Omnipresence At The Train YardsOmnipresence at the Train Yards
The light from the Sun drapes my skin in warmth,
Yet the still, cold air is enough to remind me that
Monsters hide in the open when they know simple
Boys won't walk with ease into empty stone vaults.
Untold were the many years this earth stood witness
To none but residual remorse of a vagrant lantern.
The scene above is not the same as in my memory.
I had once stolen a glance to the sky to tell myself
That greater good lay atop the tower, but its shape
Is nowhere found in outskirts of this human outpost.
The signs of heavenly vestige now muted in shade:
Everything that was once blue has been bleached
Into the sickly white complex of bereavement.
The color has faded from the grass and trees
To leave behind ghostly echoes of a planet
That retained relics of a rich history.
I know that I left my body behind when tired eyes
First caught glimpse of the infernal glow beyond the doors.
In my heart I could hear that red din urging me to turn back,

This cancerous shard has long kept close to the hilt.
Unsure if the burial ground of old was disturbed
By the ruthless tread of mercurial, persistent trespassers,
We march onward toward the sea in search of progress.
Thoughts that the surgeon had sought to remove the weight,
With the sharp hands and gentle touch of an unearthed stream,
Soon gave way to an understatement of what soon will come.
This world-weary shrapnel now dilutes our tranquil spring,
A sanctuary which given little respite would grasp no flood.
It was an accursed heirloom long since forgotten in panacea wake,
The water held still in the silent reproach of an encroaching storm.
The scalpel he wields was prone to error once kept lively in his hands.
In its design all my faults are now sought ready in reverse.
In his grip every fear kept steady now the long, black arms
Move the pieces across the board in a frantic pace away from the sun:
A meaningless game with not one rule

Sleep Little ChildrenA scared little girl confined to her bed, as sirens ring chillingly through her head.Sleep Little Children3 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
Deep, unfamiliar voices fill the halls, as strangers carry her grandfather down tall stairs.
She can't stop shaking for fear of what might be, "He was fine, he was okay. He said goodnight to me."
Unable to sleep, but has so much to do, she tries and she tries but she just lies there like a fool.
A toy pink bunny held tight in her grip, holding for company that she is too scared to get.
She lies alone in a room so dark, as the sirens fade into the night.
Sleep little children in ignorant bliss, and do not awake to nightmare like this.

The pain could be locked away
Hidden in a black chest
Where you can't reach it
Suffering is what gets us down
Yet you cry and cannot shed tears
Otherwise you would drown in them
Once you saw an Angel
His wings yet so strong
He could protect thee
Silently watching over
Once this Angel fell
No protection, you are alone
Wings black and broken
Who would save the Angel?
Have you ever felt the rage
Fill your heart, lead thoughts
Revenge you want, nothing more
For the wounds you have got
Yet they will deny your anger
Yet they tell you to calm down
So you turn back, swallow your hate
Where it burns your lungs, your heart
Once you were crying outloud
As people rejected and ignored
Of course you were so hurt
Crying was the only solution
Yet you are told not to cry
It makes you look such a whiner
Emos and sad people aren't needed
That's what they say
You were jealous at times
When someone got a better grades
Or told how nice and easy life is

Think of You
Cut the deck
Bring forth last two
Three two Three
Eight cards lye still
Enough to kill
Flip the first
Your emotions show
You feel perfect;
Now I know
The second turns
There's how I feel
Unsure how to deal
The third face up
Your thoughts are deep
The forth; my thoughts
A jumbled heap.
The fifth; your actions
As you perceive
You do unto me
As you hope to receive
The sixth; the same
From a different eye
I see all perfection;
In my eyes; you fly.
The seventh turns
Showing how we agree
We don't see an obstacle
Between you and me
The final is turned
A queen full of grace
A sword in her hand
And grief on her face
The queen of swords
Bearing all sorrow
Assuring me Misery
Dawns with Tomorrow.

I lay awake thinking of you
And how the gentle curve of your upper lip
Becomes more and more beautiful
Every time you smile
And I thought of how this summer night
Already unbearably hot
Would become infinitely warmer
If you were on the other side
Of this lonely bed
And I imagined that the sheets
Tangled around your ankles
Would mirror your hair
Tangled around your sleeping face
At 2:00 in the morning
