The Silver Cat Fooled YouThe Silver Cat Fooled You3 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
I'll have you know I'm a cat that'll last a Millenium,
I'll have lot's of time to waste in this vast land,
So I shall tell you now, I can do many things,
I'll serve you faithfully for your entire life,
I'll make your dreams last for a long time,
So let me sing you a forever on-going lullaby,
You'll plummet into the deepest and longest of dreams,
You'll never wish to wake from your ever-lasting sleep,
Until you realize.
That I was a mere illusion.
That the Silver cat fooled you.
The ArtistThere is a crack in the door,The Artist4 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
A fissure in the musty wall,
A break in the monotonous white.
The eyes of the night stare in,
Dilated pupils stretched into slits,
Looking for a soul to collect.
I am the artist,
A tangle of hair tied into a knot,
Bent over an old desk.
There is a light in the corner,
A broken spectrum,
Blanketed by matted spider webs.
They watch me as my hand moves,
Painting the world in word,
Cracked lips deprived of moisture.
My eyes have become the night,
Opening and closing to the world,
Only seeing a story.
It is unfolding,
Building like the new highway upstate,
Unfurling like a new blossom.
I am learning how to become,
Learning how to fly with the masses,
Learning how to use these broken wings.
They fold behind me and haunt me,
Follow me as I scrawl a story,
Never leading, just submissive to my movement.
I wish the night was blind,
Destroyed lenses like the camera,
Cracking to pieces in my white hands.
It sees me as I begin to fall into the world,
The beautiful drea
Curiosity Killed The CatThere was a girl who was rather small.Curiosity Killed The Cat3 years ago in Concrete Poetry More Like This
She never said much, In fact nothing at all.
She would sit by herself, all alone.
All alone, Alone with her box.
No one really knew the contents inside.
No one really knew what she had to hide.
Only she knew what we all wanted to know.
We wanted to know, Know what was inside the box.
She never seemed to let the box go.
Our curiosity seemed only to grow.
Till one gloomy day we stole it away.
We stole it away, Stole the box.
Only now was the time we began to hear.
Only now did it all seem to be clear.
That was the moment everyone knew.
Everyone knew, Knew what was inside the box.
We heard the loud beating of her heart.
We took it away and took her apart.
Slowly it stopped beating, It was painful to watch.
Painful to watch, Watch the girl who had her heart stop.
Our curiosity seemed only to grow.
Curiosity killed the cat you know.
An Angel's DemonI may be a demon,An Angel's Demon1 year ago in Concrete Poetry More Like This
I did come from hell,
I don't have a soul,
I have horror stories to tell.
In a world of darkness,
I'm nothing but a shade,
A shadow that's stepped on,
My best friend is a blade.
I crawled out of hell,
With bleeding palms and knees,
Heartlessness in tacked,
Like a killer disease .
I am the demon of sorrow,
Of lost hope and joy,
The ruler of anger,
What I touch I destroy.
I met a fallen angel,
Something I didn't expect,
So soft and beautiful,
I didn't know we'd connect.
I'll never go to heaven,
Yet her lips took me there,
I couldn't look away,
Mesmerized by her stare.
Her smile so elegant,
With eyes of brilliant blue,
Brighter and deeper,
Than the sky's which she flew.
Her embrace alone,
Could heal all my wounds,
A laughter so musical,
I'd forget I was doomed.
I'm demonic at heart,
I can't be tamed,
Who would've dreamed,
It's my heart she claimed.
Ive never done good,
But it's her I'd protect,
I never knew I could love,
But now how can I forget.
I wish I could he
Somewhere Between the SpacesA girl sits, her face as blank as an unpainted canvas,Somewhere Between the Spaces10 months ago in Free Verse More Like This
Her forearms with words written in scars,
“Ugly”, “Worthless”, and finally,
Because somewhere between the spaces
Of broken times of the cold winter nights
And the days meant to be filled with
She was taught, somewhere, somehow,
To completely despise the girl
She was growing to become,
And more so the one she already
Though she felt the pain of
Sword fights and battles
Bashing on the sides of her mind,
She was sure to keep herself looking perfect,
So perhaps someone could love the
Ugliness, which she had written on her forehead
For the world to see.
She desired to belong to someone
Other than herself,
Because after all,
It is every little girl’s dream.
She was no more than ten years old,
When she first remembered the shame
From seeing her own body,
And of course, it will not be the
She would run home from class at the end of
We Only Live To DieThis is what we live for—these whispers on our lipsWe Only Live To Die1 year ago in Free Verse More Like This
The drying bits of blood on our paper-cut fingertips
Opening the letters that we left our future selves
A bittersweet reminder of those storybooks on the shelves
This is what we live for – this emotion in our souls
The torture and the bittersweet moments of lost control
Biting cracked lips with the dirt beneath our nails
These moments of imperfection as our trains of thought derail
This is what we live for – shutting doors and opening eyes
Smiling for a moment, before the tears reveal our lies
This is what we live for, this reality, this life…
This is what we live for,
As we only live
