The Doctor smiled. They had just saved a small village on Tallamonalo from some rampaging gnomes. Well Amy had anyway. They had tricked Rory into a cage, and the Doctor had been helping a little girl. They had trapped her in a cage as well, and to be perfectly honest she had been in no real immediate danger, but he just couldn't help himself. Her eyes were the same beautiful blue as Jenny's, and her blonde hair was short and wavy like Rose's had been. The Doctor didn't even realize he had been crying until he felt a hand on his shoulder.
"Doctor, what's wrong?" Amy made him face her. She had concern in her eyes. The Doctor never cried, not in front of the Ponds anyway.
"What? Nothing." He tried to walk off to the TARDIS but Amy blocked his path.
"Doctor, I'm not blind. You never cry in front of us. What's wrong?"
"Amy, honestly, it's nothing."

After preparing a small breakfast (which they ate quickly due to their eagerness to make sure Hogwarts was a reality) Amy and Rory ventured out from the TARDIS, which was sitting in the back corner of the Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher's office. The walls, thanks to Umbridge, were pink, and on the walls there were plates with painted moving kittens on them. It made Amy and Rory grimace. The Doctor wasn't there.
"Doctor?" Amy called out.
"Yes?" he called back.
Amy and Rory, still in their night clothes, left the office and peered over the landing into the classroom. The Doctor was standing by the desk with his back to them. As soon as he heard their shuffling footsteps, he turned around, and the wizard's cloak he was wearing swished around his ankles.
