This piece was quite challenging. We know nothing of the dog nor of it's environment apart from it's composed of "angles". I went for a design associated with spider web in wich Hounds hunt time travellers. Special thanks go to as it was during our conversation about hounds that this idea came to my mind. Go check out his gallery, there is much of cool stuff.
Apart from that they are liqyfying and vaporizing on contact with angles what was descried in their attack. The tongue looks more like a saw. A classic depiction shows it with a tube like tongues... it wouldn't be able to sever a head as it did.
Also it is kind of 'double' to make it look even more alien
"Beyond life there are'—his face grew ashen with terror—'things that I cannot distinguish. They move slowly through angles. They have no bodies, and they move slowly through outrageous angles.'"
"'All the evil in the universe was concentrated in their lean, hungry bodies. Or had they bodies? I saw them only for a moment, I cannot be certain."
"'God, they are breaking through! They are breaking through! Smoke is pouring in from the corners of the wall. Their tongues—ahhh—"' Frank Belknap Long, The Hounds Of Tindalos
Danielle rubbed her eyes as she noticed her vision getting blurry with water. She knew her "father" would never accept her back, and she was still steamed about him using her, but then why was it she was missing him?
Screenshot from The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, touched up a little in Photoshop. I love this painting in the game but I had a hard time finding it online. So I grabbed it from a Youtube video, cleaned it up, and posted it here so others can find it.
The painting shows the Four Giants leaving their friend, the imp, to watch over the four worlds of Termina. The pain the imp feels is the catalyst for the story of Majora's Mask.
