Happy Thanksgiving! Stompadon is thankful for pumpkins this year.
I haven't updated about the Stompadon plushie kickstarter in a while. The Stompadon kickstarter is going to be going up soon now that I have the prototype. If you think this is a cute toy and would like to support one of your independent artists, please pass it along once it is up! I will be updating as I find out more news about it's progress.
I was almost finished with it and it fell off the table. I guess I should find a better place to paint - or at least start blanketing the area with pillows. Spike was miraculously unhurt, but Twilight has cracks all over the place and lost a good chunk of her horn. Usually I reinforce the joints with epoxy putty, but I just went for plain clay this time. Fine for Spike, but big mistake for Twilight. Frankly, I'm sick of this project and I'm not repairing and repainting. Spike looks pretty good, though I regret not making him free-standing. Oh, well. Maybe I'll make him his own little base to stand on, or perhaps he can get a better Twilight one of these days. Anyway, I'm done with it now. And good riddance.
Twilight is Original Sculpey, Super Sculpey, and Super Sculpey Firm on a wire and foil armature. Spike is made entirely of Super Sculpey Firm on a wire and foil armature. Cel-Vinyl paints (and boy am I happy with those).
I decided that Spike was good enough for his own deviation, so you can see him close up here ([link]) and from a bunch of different angles here ([link]).
My Steampunk Eyewear folder is pretty popular and I thought it was high time that I selected a pair of goggles to post here in DA.
Whats new about my goggles? I've been practicing and doing some more research into what makes a good pair of goggles and one of the things that truly makes a pair stand out is the cut and sew of the goggle. Each stitch line of AtticRaiders goggles is super straight and each cut is super smooth creating a clean looking design thats appealing to men and women.
The other cool thing about these goggles? The new flip lens design! Each flip lens either stays down or up and can also be ordered in other colors!
**These goggles are handmade and are one of a kind, they will not be repaeated because of rare and/or hard to find parts that decorate the goggles.
This is a custom pair of handmade one of a kind goggles. **This item has sold

Realllllly into this show right now. It's awesome and the characters and stories are amazing :'D
As for this character in particular... ... I am impartial .__.
I'm also going to be use the various stages of my working on this picture to demonstrate the different kind of commissions I'll do, when I open up commissions officially (not far off, keep an eye on my page!)
Based on beautiful art by , which you can see here: [link]
Link is made of various polymer clays (Sculpey, Super Sculpey, and Super Sculpey Firm) on an armature of wire, foil, and epoxy putty, painted with Cel-Vinyl paints. He's approximately 21cm (over 8") tall.
Production notes: The armature was difficult to build, but it paid off - the only break I had was when an unattached Makar fell off a table and his mask shattered. It wasn't too hard to do again, though I'm learning that a lot of depth and texture disappears once the paint is on. So maybe certain features need to be exaggerated more, like the creases between his eyebrows and the 3d-ness of Makar's leaf mask.
I used Wind Waker (the game itself) a lot for reference (and because it's the best game ever), but when confronted with decisions between in-game style and the Wind Waker art style, I went with the art style. So this is not necessarily a sculpt of Link in the game.
I didn't reference some of the more repetitive details, so things like Makar's back stripes are just out my head.
