John sleeps a lot these days. More than what Karkat deemed healthy. With a weary smile John would assure his Matesprit over and over that he is perfectly fine. Rose says it might be a small form of depression and that she should be alerted to any changes in his behavior. But, in the end, what does she know? They’re all just children.
Thoughts drifted in Karkat’s mind; they fell on another breath player who loved to dream. The connections between the two seemed to be strengthening over the weeks before their scheduled move. Their foolish, almost unrealistic, ideals of lighthearted fun, both were once perused by a devilish spider troll, and their love for the sky reached beyond their shared aspect. Tavros wasn’t one that Karkat wanted John to imitate. His reasoning was heavily biased, but he couldn’t change his opinions of his fallen friend.
He was a great team player, but he didn’t exactly emulate the strength and confidence th

Where else would I be?
Karkat laughed uneasily, Yeah, true He sat down next to the other troll and hesitantly stated, So Im going to go out on a fucking limb and guess youre pissed at me.
Wow, what made you think that? Sollux had his back to Karkat.
Listen, Im sorry I didnt tell you about Feferi, I thought shed find you. I honestly believed that. Besides its not like we can control who we meet in these stupid things.
A large sigh left Sollux and he slumped against Karkat, I know, I know. Im still pithed though. You could have at least said something. After a while Sollux spoke up again, So hows John?
I dont know, fine for the moment, Karkat answered while grabbing a spare screwdriver and undoing a hatch. H

“Lava is a funny thing,” I muse. “It burns everything and anything absolutely.”
“Hate is also a funny thing,” I think as I fall. It’s a quick drop; there wasn’t that much space between the ledge where I fell and the liquid fire waiting below. “Hate is funny because it’s a lot like lava. It scorches the heart and soul and tears friendships to pieces.
It’s enough to make best friends bare fangs and claws towards each other. It’s enough to cause Moirails to become bitter enemies. A Moirail turned monster gloated as I fell. I hoped my eyes could burn my hatred for him into his skull. I wished for nothing more than to implant that seed of destruction in his mind and make sure the last thing he ever sees when he closes his own eyes is my anger.
“Hate is so much like lava,” the look of shock is long gone by seconds after I was impaled. It was replaced by the twisted sna

He comes to this realization a couple of hours later, or more like, he comes to terms with his brain and manages to convince himself that he’s not wrong, that he can’t sleep and no matter how much he tussles, changes position on the small couch or tries to think about happier things –things that he can’t seem to recall despite the events not being so long ago… it hasn’t been that long has it? - And happier times where he could fall asleep and actually get some real sleep.
The location doesn’t help either and with a groan that he swallows before it makes its way out of his lips, he sits up and stretches and ignores how his heart picks up quickly at his blurry vision. Everything’s dark, so dark… he contemplates on putting on his glasses and turning on the lights, maybe pace around the room for a bit and wait until morning comes but decides against it.

I shivered as the cold wind entered through the mouth of the cave. His cloak was wrapped around my body to help keep me warm, not that it mattered.
I was numb all over. This winter has been rather harsh on me. I've been snowed in several times, having to dig my way out if I wanted food. Making a warm fire was damn near impossible with the wood being all wet and no flint anywhere near by. These things didn't bother me though. I hardly ventured out anyway. I was to fragile and weak. He usually did that stuff, while I hunted.
Sometimes I think about to when we first admitted our feelings for each other. A smile creeped it's way onto my face. Despite it being foreign to my face now, it found it's way back one way or another. I remember feeling his warm arms around me during the wintertime. We'd cuddle near the fire beneath his cloak and a blanket that Dolorosa had made for us.
Olive tears threatened to leave my eyes at the happy memory, then anger began to set in. I

How could I possibly mistake her? His voice seemed hostile at the very thought of not recognizing her. He was visibly shaken, it wasnt certain if that was from excitement or something else.
John stirred in the bed and whimpered at Karkats missing warmth, Whats going on? He rubbed his eyes and sat up, Sollux? What are you doing here?
The blind troll ignored John, She had something very important to tell me. But I fucking woke up before she could say anything. Im so worthless, fuck.
No youre not Sollux. At least we know shes alive out there.
A voice from across the room chimed in, Whos Aradia?
Our time player, Karkat answered, he pulled Sollux back to the bed so he could sit down. Do you remember anything else from the dream?
Still the Same Chapter EightThe hall was shrouded in shadows, but none of this was new to Sollux. It had been a few months since the accident that rendered him blind and weak, seeing darkness was something he had long begun accustomed to. Being blind was a hassle, but it wasn't the worst thing that could have happened to him. At least he had someone who had gone through it before, 'Thank the fucking gods we are aren't on Alternia anymore.' The news about Karkat and John's recent Matespritship was startling but also pretty great. He was happy for both his Moirail and John. But as eager as he was to tell the others Sollux slowed his pace and stopped. This was one of the rare opportunities to test his 'vision' with his psionics.
Carefully he summoned up the tiny amount of power he did have and focused it, moving out across

Life is now luxurious for the people of Alternia. They have everything, all of their sacrifice and hard work paid off. Their territory spreads out across the vast universe. Entire galaxies are under their rule, and from these galaxies they take their prizes. Some natives they enslave, others they simply rule. Heinous games are created. Said games are different now, gambling is different. Instead of betting with chips that stand for money trolls tend to use the lives of the species they capture. The games played vary from planet to planet. Sometimes they play cards and the exchange of "chips" works like a slave trade. Caramel was running through the street in his neighborhood in Manehattan not paying attention to where he was going. The young colt was having too much fun tossing his ball into the air and bouncing it off of his nose to notice, and he certainly did not notice when he ran right into a filly. A filly he would meet again years later.
"Whoa," yelped the orange filly.
"Oh I'm sorry," Caramel said quickly forgetting his ball being worried for the filly he ran into. He knelt over and helped her back to her hooves. When he saw her, he was stunned by how pretty she was. Her hair was a bit exaggerated but she had the most beautiful and honest green eyes he ever saw. All he could was stare.

"Are you feeling better, Twilight Sparkle?" the Princess of the night asked.
"A little bit, Princess, thank you," Twilight allowed, taking a long sip from her glass of water before softly setting it back on the table.
At a glance, it appeared little had changed in the appearance of the group in the twenty minutes since Princess Luna had finished relating Twilight's mishap from the night before. However, closer inspection would reveal an empty plate that once held a sandwich in front of Big Macintosh and bowls of salad ranging from partially eaten to just a few leaves remaining at Fluttershy, Rarity, and Luna's places. As for the others, they had opted for refills for their glasses of water, except for Pinkie, whose face remained submerged in her bowl. Twilight was convinced that the pink pony was somehow breathing through her ears.
"So who wants to go next and tell us their side of what happened last night?" Twilight asked.

The beautiful fall afternoon greeted her. The sun's rays shone through the almost barren trees, and the air was crisp. As the leaves crunched under Fionna's boots, she thought of her old adventures she used to have in her backyard. She missed Cake, and she missed using her crystal sword her parents had bought her from the Candy Kingdom. Fionna sighed. When she looked up ahead, she could see a boy sitting on one of the benches that lined the walkway. He was strumming a bass. A huge, wide-rimmed black hat sat on his head. He wore long leather gloves and a button-up black shirt. His bottom half was covered with ripped up jeans, and dirty black converse sneakers were on his feet. A red jewel necklace was around his neck. As Fionna came closer, she realized he was playing "Destroya" by My Chemical Romance, and he was singing as well. His voice was lovely... nic

Eyes clenched, Rainbow Dash squirmed and allowed herself to sink deeper into the fluffy cloud that was her home. The afternoon Sun shone down upon her, rousing her from her slumber. She rolled onto her back and let loose a huge yawn. Sighing, the pale cyan pegasus slowly cracked open her eyes and rubbed them with her two fore-hooves. She sat up on her haunches and peeked over the edge of her cloud, gazing at the bridge to Ponyville nearby. Nopony was there.

Are you a spy?
The sun shined through the window, filling the little chamber with warm, playful colors. A distant bird was chirping happily, announcing the beginning of spring as the wind kindly caressed the tiny new-born leaves that were decorating the old apple trees.
The blue pegasus lazily opened her eyes, slowly looking around the room. The wooden walls reflected the orange light of the sunrise, as if they were quietly chanting to the rhythm of the clouds, slowly waking up along with the entire farm. A table with a small mirror was resting in a corner, along with a chair and a simple red chest. Rainbow looked at the white, transparent curtains that were swinging slowly, embracing the gentle breeze, as her gaze fell upon the orange pony that was lying next to her, still asleep.
She's so beautiful...
Rainbow let out a small sigh as she looked at her marefriend. It felt so good to finally be able to admit all these thoughts

No, she had known before then.
She had just denied it.

She had seen her daughter grow into somepony strong and beautiful.
She had found love, the pony of her dreams.
She had friends, and a passion, and was truly Great and Powerful, in all the ways that mattered!
This wasn't supposed to happen!
She had known.
She had always known, deep in the darkest pit of her soul.

Her fate had been sealed, on the same day that her mother's fate ended.

I did not fall off a roof.
I missed the sound of his voice, his scent I still can't replace. I missed the way he always cared, how even when broken, he was always there. And I had become addicted like never before, and found I couldn't breathe without him.
I was not pushed off a roof.
I missed the way he always dressed. I missed the way he walked. I missed the shining of his eyes, his hair, his smile, how he always tries. And I'd run into his arms, my heart beat getting stronger, beating the poison through my veins.
I was not caught, once off the roof.
I missed the way he said my name.

Applejack turned towards the blue pegasus. This was becoming slightly annoying.
"I uh... I said that you did a fine job.... today, I mean," replied Rainbow Dash. She quickly pointed at the nearest apple tree. "The apples, all gone. Ha! I never knew how you could get them all down... you know, with a single kick."
