It's consisted of hours of listening to him scream "Oh BLOODY HELL" and "DAMN IT!" into my ear.
Voice Acting Auditions - CLOSED! + ANIMATIC!My gosh you guys are impatient, I still needed time to illustrate and compile the thing! Now that my animation course has resumed I may as well update you all on the progress of my search for Voice Actors for the rolls of Louis, James, and Santiago for my upcoming film 'Honour Amongst Thieves':
Auditions are now closed, and three "finalists" have been selected as the voices for the characters. Congratulations to:
as Louis Despatis
as James Hunter
as Santiago de la Cruz
All three sent in terrific voice clips with very good quality, and I hadn't expected to find such suitable voices for all three characters, especially on such short notice for such a small production! Thank you all for spreading the word

Last Sunday I had a Skype meeting with Brendan Julian and Richard Johnston - the voices of Louis and James respectively from my upcoming animation - to discuss the finer points of Honour Amongst Thieves. As promised, I managed to record it and so without further ado, I present to you:
Honour Amongst Thieves
I was delighted to see the two of them got along so well, because their character interaction promises to be great this way. Unfortunately, Santiago's VA was unable to make it due to timezones, but perhaps sometime in future we'll be able to repeat this again plus one Spaniard!

For those asking, I'm animating directly into the computer using a Wacom tablet. The animation program I'm using is TVPaint Animation 10 Pro. Super expensive so I use the school computers, but it's like the illegitimate love-child between Photoshop and Adobe After Effects without Flash's niggling tendencies to crash every ten minutes. That program is sex. <3

It's sound-effect-less, music-less, and not cleaned up at all, but I will be uploading each scene as I complete them so that the voice actors can see how their work is coming together. Perhaps it's also interesting for people interested in some of the processes of animation, as well.
ADAM LAMBERT LIVE IN SINGAPOREI pride myself on being an "old soul" when it comes to music taste. As a kid I was raised on classical greats like Mozart, Beethoven, Bach, Chopin, and the list goes on by my dad. My mom weaned my sister and I on goldies like ABBA, Bon Jovi, Rod Stewart, and Boney M. I listen to copious amounts of 70s and 80s bands that make me look like a bit of a dweeb to my classmates, ranging anywhere from Alice Cooper, Queen, Led Zeppelin, and Joan Jett through to Adam Ant and Dead or Alive. As a result, I'm heavily biased against what I call the "mainstream crap on MTV".ADAM LAMBERT LIVE IN SINGAPORE3 years ago in Personal More Like This
But just give me this one thing. Just this one.
Because I am a complete and total Glambert.
When I found out Adam Lambert was coming to Singapore March 8th I was both excited and conflicted, because I had already bought tickets to see Robert Plant (of Led Zeppelin) live on the 21st this month as well. But I'm glad I caved into my te

IceyTHORlover432: Loki either raped a horse, or that horse raped him. O.o I've got bad images now...
Me: Sleipnir is the child of Loki and Svaðilfari
Wiki says: "In Norse mythology, Svaðilfari (Old Norse "unlucky traveler") is a stallion that fathered the eight-legged horse Sleipnir with Loki (in the form of a mare)"
mare = A mare is an adult female horse or other equine.
That horse so raped Loki...
Okay, everything he did in THOR is excused for me from now on...
JOKE! JOKE! Just making fun of Loki!

Plugging the VAsHello all,Plugging the VAs2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Things are still incredibly busy and hectic over here, in light of which I don't have much time to dedicate towards Honour Amongst Thieves at the moment. Rest assured, we haven't seen the last of the project and the characters around here, but in the meantime, I thought I might tide you over with some "goodies". Each of the characters' VAs are very talented in their own ways, and I thought I'd plug some of their websites for those of you interested in what they do when they're not cussing at pirates or berating heathens.
Brendan Julian, voice of Louis:
As well as voice acting for several college projects, Brendan is also a
musician and songwriter. He has several videos of his guitar covers uploaded to
his YouTube account, as well as some singing. You can find his best stuff here:

Loki had brown hair apparently...Anywho...
ALL MY FEELS. Loki killed a Dark Elf that turned against Asgard and then he was like: *eyes widen, Thor takes sword of flames and gives the crying Loki huggles*
The huggles only lasted like 10 seconds, since THor had to go and be awesome, but STILL. Right in the feels...
And then he's all angsty for the last few minutes of the movie xD
Very awesome though, go watch it. Shoo.

For those interested in trying out, read the rules in the Artist's Comments attached to this picture:
Due to the talkative nature of this film, I'm desperately in need of good voices, so tell your friends or family if you think one of them might be up to the part! And there are even PRIZES for the finalists! So go on, what are you waiting for? Head on over and try out!

Why so serious?
We also spent some time this evening listening to the voice auditions for Honour Amongst Thieves that I've received so far, and may I just say that a lot of the entries have been just SO amazing!! I'm seriously having a really hard time trying to choose between some of these voices, but I'm going to leave the auditions open until early January, so if we don't all die before the 22nd you've still got some time on your hands.
Our "Judging" faces.
I may have to make a compilation of some of the better ones ... seriously some amazing stuff. But now I stink from my 13-hour flight so I'

All together now: EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE~!!!!!!
Who is Adam Ant, you ask?! WHO?!! He's only the ENTIRE REASON Louis Despatis even EXISTS!!!
It is a little-known fact, but I was listening to Adam Ant the fateful I day I put pencil to paper in my sketchbook, and began to doodle what would later become the most popular and dandy of my OCs. And I continue to love his music.
Excuse me while I go bounce off the walls and then explode with happiness and then die in a pool of my-life-is-fulfilled, thank you. Except that I won't really, because I have a whole new reason to exist.
The Hobbit: An Unexpected JourneySaw The Hobbit last night. It was very good... if a bit long. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for seeing all the little details interconnecting The Hobbit to Lord of the Rings and all that, but for the average watcher... eh... it kinda dragged. I overheard several people saying they fell asleep during the film, and I noticed more than once a number of people fidgeting and looking at their watches. Still, it's a damn fine movie and It's a shame we have to wait so long for the next two films. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Having The Hobbit being written during the beginning of Lord of the Rings is pretty smart. You could effectively watch the 3 Hobbit movies and then immediately move right into the 3 Lord of the Rings movies. Kudos to Jackson for that, it'll be great to marathon run the two trilogies back to back.
This movie was, like the book, much lighter and funnier than The Lord of the Rings and I was surprised at how much from the books they actually kept. They

If you haven't heard by now a bridge in Washington collapsed. No one was hurt, thankfully. As someone who remembers the tragedy of the Minnesota I-35 collapse, it makes me very happy that no one died. Glad everyone is safe and here's hoping maybe we'll start looking into how bad our bridges actually are and... I dunno... fixing them?
Microsoft unveiled the Xbox One to boos and hisses. I can't say I blame them. Every piece of information about the console makes me cringe in the worse possible ways. The sad thing is, despite how epically awful it is... it's still going to sell phenomenally because it's got Halo and Microsoft's deep pockets to back it up.

Back at LASALLEThat's right, after two eye-opening months, my stay at Ubisoft is over (... which is a shame, because they were offering a prize to the person who could prank their colleagues the best this April Fools!).Back at LASALLE2 years ago in Personal More Like This
It was a great experience; I got the chance to work on multiple projects in the company, doing everything from technical drawings, character concepts, to storyboarding and illustrations. I was constantly challenged to produce faster and better work, including some digital and matte paintings, which I still struggle with immensely. By the end of the two months I was finally getting a handle on things, but alas, all good things must come to an end. I wish I could share some of my work with you, but I am sworn to confidentiality.
I made some good friends while I was there; the art director is a friend to the animation program leader at LASALLE, and he purposefully challenged me to start practicing digital painting. I was sat next to the senior storyboard and concept ar

At first let me wish you all the best for 2012 - happy new year, people!
I hope you will enjoy many amazing moments, that you will keep your beloved and you will make also new friends I wish you to stay healthy, because it is the most important thing!
I also must thank you for all support you gave me in 2011 - I hope my dA year 2012 will be at least as nice as 2011, because thanks to you, that year was really great when it came to dA things!
But in general, I am happy 2011 is over. It was not a good year for me and my family. Too many bad events, too many disappointments, too many days spent in hospital and even sadder places. So I hope 2012 can be a new start for something nice again.
And because I am a person who loves turning points, start of the new year is a good chance to set my goals. So although some people are mad about it, let me set my New Year's resolution:

My ApologiesHello all,My Apologies2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Let me begin by first apologizing to those of you who have left me notes, comments, or questions over the past few weeks. I have been absent for DA for an extended period of time due to real life priorities, and the stress doesn't look as though it is about to relent. While I will try to get back on top of my deviations and replies here, it will be slow-going and I can't promise to be around regularly.
As well as rushing to meet deadlines for my animation, I have also been organizing and setting up the LASALLE Show with my classmates, and as class representative for 2D animation I have been required to make a daily appearance at my college. The LASALLE Show doubles as a showcase to display the best works amongst the different faculties of the college, as well as being a graduation show for those of us in the 3rd year, which I am. Honour Amongst Thieves has received a special display right at the entrance to the animation gallery, and I was occupied for the bett
