Dean was roused from sleep unexpectedly. Daddy was picking up his backpack from the corner, the one Mommy had put together once the due date had become imminent. Rubbing his eyes of sleep it took Dean only a minute to realize what it meant that Daddy was picking up his hospital backpack.
It was time for his little brother to be born. The four-year-old wiggled out of his covers and hurried over to Daddy who slipped the pack on for him. Dean was then lifted into his fathers arms and carried down the stairs. In a hurry and Mommy in the car already, his father wrapped Dean in his oversized leather jacket and took him out to the car.
The trip to the hospital was filled with his mother breathing in a way Dean had never seen before between her quips of, John, slow down. It wouldnt have mattered how fast Daddy drove, they werent going to make it. The baby was coming to quickly.

You flee the night,
You flee the day,
For a safe place to stay.
Shadows come closer,
Lights gleam near
Of both you have something to fear.
Darkness brings secrets,
Brilliance carts lies,
Both hidden in layered disguise.
Dusk steals the sun,
Dawn filches the moon,
Taking them away all too soon.
Murky brooks hide,
Clear streams fool,
Minds bend in this wily duel.
Light does too,
But which is preferred by you?
Come to the shadows,
For flight is done in vain.
Fall to the light,
For fight will be your bane.
Escape is only futile,
Resistance is mere bile,
Haven is but a pile.
The Light will find you.
The Night will catch you.

Happy Birthday, Persephone“Hades...” her voice was tentative as she poked her head through the door, seeking entrance.Happy Birthday, Persephone3 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
Hades looked up from his favorite chair, the book he was engrossed in still propped up on his knee. Of all the people in the Underworld, Persephone was the only one allowed to disturb him while reading. But it was late, and he was surprised to see her up.
“Ah, hello Persephone,” he said, smiling, “Come in and sit with me.”
She trotted in and sat down in her favorite chair, the one he kept close to the fire because she was always cold. Hades was tired from hours of paperwork, and he'd missed her these last few days. Underworld business, dull though it may have been, was a Zeus-ordered mandate, and there was no shirking the job. There were many nights when he didn't sleep at all, and he knew it distressed Persephone to be left alone so often in these lofty chambers.
“Will you sit with me?” he asked, and she beamed at him, relieved. With her

Dark Water Mer
The tide churned as the tug and pull of waves could be felt in the shallows below the surface. The water lulling in great tumbling circles along the rocky reefs, shellfish sprawled open, eager to catch their meal as it swashed by. It left a colorful array of corals and other sea life running about in the midday squall, enjoying the bounty the equator's summer sun provided.
The hustle and bustle of the reef was mostly ignored by one of its inhabitants; having grown used to the rough tides and overall oceanic noise, attempting to nap within a sand bed between the rocks. Despite the activity, it was a relatively mellow day out, the tide was high, and the seas were overall calm; perfect napping weather as far as the jet black mer was concerned. He'd only rolled over once, swatting at a few pestilent crabs before attempting to doze off agai
Latias ReportLatias (the Eon Pokémon) is a legendary Dragon/Psychic-type Pokémon found in places all around the world, though only on rare occasions. Traveling in small herds and staying hidden from humans most of the time, Latias are beautiful creatures that are always willing to lend a help to Pokémon in need, even at the risk of their lives. Few trainers are ever lucky enough to see a Latias in their lifetime, but if you have a good heart and a kind spirit you have no need to worry, as you're almost guaranteed to see one before your time is done!Latias Report5 years ago in Profiles More Like This
Latias possess a special type of down that naturally refracts light, in turn allowing them to stay hidden from sight almost 100% of the time. Although their movements can still be detected by radar, this is rarely ever an issue because they almost never appear near humans or even other Pokémon; unfortunately, this has in turn essentially made any studying of their social patterns extremely difficult if not entirely impossible. Howeve
Altaria ReportAltaria (the Humming Pokémon) is a relatively rare Dragon/Flying-type Pokémon found among mountainous terrain and misty grasslands within the Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova and Kalos regions as well as the Johto region on rare occasions and some special preserves. Adored for their elegance and treasured for their beautiful voices, Altaria are magnificent birds that take the wonder associated with Dragon-types and effectively combines it with the ample grace and peacefulness of bird Pokémon. They might not be among the most powerful of Dragon-types, but once you listen to one of these creatures sing, you can be sure that any urge to battle will completely leave your mind as well as the mind of anyone close enough to hear!Altaria Report5 years ago in Profiles More Like This
As with Swablu, the fluffy down coating the wings of Altaria consists of fine, needle-like feathers bunched together in stalks to form a protective coating that is both toxic to predators and is able to enhance flight through large volumes of entrained air pockets
Absol ReportAbsol (the Disaster Pokémon) is a rare Dark-type Pokémon found among mountainous terrain within the Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova and Kalos regions as well as the Kanto and Johto regions on rare occasions. Though often considered to be nothing more than a plague to society, Absol are powerful beasts that are far kinder to the human race on a regular basis than some would like to think. Granted, it might not be best for the survival of a species to be the bringer of bad news, but when it comes to preparing for the worst disasters nature has to offer, few people would rather have any other warning sign than an Absol!Absol Report5 years ago in Profiles More Like This
Unfortunately for trainers, Absol are fairly rare in the modern day because they have been practically hunted to the point of becoming endangered. This is because, as odd as it may seem, many humans see Absol as the bringers of disasters; the truth, of course, could not be farther from this assumption. As it turns out, Absol have the unique ability to sense slight but sudde

“Supper” He said handing his cloak to Bilbo.

“It’s alright, Bilbo is here” Gandalf smiled.
Thorin sat up looking at the dwarves huddled around him.
The dwarves helped Thorin stand.
Thorin pushed everyone away from him, “You!” Thorin stared at Bilbo, “What were you doing? You nearly got yourself killed! Did I not say that you are near burden? Did I not say you wouldn’t survive in The Wild” Thorin asked.

You looked around, “Bilbo…” You looked at Gandalf concerned.
“Where is our burglar?!” Gandalf asked.
“Master Baggins saw his chance and he took it! We will not be seeing our Hobbit again” Thorin growled but looked at the rest of the dwarves, “He is long gone” Thorin said.
“The girl will have to be our new burglar” Balin suggested.

It's hard to see when you use your eyes.
Problem is, I'm a liar too.
I knew exactly where to look for you.
You're living one of your lies,
As you watch through the eyes,
Of humble mediocrity.
I'm here because someone has heard your plea.
You look at me and you scream for help,
Whilst saying nothing at all and not wanting to tell.
But that's not why I came,
I'm here because of what I became.
I came because I know what you can do,
Because I was once someone just like you.
I was once like you, living a lie.
Which is why I'm here - to silence your cry.
I came because you are a danger to me,
As you watch through your humble mediocrity.
Takes one to know one and I like my privacy,
So please forgive me because I am sorry.
As I look into your dead eyes,
With the potential to see through my lies.
I killed you for you saw my grand life as it really is

A fierce light begins to glow as the still-beating muscle bursts into a brilliant white flame that reaches up towards my hand and begins to burn the flesh. I cry out in pain until it stops, the fire dying; nothing but ash remains.
I collapse backwards and grip my hand, studying the mark that had been seared into my body: a Celtic cross, wrapped by an i

“He’ll be fine, just let him sit quietly for a few moments” You muttered softly looking at the dwarves.
“You’ve been sitting quietly for far too long” Gandalf sent a slight glare at Bilbo.
“Oh Gandalf leave him alone” You said sternly.
“When did doilies and your mother’s dishes become so important to you? I remember a young hobbit that was always running off in search for trouble, run into the woods, stay out late, come home after dark covered in mud and twigs” Gandalf said.
“I remember when you were like that Bilbo, so adventurous” You smiled softly.
