What amazes me about the Street Photographs featured in this journal, is how they seem so alike in appearance, but at the same time, they are so vastly different in concept, theme and/or execution.
As we welcome another year of promoting Street, it gives me immense pleasure in presenting a selection of absolutely brilliant works that will make you stand back and really appreciate how these Artists, despite being worlds apart, still respond to and capture their environments in such a way that if you didn't know better, you'd be convinced that the images displayed below were taken by the same person.
I can't think of a better example that could so vividly illustrate that all human beings, despite our differences - be it cultural, religious, political, or whatever... are in

Not so long ago in 1963 my father took me...just me, to the sea.
He took me to the pier and the fish market at the very end.
We saw so many different types of dead fishies.
He told me of brave men going out to catch fish for us to eat.
And that some day we would go fishing together.
I was so proud that some day we would make this adventure together.
It was rare to have the attention of the father when you are in the middle of a family with six children.
My father spoke with the fish dealer. While he did, I looked down and saw scales and the old wet timbers of the pier. The smell of fish was so great, it permeated my very being.
"I'll take the smoked bontio" he said.
We walked back to the truck. He opened the wrapping paper and we ate the entire offering.
