I won't deny that I'm in love with my D800 and my 14-24mm lens. The purple light on the righthandside is an indication of the intensity of the auroras. This particular light was moving rapidly over the sky.
Imagine two men in their best age screaming like little girls in excitement of the view and the coincidence/luck this was. We had an opening of 10 minutes before the sky was completely closed by clouds and rain.
This was captured at Mannes with a view over the fjord to Steinsvika to the left and Maurnes to the right. Over a couple of days in March the northen lights had a very blue tone to it, which I haven't seen earlier in the season.
