If the birds soaring though in the tangerine sky looked directly below them, they would find me resting on the edge of a cliff with my feet dangling off the edge. They'd sing my lover and I a melody which neither of us understand, but enjoy none the less. Waves crash below us, but I promised to keep him safe. Nothing bad would happen as long as we were together. The summer breeze kisses my face while the last remaining rays of sunlight reach out to me, casting a soothing, golden glow. "Promise you won't let it hurt me?" The person sitting next to me asks, peering down at the ocean below with fear written across is face. My partner is very different from I, yet in an oddly captivating and beautiful way. His erratic behavior always keeps me on my toes, but maybe that's what I like about us. Everyday

I can't decide whether I want to kiss you or hit you right now. And I guess since you're sleeping, I'll just "rant" on paper. It seems to be the safest and more neutral way to go.
What we just did... I'm not sure you get how serious that was. If you think kissing and cuddling was something...
When Irkens mate, they give their soul to their partner. It's so rare that I've never met a couple. Well, I've never met a couple because none of the past Tallests would allow any true contact with one another. They've always feared the bond; it's been said that it's the strongest thing known in all the universes. Irkens don't love. And when they do...
I guess you humans weren't incorrect when you said that love always win. Nothing comes between the mated pair, and anything that even tries gets instantly annihilated. The two are invincible. As are we.
I still can't believe that we're Tallests. When you came to my door
ZaDr short story- Not So Cold Hearted Afterall"Shit, Zim. What the hell are you doing out there?" Dib questioned while standing in the doorway. Warmth radiated from the large blue house, but the icy fangs of the winter wind quickly killed it off for anyone outside the oven-like shelter. On the television there was footage of a cozy fire burning, except the professor had rigged it to actually give off heat. It was one of his many fantastic illusions, just like what had become of his 'presence'. "Damn, you must be freezing. Hurry up and get in here, numbskull." The quivering Irken nodded quickly and stepped out of the cold, still shaking even after the door was shut. Wet, muddy boots carelessly marked the floor, but with Zim's entire uniform was frosted with flakes and his lips already slightly blue, it was understandable that manners weren't his main concern. The tension between him and his human nemesis had died down a fair bit over the years, so it was no longer a death sentence to run to Dib's house for protection. Not that my Dad's craziness ever stops me and Gaz from having a great time! Sort of. I normally get Gaz a present of some sort and deliver it to her door. Then I run away before she comes out with MY present. I learned on year one of our tradition to never wait around for her to get to that door. I still have nightmares, sometimes.
This year Gaz went to her friend's house for Christmas Eve. (Yes, friend. It shocked me too.) And it's not like I want to stay around and listen to Dad's rambling about how truly evil the big jolly man really is all by myself. So I took off to Zim's.
Why did I pick Zim? Well, even though he hates me, he at least talks to me. And I think his dog-robot thing likes me. The combination of attention from an insulting green alien and a neurotic green dog thing would be WA

I have no idea why I'm writing this. It's not like I'm gonna show this to you or anything. I just… need to get this somewhere other than my (completely normal-sized) head. So… where to start? I guess from the beginning.
Did you know that I was waiting for you to come? Well, I heard who I now know is your Tallest talking about sending you here. Looking back, it's kinda ridiculous to have thought that you'd immediately land in our town. But you did. Freaky, huh? When I first saw you… You wouldn't know this, but I was starting to doubt myself. I figured that Gaz hacked my signal and planted the message. After so long without seeing anything different, I started to assume you didn't exist. I began to listen to what everyone was saying about me. I'm so glad you came when you did!
Seriously, how did nobody get that you're an alien?! Green skin, no nose, outdated-as-hell look! (That you did a pretty good job of updating, by the wa

"Dude!" Dib glared at Zim and backed away. "Zim, calm the fuck down already. You aren't alone you have me."
Zim hissed, turning around to face Dib, slamming him into the wall behind them of Zim's base. "THIS IS A HUGE FUCKING DEAL, DIB! MY MISSION WAS A LIE AND MY TALLEST NEVER LOVED ME BUT HATED ME! I'M A DEFECT! I'M STUPID, STUPID, STUPID!" Zim covered his face and slid to the ground by Dib's feet as he sat on his knees.
Dib frowned down at Zim, sadly. "Zim...I'm here for you. I'm your friend, I'm here for you forever and always." Dib got down on the floor with Zim, even though he was worried Zim would scratch his face up and tare his neck out.

I was terrified for a moment when I stepped into the tube. Zim could have been easily tricking me to destroy myself, but it’s been so long. Why would he try to kill me now? He tapped some codes into the touch screen thingy. It was all in irken so I had no idea what any of it said. Afterwards, he walked towards the other tube. He looked so worried. With his antenna whimpered to the back of his head, he was the very image of vulnerable. This was crazy. Why did he even want to be able to be human? Maybe it was for a better disguise. I honestly didn’t care much. I wanted to see if it would work. I wondered for a second on why he didn’t just steal a human if that’s all he needed. He hated asking for someone’s help so why not take someone against their will?
Just as all these question jumbled through my spinning head I glanced over at Zim. He was so pinned up in the tube. His shoulders were tightly pressed near his head in a clinch, almost as

Waking up with a headache was not one of the most pleasant things in the world. But it's possible because someone always has to find out the persons motives to proceed further. He's used it by now and now is not the time to be complaining. He groans into his pillow as he hand hits the annoying sound of his alarm clock ringing in his ears. He sat up slowly and stood up from his dark blue sheeted bed and looks at the mirror from across the room. His hair was a complete mess from last night, that horrible fight with his white bandages around his chest. The boy shudders at the thought, tracing an index finger across a long scar from the many fights that they both had dealt with.
Everything that they've done was just a complete waste of the humans time, though he doesn't realize it... yet. Noticing he hasn't placed on his glasses, a hand reaches over to grab it, closing his eyes and slowly places it on. He opens his hazel eyes slowly and frowns at the sight. Just as he saw bef

"Come on, Zim!" Dib called from the water. He waved at him. "The water's fine!"
Zim glared at him. "No, I hate Earth water! I didn't want to come to the beach anyway, but you talked me into bringing you here!"
He had used the Voot cruiser to fly them to the East Coast, going down almost to Florida in favor of warmer weather and larger waves. He had bathed in paste beforehand, but he didn't plan on going in the water.
Dib shrugged. "All right, your loss." He fixed his glasses, which were strapped tightly to his head with a band so the waves wouldn't knock them off. Then he swam back out.
Zim eventually sat down in the sand. He was still wearing a shirt and pants, though Dib had convinced him to wear swim trunks underneath, just in case. It was too hot to keep boots on; his legs were getting sweaty. He reached down to pull th

"Doom Doom Doom ."
It was a hideous duet of brain-rotting boredom that filled Mrs. Bitters' classroom, the song of another day of learning and drudgery. The sound of the clock moving its hands and of the teacher droning from her desk had enveloped the room for a good hour without interruption, and it appeared that it would continue that way.
No resistance was met to the typical, expected display, accompanied by the same dull eyes staring ahead at the blackboard, the same scraping of pencil lead against flat sheets of plant matter shavings, the same empty heads and hollow gazes and vain attempts at absorbing useless information -- all save for two people sitting in the front row, the only live ones among the pitiful lot.
Zim's false indigo orbs glanced suspiciously in the direction of the raven-haired youth positioned by the window, though the movement was slight and unnoticed by th

A strangled sob tore the alien out of his daydream. He glanced around to see who had made the intruding noise only to remember he was all alone now. He was the one crying.
His Irken equivalent of a heart thumped painfully in his chest. Reality turned his delicate white bouquet to a dreaded ash-colored black arrangement. Reality had been doing that a lot, these past two weeks. The faces had vanished along with the flowers, along with the lights along with his human.

“Get back here, you crazy alien!”
Zim was running from his enemy as per usual. His boots hit the ground hard and fast as his magenta eyes searched for an escape route.
You would think by now the two would have given up on chasing each other. Dib was in his early twenties and Zim had aged with him. Over the years the two had grown respect for each other but the chases still commenced.
Currently they were running through peaceful suburbs and back allies ignoring the parties in every home.
While everyone else with a social life celebrated St.Patrick’s Day, these two did what they did every day of the week.
Zim kicked over a trashcan as he turned the corner into a small court. Only a circle of houses blocked his way to his base, and the only way through would be through a crowded, party filled house.
“I’ve got you now, Zim. Why do you keep running? You know I’ll catch you in the end.” The black haired boy advanced on the little alien,

Dib was watching Zim, like always. He wasn't sure what Zim was working on, be he new it was something bad. Dib walked over to Zim, and hovered over behind him. "What are you making Zim?" Dib said harshly.
Zim turned around and put what ever he was working on behind his back "AAAH!!" Zim threw a small rock at Dib's head, it bounced off, not really doing anything to his large head.
Dib just glared at Zim. "That was pathetic Zim." Dib crossed his arms, in boredom.
"Whatever Dib-Stink!" Zim looked away blushing. 'He almost saw.' Zim thought to himself.
"Whats the matter Zim?" Dib said in a voice that sounded caring. "What are you making?" Dib said harsher, looking behind Zim.
"Nothing Dib! I can't show you!" Zim couched, "yet." He said quickly with a weak smirk.
"Yet? Zim, stop trying to kill me! It's not going to happen!" Dib new it was something to destroy him.

They were statues to the Empire, permanently in their salute. And Zim didn't dare move even a millimeter, wouldn't dream of doing so, not when it could bring shame to himself and his people.
The commanders and generals walked past them, an inspection. They hardly gave Zim a glance, almost missed him entirely for he hardly qualified to be a soldier, standing chest height with many of the others.
Cold eyes passed over him and then continued. He relaxed minutely. Another test passed. And there had been many up until then, leading to this great moment when the newest generation of smeets would graduate from the Academy and lead the rest of their lives above the surface of Irk or beyond the stars, exploring the universe.
When they called his name to 'officially' encode him with his duty, Zim almost missed it.

That's what Dib was telling himself as he crept along the cluttered ceiling atleast.
He let out a small yelp as one of the astray wires sparked a blue jolt of electricity and singed his skin. The robot below looked up at him with a smile on his face. "HI MARY!" he squealed in delight, waving his arm wildly, with as much force as to almost knocking himself off the couch. ZADR-- One Shot. AnniversaryIt was their 6 month anniversary. Zim had taken to learn about such things, and so he decided to take lead for this one, since Dib had celebrated the last two, respectively, at one month and at 3 months. "Where are we going?" Dib asked, curiosity plain on his face.
Zim growled under his breath. He had made reservations at this place, because apparently, it was popular and well-known for its good food. And for Dib, Zim wanted the best. ''..You'll see Dib-filth. Close your eyes.'' He told him; the insults having never really worn off. He halted in his pacing, waiting for Dib to do so. The other teen shrugged and closed his eyes, waiting for Zim to guide them to their destination. He wondered what the alien could possibly have in mind for their anniversary.
