Yes, it's me...I cannot believe I am breaking down to submit a pretty normal portrait, but it is nice to attach a face to a body of work...I admit that my curiosity gets the better of me sometimes when I see others work.
I think I shot my worse half though....only kidding.
Sometimes a simple offering is the most true, uplifting and heartfelt.
I have another similar pic in my gallery, but this one I tried some different things with. I still like the blown out look in the back, but coloring is totally different and I left in the tattoo in this one (not sure if this was the right decision).
Concept: Offering of oneself without the need for reward.
Riding on a boat on the Mekong Delta, in Vietnam, this boy climbed on the side of the boat and tried selling us some dragon fruit ( a yummy and colorful fruit from this region). This is taken through a window, yet he seemed to stair in my eyes without any barriers whatsoever.
Every crystalline drop contains a story....
Each one has its own nuance of emotion...
All contain a tear, a bead of sweat,
yet each possesses an element of cleansing.

Indulging their memory
For at least this one moment in time.

I wanted to create an image that had the feel of a study for a classical painting. I also wanted to capture the slight feeling of an unnatural stillness that many of these pieces oft exhibited.
It seems tthat he more i delve into photographty, the more i revisit my self-taught classical art historical studies. And the more I want to pay homage to the masters which have taught and inspired throughout the ages.
