John sleeps a lot these days. More than what Karkat deemed healthy. With a weary smile John would assure his Matesprit over and over that he is perfectly fine. Rose says it might be a small form of depression and that she should be alerted to any changes in his behavior. But, in the end, what does she know? They’re all just children.
Thoughts drifted in Karkat’s mind; they fell on another breath player who loved to dream. The connections between the two seemed to be strengthening over the weeks before their scheduled move. Their foolish, almost unrealistic, ideals of lighthearted fun, both were once perused by a devilish spider troll, and their love for the sky reached beyond their shared aspect. Tavros wasn’t one that Karkat wanted John to imitate. His reasoning was heavily biased, but he couldn’t change his opinions of his fallen friend.
He was a great team player, but he didn’t exactly emulate the strength and confidence th

You snap your head up to the one sight you never would have expected. Cherry red and yellow eyes slightly covered by uncut, un-styled black hair meet yours, a grey hand in mid stroke of your hair, the other half way wraps around your shoulders.
You can't believe it. You almost pass out. "K...KK?" A small, tired smile forms. He nods his head. "Oh my god, KK, ith it really you?"
"Yeah," His voice was raspy, different from his usual abused shouting voice, it was scratchy, new, unused. "It's me, Fuckface."
That's all the confirmation you need. "Oh my Gog, Karkat!!" You shout, leaping the short distance to tackle hug your friend.
"Ow, shit, Sollux." You're sorry about hurting him, but your moods have swung so high up, you can't feel anything but happy. He's back!

Karkat laughed uneasily, Yeah, true He sat down next to the other troll and hesitantly stated, So Im going to go out on a fucking limb and guess youre pissed at me.
Wow, what made you think that? Sollux had his back to Karkat.
Listen, Im sorry I didnt tell you about Feferi, I thought shed find you. I honestly believed that. Besides its not like we can control who we meet in these stupid things.
A large sigh left Sollux and he slumped against Karkat, I know, I know. Im still pithed though. You could have at least said something. After a while Sollux spoke up again, So hows John?

Sure, you have helped most of your friends sort out their redder quadrants, but actually starting to lean into that yourself-- fuck, it freaked you out. “Lava is a funny thing,” I muse. “It burns everything and anything absolutely.”
“Hate is also a funny thing,” I think as I fall. It’s a quick drop; there wasn’t that much space between the ledge where I fell and the liquid fire waiting below. “Hate is funny because it’s a lot like lava. It scorches the heart and soul and tears friendships to pieces.
It’s enough to make best friends bare fangs and claws towards each other. It’s enough to cause Moirails to become bitter enemies. A Moirail turned monster gloated as I fell. I hoped my eyes could burn my hatred for him into his skull. I wished for nothing more than to implant that seed of destruction in his mind and make sure the last thing he ever sees when he closes his own eyes is my anger.
“Hate is so much like lava,” the look of shock is long gone by seconds after I was impaled. It was replaced by the twisted sna

I shivered as the cold wind entered through the mouth of the cave. His cloak was wrapped around my body to help keep me warm, not that it mattered.
I was numb all over. This winter has been rather harsh on me. I've been snowed in several times, having to dig my way out if I wanted food. Making a warm fire was damn near impossible with the wood being all wet and no flint anywhere near by. These things didn't bother me though. I hardly ventured out anyway. I was to fragile and weak. He usually did that stuff, while I hunted.
Sometimes I think about to when we first admitted our feelings for each other. A smile creeped it's way onto my face. Despite it being foreign to my face now, it found it's way back one way or another. I remember feeling his warm arms around me during the wintertime. We'd cuddle near the fire beneath his cloak and a blanket that Dolorosa had made for us.
Olive tears threatened to leave my eyes at the happy memory, then anger began to set in. I

He comes to this realization a couple of hours later, or more like, he comes to terms with his brain and manages to convince himself that he’s not wrong, that he can’t sleep and no matter how much he tussles, changes position on the small couch or tries to think about happier things –things that he can’t seem to recall despite the events not being so long ago… it hasn’t been that long has it? - And happier times where he could fall asleep and actually get some real sleep.
The location doesn’t help either and with a groan that he swallows before it makes its way out of his lips, he sits up and stretches and ignores how his heart picks up quickly at his blurry vision. Everything’s dark, so dark… he contemplates on putting on his glasses and turning on the lights, maybe pace around the room for a bit and wait until morning comes but decides against it.

"What did you write about?" Kanaya asks.
"Wizards, mostly." She tries not to wince when Kanaya lifts her hand to blow gently at her nails; her fingers twitch nonetheless. "A suitably unimaginative topic for a child's first attempts to master the written word."
"Fantasy is unimaginative?"
"It's rather blasé, given how prevalent it is." She flicks her eyes away when Kanaya looks up.
"Did you produce much work?"

Any mare could sense it. She had been in denial, of course, but had to be struck with the truth of reality eventually. Her body swayed with the frequent waving of the locomotive as her eyes gawked into her own reflection of the window to the side. It was one of her worst habits. Procrastinating. Was it that she was truly lazy? It didn't seem so in this situation; fear and confusion arrested her. Hearing muffled laughter from outside the door, Rainbow pushed herself from the bed and stumbled to open the doorknob. Big Macintosh still had Caramel's words in his head even as he worked harder to ignore them. It was not that Caramel was wrong. The problem was that he could never think of an excuse to go and ask her out. He tried offering to take the Cakes their daily apple shipment, but Applejack would always insist on it so she could visit with Pinkie for a bit. Mac would never deny his little sister any chance to spend time with her friends, and seeing her leave the farm occasionally to have fun was always welcome.
Today was different. If Caramel could pony up and bring himself to ask Applejack out, then he should be able to do the same. 'I'll go one this fence is finished,' he promised himself. He was content to content to allow himself this excuse and f

The summer sun rose over Ponyville through a cloudless blue sky. The early light beamed through the window of Princess Luna's bedroom at the Carousel Boutique. With the sun in her face again, the Princess slowly woke up from the wonderful dream she was having. Stretching lazily, she reached over to the other side of the bed, sat up swiftly, and gazed at the empty spot next to her. "I guess it really was a dream." She spoke softly to herself.
Luna sighed and smiled. 'But what a dream!' She thought. Now that it was light, the Princess could see her environment better. Luna was used to much larger rooms. To tell the truth, she had closets that were larger than Spike and R

It was a calm, yet cold day in Ponyville. The weather team had done a fine job with weather conditions lately. The week had been filled with the warm sun shining over the snow covered landscape; making it glitter in the sunlight. In the distance, Canterlot could be seen shimmering in the sunlight as if it was frozen in time and space. The sight was one to behold as the white marble walls of the royal castle appeared like a second sun on the horizon.
Ponyville was just a couple of days away from the traditional Winter Wrap Up. Everyone was busy preparing their homes and tools for the job. Applejack spent the last couple of days fixing the damages the plows had sustained during the last Winter Wrap Up, but was struggling to get it done. The equipment was much more totaled than originally thought. Rainbow Dash, on her vacation day, even joined in on Applejack's endeavors by keeping the sky clear of clouds so that the work could

"No," answered Flim grinning like a fool.
"Oh, well it is that one then?" Pinkie enthused, pointing out a blue unicorn colt with a white and blue mane.
"No," Flim said again.
"Okay, I got it for sure this time!" she said and looked thoughtfully at the foals before her.
After a minute of this Rainbow snapped, "Oh Flim would you just tell us already?!"
