I’m listening to everything you say.
I bite my lip as hard as I can,
And I try not to say anything back,
Because I know just how terrible you can be.
You always belittle me in front of others,
Saying I have the EASY life.
You know I have to try 10 times as hard as you.
My life is a least a dozen times worst than yours.
I don’t want to listen to you say that.
I can only handle so much.
This abuse is getting out of hand.
My mask is starting to
Little by little, you’re breaking it.
My dark colors are hidden beneath,
And you’re about to rip them
And shed light on them.
And when they’re exposed
I won’t be able to hold that rage
And just when I’m afraid my mask is cracking,
I know for a fact that it is shattering.
And I feel it letting my dark side through.
I feel the evil,
I feel the sin, the
Hidden inside of me
And let the darkness through.
And it gushes

try to live it up and turn things around
because a smile gone into a frown
would turn the world like Topsy-turvy town.
As to a lot may have been strange
just like the meter on my car's gauge
I just want to let the people know
that life can't be dug by a hoe
and as human's, we have sins to atone.
A tall tale that's not yet said and done
is like a world that ran out of fun
wish that my friend's wouldn't run out of puns
and that guy weighed like a ton!
Heaven smiles upon the people who are positive
to those who think otherwise are negative
for their thoughts can either be diversive
or maybe it's just their prerogative.
I can feel a force... Something elusive
or maybe it's just my friend who's really seductive
I can't resist the sediment that come's out of her like some kind of adhesive
and the actions we made were rather... Intensive.

HeartbreakIt hurts.Heartbreak2 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
How can you tell?
You feel that?
A soft happiness coming from the depths of your heart.
Suddenly, a bullet hits.
Shattering glass hearts.
Everything bleeds away.
Now you have nothing.
No life. No hope.
You are alone.
A cold, dark presence forms where the love once was.
Beautiful ContradictionOne of my favorite places to beBeautiful Contradiction2 years ago in Songs & Lyrics More Like This
Is also my worst fear
All the life I see
Is shadowed by the death here
The waves call me
Begging me forward
Into the sea
Only to drag me downward
What a beautiful contradiction
It's hard to tell the difference
Between death and life
Day and night
Sinking to the bottom
It was you, not them
Beauty turns to scars
Can't erase these marks
Save me from what I've done
Save me from the monster I've become
Swallowed by the ocean
I'm calm, I'm calm
My heart is broken
This is how I move on
It's better this way
I'm out of the picture
No longer causing you pain
Thinking of you now
A tear rises to the surface

The voice in the back of my head?
You, do you see it,
The shadows at the foot of my bed?
Maybe I'm just different,
In a way that no one can see.
You just don't understand,
What it's like being me.
MonstersNovember stabs at my heartMonsters2 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
Ice cold fingers dig through me, searching and grabbing
stealing away my summer air
the demons of December eat what's left of me
digging through the scraps
snatching furiously at whatever's left
January comes and goes like a vulture
Scaring away the Holidays and taking what's left
I'm gasping for air, tears frozen on my face. Frostbite nipping at my nose, I hear
Desolation at my door
February, the ghost of winter
Haunting my corpse. Guarding what's left,
Cautiously scratching at the pieces
March is bipolar
Should I nibble what's left of this poor creature?
Or help her find her way?
March is bipolar. The lamb or the lion.
Summer goes by, I'm regaining my spirit,
Building myself up for another winter.

At once you are at the top of it all,
Falling, falling, from the greatest of heights;
Descending from on-high, in head-long flight,
Nothing can withhold your maddening fall.
Downward, downward, back to earth you go,
All the while, you remain unaware,
That you're firmly locked within death's stare,
Of dangerous peril you do not know.
You go to release your parachute cord,
But, alas, your salvation doesn't burst;
Farther, farther, to your doom you're thrust,
Your soul to God, soon to be restored.
In the blackest dark all becomes as one,
So ends the fall, so ends the short-lived fun.
The Sore Of A Deaf PoemAnother crumpled sheet thrown on the floor,The Sore Of A Deaf Poem2 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
Another shout, a thud, because she can't get rid of the sore,
The deaf poem of her broken heart is maybe too degraded,
She's not able to write it down, her soul is jaded,
The phrases of her life are burning on the inside,
A description about the moment when her dreams died,
It's smashing her heart and her tired mind.
From nowhere she hears a sardonic voice,
"- You're not able to hear the words anymore, in fact you never really did,
You have shed some scraps on pages, lies your soul to feed with",
She covered her ears, closed her eyes,
To stop hearing the demonic voice she tries,
"- Shut up!" she yelled again like every day,
It's impossible to escape this abomination that came in her way.
Maybe this is an already lost fight,
A decommissioned road to the healing light,
Her pathetic flounder makes no sense,
She's laying on the floor holding a broken pen.
Torn by the fall from grace,
She will leave behind just a bloody trace,
Twisted GodsOnce, when I was just a child,Twisted Gods4 months ago in Free Verse More Like This
I was told that only devils were killers.
But now, outside of fairy tales,
Gods strike down their human pawns
With winds of fire and smoke
As they laugh amongst each other in the sky.
Farmers and warriors alike
Are killed in fields of battle;
Not for sacrifice, but for sick fun.
For me, All gods have turned to monsters
Better to be destroyed than worshiped;
After all, only devils are killers.
IceThe boy lived with his motherIce5 months ago in Free Verse More Like This
In the bad part of their town.
The two lived there all alone,
His father nowhere to be found.
The boy was always so sad,
Even at only six years old.
He had no friends for happiness,
And his mother, she was cold.
He spent his nights by the telly,
Watching cartoons about a huntsman.
But even that couldn't bring a smile
As he ate cheap soup from the can.
As he grew older, he grew colder,
Until he was made of ice.
People avoided him like the plague
For that hard look in his eyes.
It wasn't until he'd almost forgotten
That he re-learned how to love.
That girl, she was his savior for sure-
An angel sent from above.
She stayed with him throughout his days,
Trying to heal his rocky heart.
It took her months, took her years,
But she finally erased his scars.
Now keep in mind, that's not to say
That he turned into a perfect guy.
He might laugh, but still, he's sad,
And you might even catch him cry.
Because that life that he had before,
From when he was still so youn
Broken WristwatchI saw him in the subwayBroken Wristwatch5 months ago in Free Verse More Like This
As I had for weeks;
He stood in the same spot,
Waiting at the same time,
For the same train.
He never wavered in his route,
And I never wavered in mine -
Each day, I stood just feet away,
Waiting for the same train,
At the same time,
As I had for weeks.
We were silent, familiar strangers.
Over the course of time,
I noticed his wristwatch -
It was broken, with unmoving hands,
While it made a clacking ticking noise.
When it clicked, he would wind it,
And then let his arm fall back to his side.
I started to wear my own watch,
Clean and new - working, too -
With softly shifting hands
And an even clicking and ticking.
I did so in the hopes that maybe
He would ask me for the time.
As the weeks slowly passed,
We shifted closer in the mornings -
He would shuffle a little nearer
With his hands in his pockets,
His broken wristwatch unevenly
Clicking and ticking away.
I would shift a little closer,
Tucking my hands into my pockets
And watching, waiting, for the train.
Don't Forget Me TonightI beg of you,Don't Forget Me Tonight6 months ago in Free Verse More Like This
Don't forget me tonight.
Don't leave me scared and alone,
Curled under the covers
With nothing but emptiness
By my side.
Don't let me lie here alone,
Thinking about you,
Wishing for you,
While you're out and about
With someone you'll
Never see again.
I'm tired of being second-choice,
Or sometimes even third.
I'm everything you need and more,
Curled up here under the covers,
Begging that you
Don't forget me tonight.

And downed that
Nectar of the Gods,
Sparked with a fire
Of it's own.

He touched a petal.
His other hand pricked a thorn.
Wincing, he looked down
To see blood drip.
"They seem dangerous."
She laughed softly.
Her voice was like windchimes.
With gloved hands,
She took his own.
"They aren't. You have to be careful."
He looked at her.
He took the gloves she gave him,
Sliding them on over pale skin.
"Well I know that now.."
A sweet smile.
She kissed his cheek.
She picked up a pot,
And dug a soft bed.
"Well good. Because you have to help."
He took the rosebush.
Carefully, he tucked it in.
With a soft, unheard murmur,
He turned and hugged her close.
"I've never planted roses."
He kissed the top of her head.
She smiled, and leaned into him.
Hugging her, still,
He whispered in her ear.
"But I'm in love with one."

After being cast down a long lonely road.
There's only one thing that's left behind:
Dust covering all of my intimate thoughts.
There's not enough of me left to say that:
"I hope you are happy with the destruction you've wrought."
I'm so empty inside that I can't dream.
When I close my eyes I see nothing but black.
It would be terrifying if I could remember to fear,
But I don't think that that will ever come back.
I know way deep down I should be worried,
But I don't really think there's enough of me there.
I guess if I'm really being truthful,
The truth is that I just don't want to care.
I don't want to go back to being overemotional
Over all of those simple little things that you did.
I don't want to remember just how good it felt
To hold you very close or just touch your skin.

I used to know a girl

And ask why nobody loved her
While I said that I did, and she didn't listen.
I used to know a girl
Who would do something foolish
And I would be there to pick up the pieces
Before they were stepped on and shattered again.
I used to know a girl
Who would call me over
And she would cry into my shoulder
Over the last of a line of lovers again and again.
I used to know a girl
Who found out the truth
And asked me why I'd never told her sooner
Even though I'd whispered the words one hundred times.

He offers a smile as he walks backwards through the gate,
And his tears start to form when he sees her start to cry.
From behind the metal counter he forms a heart with his hands,
Calling out "I love you" over the crowd around them.
It isn't enough to keep her sad heart from breaking,
When she has to watch him go like this is a bad dream.
Suddenly she's running past the crowd and all the workers,
Bolting through the metal gate and right into his arms.
She buries her face in his chest, while her tears get his shirt wet.
He hugs her very close and ignores the surrounding swarm.
He says, "Baby I know that this is gonna be a long year,
And I promise that I will miss you for every single day.
If I didn't have a paper here that says I have to go,
Then you know for sure that with you, I would stay."

They were dark like his eyes, but his skin was very fair.
He had a way of moving that sent shivers up my spine.
His dark, soulful eyes made me wish that he was mine.
There once was a man who was serious as could be.
I never once saw him smile, not even when with me.
Instead, behind those sad eyes was always a wall of pain,
And nothing was remotely funny; nothing was a game.
There once was a man who broke right into tears
When he told me what happened; when he told me of his fears.
He told me that he was afraid that I would disappear,
And no matter what I said, my words he wouldn't hear.
There once was a man who cut off the feathers in his hair.
I pleaded for him not to, but I could tell he didn't care.
He cared for me, of course, but had one misguided thought:
If he cut them he'd be happy; if he left them, he would not.
There once was a man who'd lost everything he had,
From family to photo frames, a story so, so sad.

She prays as her eyes finally flutter shut,

The Worst ThingsI asked, Old man,The Worst Things8 months ago in Free Verse More Like This
Why do you look so sad?
You've got a wife and a kid,
All you said you want to have.
He says, "Me, I've got cancer,
And my little girl is sick.
I ain't got enough money
To try and fix none of this."
"The only real truth son, is that
The best things in life ain't free.
The very best things in life,
You see, they come with a fee.
It's only the worst things
That come around for nothin',
And bad things will not help me
From this hole that I'm stuck in."

Unless you've got some luck.
And luck, it don't exist for you

Because now that he'd said it,

Then the worst will come to you.

Not much older than he'd been.
