Walking by myself in the dark
My soul is tearing apart.
Feeling longing for what I lack
But I know I can never go back
Even as the darkness closes in,
This is where I'm supposed to begin
I cannot live, yet I will not die
For I'm divided against a blackened Sky.

Who would've thought all this could be mine?
So long had I dreamed, of these days to come
These things that don't happen, they happen to some
So I favored the chance of impossible things
Of which the wind whispers, of which the birds sing
Far off in the distance, I could see it shine
I only wished that it could be mine
Deep down inside me, I must hesitate
So often I miss it, so often too late
But I couldn't resist it, could not stay away
To reach greatest heights, you must seize the day
So fast I ran towards it, so eager to see
That light that enchanted and beguiled me
I could almost touch it, hold it in my hand
So faster and faster and faster I ran
And as I drew closer, my euphoria grew
It had to be mine, and this I knew!
So quick had I seen it, so quick did it die
Leaving me broken, in ashes to lie
That dream that I lived in, a beautiful place
Now leaves me hollow and fallen from grace
But only from ashes does a phoenix arise
I must raise my he

Life in blossom, firefly.
A smile once appears in me,
In rainbow palette,
With a wondered look,

Happiness, a burst of sweetness, joy.

The girl picked up her palette
And retrieved her brush
Before watching closely
She saw her creatures gather
But without communication
She splashed a shiny brown
Onto her canvas
With small pieces of black
She added fine lines for string
And gaping holes for pipes
The girl carefully painted
Something on their faces
For sound to come from
With a delighted laugh
She created letters
And painted them into her books
And upon the minds of her people
She gave her creatures voice
With each careful stroke
And tentative creation
And hummed song
She painted whispering gossip
Under hushed and shadowed
Walls and blankets
The girl shaded in halls
With red acoustics
For her people to gather
The girl drew her people
Singing and dancing
Next to warm fires
As she laughed at her people
As each graceful hand pressed a chord
Or barreling foot pressed to the ground
The girl knew she did something right
When she painted the earth
But there was still someth

Frightfully dead eyes devoid of life
On a dreamship I tried to embark
Who would have known she wished to strife?
For the chance to be alive she said
That we battled it out till morn
A trade, she to be alive and I to be dead
But this deal, I mocked it with scorn
I fought with fluid accuracy
And she with jerky desperation
A pathetic thing, she did not wound me
While to hell I gave her quick transportation
I flopped back onto my bed
And sighed with casual relief
A pounding, pouding in my head
I gasped with utter disbelief
Demonic, satanic, a damned soul
For she possessed my mind and body
A trade indeed, for she had reached her goal
To rid myself, completely, of me

Frozen grip takes hold
Dead eyes look, the end is near
Kiss of ice, last breath.
Meadow alive golden glow
ocean drama out in bay
Night at opera
Expressly to see Phantom
He eluded me.
Yew tree in graveyard
Dominating the landscape
Where we carved our names.
He looked and kissed me
Rocketed into orbit
Falling back to earth.
Star fell this dark night
Angel surrounded by light
Morning dew delights.
Smoke rings airbourne
Expresso and newspapers
Friendly Grands-pères gossip.
Heart burned by desire.
Caustic love caustic.
Translucent phantom descent
Enormous talons brush hair
Opaque eyes, no mercy.
Sepulcher high on cliff face
Gloomy tomb from past
Smell of dust and artifacts
Attracts inquisitive minds.
Soft, harmless and beautiful

Beyond a cage of flames and frogs

Humming stories to be told
Sing not to me a coward's tale
With sparkling eyes and living breath
Leave a heart like mine to steal
And let a silent message hold
Shield those eyes with ruby gems
Seek not for what is mine to steal
For in the night I'll surely give

And sleep compels me to retreat
I grin upon the thought of my blanket's sweet embrace
As I slay the dim candle I earlier lit
Shortly, I am severed from all
To see light once more
And then I spot her, grinning widely,
Composing giggles of four
She invites me in her welcoming home,
Her hands, opened wide toward me
She tells me how fun it is inside,
She tells me it's something I'd love to see
I grin in anticipation,
And lift my hands to reach her
I think of all the wonders I'd see
Stretching my arms further
Then suddenly we are afar in countless kilometers
When we were only a foot away
And her form slowly fades into darkness
With no goodbye to say
Once again, she abandons me
Behind the cold iron bars, she leaves me
She dwells in dreams,
While I am chained to harsh reality

I will come back when it's over,
When tides recede, revealing
Footprints melted into sand,
Glistening white from rays of blue.
I long for the shine of shadow.
We must part ways,
Walk back toward houses
Where light bulbs flicker with guilt,
And sinks drip with secrets.
Lonely and quiet emptiness
Creates a home of memory.
I will come back when it's over,
The noises of splashes and screams quiet,
The sun's arrogance descended over the horizon.
I will return in silence and black,
Lulling waves to sleep, at last.
Together, we can be.

Close your eyes and do not speak for I will help you overcome the weak. Let's not spill more blood, shall we? We'll try keeping it clean.
